My Mother is hard of hearing & I was hoping this would help. Unfortunately, it did not. From the reviews I'd read, I was expecting a theater-like experience, but the sound quality was very mediocre & did not fit their needs. I've bought a lot of Samsung products, but was very disappointed in this one. Returning this item.

Sound is disappointing

A possible cause may be that the Soundbar is not placed with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. (Refer to product photos on BestBuy.com and zoom in on the photos) If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the display side down and the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor, you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

This was just what I needed. Much improved sound over my TV. Hookup was easy with either optical or antalog input. Everything worked just fine. Buy it, you'll like it.

I no longer have to turn my volume up and down while I watch TV. I use it in my bedroom and have no problem with it only being a one piece. The only negative thing I can say is that it is a little bulky and larger than my other Soundbar that I own. Overall great product though!
