Quiet, Versatile, and Sleek
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dishwasher is very quiet and the rack configuration is very versatile. You can even remove certain portions of the racks to accommodate large pots. You must use a rinse agent and set the sanitize option if you wish to have the plastic items come out dry. "Sanitize" raises the temperature in the dry cycle. There is an odor associated with this unit, but it is becoming less as the unit is used more. I gave 4 stars to performance because some dishes emerge not completely dry. The kick plate is not stainless, but painted silver enamel. An extra 15-20 minutes is required for installation over lesser models, as there are additional consideration for this unit. Leveling, though, is a snap.

love my samsung dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Top to bottom a great dishwasher. The storm wash feature is very nice when you have heavily soiled pots and pans. The udjustable upper rack is nice when you have large items on the bottom rack. The drying system samsung uses that pumps air into the unit opposed to pushing hot air out is really innovative. This is unit is very quiet. It's hard to tell if its running sometimes. Smart wash and half load feature saves water and energy. Dishes come out clean and dry and glasses have no spots. Great looking. Gives my kitchen an updated feel along with my new stainless - steel samsung refrigerator.

Poor engineering killed this beast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this dishwasher installed in February 2011 and have already had 2 service calls on it. The first one shortly after installation: every other load would stop partially with an error "0E". Technician replaced water level sensor after conferring with Samsung engineering (who still do not have a clue how to fix the problem). Seemed to work fine for a while, then in March it developed this annoying problem of not powering on unless I flipped the circuit breaker on and off. This happened three times until finally on 5/2/2011 it would refuse to power up. Call #2 to service to replace the motherboard. At this rate they will be replacing the entire dishwasher part by part before the year is out! Do a Google search on Samsung DMT800RHS and you will find both of these problems are quite common...obvious sign that Samsung's engineers need to go back to school. Otherwise during the few times the dishwasher actually worked it did a good job and it is very quiet.

Samsung - 24" Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher - Stain
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great look and performance. Good thing this dishwasher has LED indicator in front otherwise you will not know when it's running. Very quiet. One thing I hold me back to give excellent on performance is weird design on the top rack. The design doesn't give you a lot of room for small items.

Great value and performance !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We became a big Samsung fan after purchasing their front loading washer and dryer so when the time came to finally throw in the towel and give up on our LG dishwasher I looked closely at what they had to offer. In short, this unit has strengthened my satisfaction with the Samsung product line. Like most consumers, I studied the reviews and seeked comments from friends about their dishwasher purchases/experiences. One overwhelming consensus you get from owners of the high rated "energy efficient" units is that none are particularly thrilled about the drying process, especially when it comes to plastic glasses and dishware. Not that Samsung holds the corner on the market in this area, but the difference between my highly rated LG dishwasher and this unit is remarkable. We find the dishes and cookware come out spotless, dry (even most of the plastic items) and it operates as quiet as units costing several hundred $$ more. It’s hard at times to tell its running! We installed the unit ourselves and found the front leveling device (a screw accessible on the front panel which levels the back legs) to be a big improvement over our previous unit which required you to remove the entire unit (several times) to adjust the back legs properly. Last night we finally broke down and put all of the dishes, silverware, pots and pans into the unit dirty after removing the loose food. I am happy to report that everything was again spotless and dry this morning. Needless to say we are happy with our purchase.

Doesn't dry the dishes.....at all
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had my DMT800 Stainless model in for a week and I'm extremely disappointed in the performance. The unit is very slow to wash on normal mode. Most importantly the dishes don't come out dry at all. You must dry them by hand. The covered heating element is not used to dry the dishes, only to heat the water. It uses fans to pull in the room air to air dry the dishes. Great if you have a couple days to dry your dishes but not so great if you have a family. Support tells you to use a rinse aid but that does not help at all. I'm returning it for a different washer. On the plus side it is very quiet and the dishes are clean. For 700.00 + I expect better performance.

A very average dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had this dishwasher for a little over a month. Although it is quiet, sturdy, looks nice, and is loaded with features, it is very average at its primary job: cleaning dishes. Dishes often come out still dirty and have to be run a second time. This average performance is even more disappointing because of the price as compared to similar models. After reading the mediocre reviews, we decided to try it at the recommendation of the Best Buy salesman and because our other appliances were also Samsung and we really like them. In the end, I wish we would have tried the similar Whirlpool or that the Bosch dishwashers were bigger. I would definitely recommend looking at another product.

Not bad but not great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought a house with older appliances. About a month later we couldn't stand them. So I did the whole research thing, talked with many different salespeople and decided to purchase a complete Samsung kitchen (i.e. fridge, stove, OTR microwave, dishwasher). My salesmen @ the store was extremely helpful in my decision on all appliances and recommended this dishwasher as the best that Samsung makes and I agreed after doing my research on them. We got everything delivered and have been satisfied in the purchase except the dishwasher. The unit runs as expected. It loads well, you can move the upper rack up and down, has the neat power scrubber area and the unit is very quiet. So quiet that I hear my new fridge cycling over it (and the fridge is real quiet). But after giving this model it's fair shake for 30 days, I can say that I'm not satisfied with how well it cleans dishes. I can tell you we have a large family and we regularly run dishes at least 2 times a day. There has been a lot of times that there has been tiny food particles left on the dishes, the soap door usually has left over soap in it and dishes not drying when said cleaned. I have spoken to quite a few people regarding this and read the owners manual, taking the knowledge of making sure to run hot water out of the sink tap till hot, trying to pre-rinse or not to pre-rinse the dishes, to also switching over to powder. But I still have the same issues. I just ended up exchanging this for a different brand. I just hope that the next unit fairs better for cleaning.

