My old dishwasher was a lost cause, so after looking around on what manufactures were good, also considering price. I found this one $100-200 cheaper than Lowes, Home Deopt , and Sears. There were certain qualities I was looking for and this one had it. Had a great buying experience and would recommend this product and Best Buy to anyone.

When I reviewed dishwashers before making a purchase my primary concern was noise. This machine is exactly what I was looking for. This machine is ultra quiet. I do wish the clean light would stay on until the door was opened initially after the clean cycle. There is no telling who in our family will start the machine and when. A minor thing, but convenient. As I installed this appliance myself I found it well designed and easy to install. I remember one person that had made a previous review stating that he did not like the front water and electrical connections. Actually I found it quite convenient. One thing I did find strange though is that the washing shell was rather wobbly out of the box. Thus the reason for the side anchor screws which anchor the shell to the under-cabinet opening. Seemed rather flimsy. I don't see it being a problem as long as you check the door fit after installation. There may be some adjustment required. One more note: The pump sump has no scrap strainer. It's not a problem for us as we pre-rinse our dishes but for those that don't it may present a problem down the road.

A Disappointing Purchase for us ...

We have had the Samsung DMT800RHS/XAA dishwasher for about ten months now and I must say that, overall, I regret buying it. I wish that we had bought the Kitchenaid that we were considering, instead. Although the DMT800 is very quiet during 90% of its cycle, this model is poorly designed and constructed. - One of the plastic height adjusters securing the top rack broke one month ago; we now literally have it lashed with a bootstrap. Samsung offered to replace it free of charge ... and then sent us the wrong part. Three weeks later, under warranty, Samsung 'Customer Service' says that there is absolutely nothing that that can do for us, ... and we are still waiting for the right part. Again: under warranty. 'Nuff said. - The plastic tabs holding the flatware baskets are 1 cm too short, causing the baskets to frequently fall off the side racks as you load them. - The slots in the flatware baskets to receive your flatware are pretty skinny; about half of our flatware have to be jammed into the slots, which damages the cheap plastic lids. I guess we could flip up the lids and not use them at all ... but that kinda defeats the whole purpose of having the featured flatware slots, doesn't it. - The front tines on the bottom rack, the ones that can fold down, do not line up with any of the other tines in the rack; they are tilted while the adjoining tines are straight up-and-down so you cannot load dishes larger than a small salad plate (~ 12 cm wide) in that row. Very inconvenient and very, very poorly designed. - Neither the upper nor lower racks seem very well suited for American-sized dishes. In fact, this dishwasher seems 'smaller' inside than other dishwashers we have owned. Consequently, we end jiggling dishes and plates a lot more to fit and running more cycles a week that we have before. Really, we used to run 1-2 loads a week before we bought this Samsung dishwasher; now we run 3-4 loads a week - same dishes, same pots, same people. Something is wrong, here. - The dishwasher has a tendency to 'turn on by itself'. Several times we have discovered the unit washing our dishes (rinsing, really since we never put any detergent in it) unattended and unintended. I think that top-mounted, touch-sensitive controls get brushed by our hands or bodies while we are loading the dishwasher and activate without our knowledge. - There is no air-dry feature or an option to turn off the heated-air dry cycle; there is only a forced-air drying cycle for a preset time. Even with the 'heated dry' cycle *and* using Finish Jet-Dry surfactant, 80% of our cycles end up wet, especially with plasticware. I end up wiping off the dishes with a dish-cloth. - The door holding the detergent flips open (upwards) to release your detergent ... unless you happen to have a dish, plate, or utensil loaded in the rack anywhere within 5 cm in front of it, in which case the door will only partially open; two hours later you will discover your dishes unwashed and a half-dissolved tablet stuck in your reservoir. Based on the use of cheap plastics in critical places, the poor design, the lack of certain ergonomics, the inattention to American requirements, and its relatively high price for its performance, I do not recommend this model to any one.

Purchased this dishwasher to match the rest of my kitchen appliances. I replaced a Kitchenaid, and I am disappointed that it does not clean as well. Several times I have found food particles still on dishes, and I never had that problem with my twelve year old Kitchenaid. I have had to change my loading of dishes to try to correct this. It is exceptionally quiet, and looks great. I am experimenting with different detergents to see if it will improve cleaning.

If you are not a fan of SAMSUNG, then walk way right now. That being said, this Samsung dishwasher is a great find. Yes, yes all dishwasher machines clean your stuff, I get that. This one does that too and more. It will sanitize your dishes (not kidding) it is easy to use (select a button and push it) it is sleek looking and everyone admires how it looks in my house. This machine is quiet. Not low noise, but QUIET. If you are not familiar with the definition of quiet, look it up. Other machines may say they have lower decibel levels, but once you get to quiet level (which this is) what's the point of throwing money at something that you can no longer hear anyway? Great styling, QUIET, and gets the dishes sparkling clean. Everyone who comes to my house and sees it love how it looks, but when I turn it own, they are floored when they don't hear it running.

This dishwasher was highly praised & recommended by the sales person. I think it is very good overall. It is very quiet & cleans well. The lower rack can be hard to push back in if you pull it out too far. The utensil/silverware holder is a little flimsy & awkward to use. A great value for the price I paid.

We like this dishwasher, but wish its soap dispenser worked more consistently. Sometimes liquid soaps just runs down the inside panel, other forms of soap are even less reliable (packets occasionally end up un-disolved on the unit's floor and powder does not always dispense or disolve). The racks work well and are very solid--doesn't vibrate. It is quite spacious and quiet. Its energy saving drying feature does not handle plastics well, so the silverware rack is always soaked -- particularly if you close it. Frankly, I think most other models encounter the same issues I described here. It is a jillion times better than our old Frigidair Gallery model.

This dishwasher has a very sleek look. It is by far the quietest dishwasher I've ever had. The first time I ran it, I didn't think it was working properly because I couldn't hear anything. It doesn't dry the dishes as well as I'd like. You must use a drying agent and even then the dishes will be pretty wet after its run. Because the dishwasher tends to stay damp, I've noticed a musty smell. Ill need to start leaving the door open a crack after washing a load to see if this helps - similar to front load washers.

This dishwasher is super quiet. First time I used it my wife didnt know it was running. She was about 5 feet fromit and said "what is that noise outside" we'll it wasn't a noise from outside it was the dishwasher. It's that quiet that it sounds like a little outside noise. It's great. My old dishwasher required us to rinse and scrub everything before it went in. This one doesn't at all. It dries really well too.

The dishwasher looks beautiful, cleans well and is very, very quiet. Just a few issues, which are minor. Top rack rows are odd, can only accommodate larger diameter glasses in some rows, other rows would probably only fit really small glasses like a shot glass; bottom rack is much lighter in weight than our Kitchenaid, and will slide off the track if you pull just a little too far out; silverware holder does not snap into place, moves around a little; still trying to figure out the best way to load the bottom rack, some of the tines need adjusting. On sale, we paid less than $600 including tax, so it was a really good deal.

I love the look of this dishwasher and the quietness. You hardly hear it running and my kitchen is open to my family room where the tv is. I also love the storm wash feature for caked on food. I no longer rinse my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. They come out crystal clean every time. The thing I like the least is the spacing of the wire slats on the top and bottom racks. They don't seem to be spaced correctly for cups and plates. It is a little tricky to load.

works great - looks great - and is very quiet. Does have a strange odor after the first few runs, but that goes away. The store rep said that was just some of the material adjusting to the heat from the dryer heating element. May leave a little water on top of some of your glasses that have a concave bottom. It's so quiet, that it's hard to tell it's actually washing the dishes.

This dishwasher cleans very well and it very quiet. We entertain a lot and my husband enjoys using long stemmed wine glasses and they fit well. We have only had it two weeks and got full use at Thanksgiving. I still need to figure out the bottom. Can't get in serving dishes or bowls easily yet though, but I have misplaced the user guide so may still figure it out. I would definitely recommend to friends.

Could not believe how quiet this dishwasher is. Cannot even tell it is running unless you are right on top of it. It cleans well, and the storm wash cycle really does work for tough pots and pans. It has a lot of extra cycles that we have not even tried yet; the normal and heavy cycles have done everything we have needed thus far. The top rack has several tiers with what seems to be too many tines, which makes it difficult to load it efficiently sometimes. Overall a great washer.

SOOO Quiet. Can't tell it's running unless I look at the lights. Has a silverware been with slots for individual pieces. Guess it's good to keep pieces for touching each other so they won't get scratched but a little more difficult to load. Cleans and dries really great and uses about half the detergent of my old unit unless, of course, I use the pods.

Old Dishwasher was loud, took forever to wash, then most of the time the dishes were not really clean (if you left any food on them) Yuck! This Samsung runs quiet, and gets them dishes clean. Easy to use. Very Impressed so far. Great Mothers Day gift - just kidding DONT Do it! lol