Samsung DMT800RHS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. We have to rinse everything off our dishes before loading into dishwasher, because it will not clean. This is a waste of water. Toast crumbs left on a plate will be found in cups, glasses and whatever may be on the upper rack. We often wash our dishes by hand now. Dishes do not fit properly. I have to space cereal bowls 3 separators apart or they touch and don't get clean in between. I would not recommend this dishwasher, especially for the cost at the time of our purchase. Meanwhile, I have a KitchenAid SuperQuiet at our cottage. Can't hear it even with ear to door. Cleaned baking dish used for lasagne thoroughly, without pre-rinsing. All my dishes fit as they are supposed to, without having to space far apart. I would buy another KitchenAid over a Samsung any day! I definitely would not recommend a Samsung.

DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this dishwasher last November for our new kitchen. Paying more to get the top of the line Samsung dishwasher from Best Buy. Liked the sleek look and design. The dishwasher was not as quiet as expected and the trap at the bottom can not be open without taking out all 10+screws! The washing cycles were long and did not clean very well. After calling in the Geek Squad once or twice, it finally went dead in Dec, just a couple of weeks after the warranty! The repairman came and said the motor went out and would cost $500 to $600 to replace. Never had encountered such junk. There are just three of us and we usually rinse & scrap our dishes before washing so we just can't think of the reason that why it should burn out the motor!

Good, quiet dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had this dishwasher for more than a month. Good points: Does an excellent job cleaning, cleans pots and pans, baked on casserole dishes and other tough jobs. Storm Wash feature gets it done. It is extremely quiet, it is hard to tell if it is on or not sometimes it is so quiet. It is very attractive. Weak points: Does a terrible job drying, our dishes and glasses are always wet even when we use a drying agent. Not too crazy about the way the racks are laid out but it works. Overall we are happy with this dishwasher, just wish the dishes came out dry.

Best Dishwasher Have Ever Had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best dishwasher I have had. It is super quiet and does wash with powerful force. Only had to adjust some placement of items for drying, but that is no big deal to me, use a cloth if glasses a little damp. The unit looks and works great!

Matching dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great looking dishwasher. Love the child lock, but it has some issues. Don't like how the silverware caddy doesn't snap in place. Also, needs jet dry otherwise dishes will stay wet for a long time. Very quiet and the delayed start is. Great feature.

Quiet & Cleans like a champ
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a 6 year old Maytag with this unit and we have been very happy with the results so far. We have had it about 45 days. First of all it is very quiet, not quite as quiet as the top of the line Bosch, but also not $1500. It is easy to forget it is even running unless it is draining water. It also cleans extremely well. Our old Maytag was supposed to be a good cleaning unit, but never worked all the great. This Samsung cleans like a champ. We have used the turbo wash feature on a nasty pot and it did the job. Finally, I like how it is configured inside. We can fit more in this unit than we could in our 3 rack Maytag. Take the time to follow the suggestions for loading in the owner manual and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Very disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wrote a positive review on this product one year ago. Don't buy this dishwasher. It is not worth the price tag. Last year I was having problems with it powering up. The temporary solution was to trip the breaker in the breaker box. After getting tired of doing this I called Best Buy and the service guy pinpointed the problem to the touch pad. This was a common problem for dishwasher manufactured during the same time period as mine. This was replaced 11/2011, when the dishwasher was still under warranty. Well, I am now about 1.5 months out of warranty and the motor has stopped working. Plastic pieces in the upper basket have broken off, three in all. I have found these chewed up pieces in the disposal. Not knowing what these little gray pieces were when I dug them out of the disposal, I figured they were Lego pieces as my seven year old is a big Lego builder, or some other tiny toy piece. It's going to be $100 to have a tech come out and diagnose the problem. Who knows how much the part(s) will cost. If you've read other reviews, other people have had the same problem. I'm tempted to just bite the bullet and go buy another brand.

Very Poor Quality - No Stars for you...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had 2 of these units. The first one worked great for 2 days and then we had very loud motor noises on day 3. On day 4 our hardwood floors were ruined. Geek Squad came out 2 days later and removed plastic wrapping from deep inside a motor. After that the motor still sounded loud and we replaced with another unit. The second unit worked great for about 3-5 days before it wouldn't start. In order to make this unit run, I would have to go down to our breaker box, flip the breaker to reset the computer inside the DW. At best, this 2nd unit would run twice without having to reboot it. Also, the very cheap plastic wheels used to roll the lower rack in and out were constantly falling off and making it difficult to roll the rack back and forth. We've had a Bosch Integra 500 for about a week and have had no problems with it and it cleans much better. I wouldn't recommend this Samsung unit to anyone. Very poor quality unit - TWICE!

Its an average product.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a hard person to please. That being said, I have had no negative experiances with this Samsung product. I got it on sale for $650.00, installed and delivered free. So all in all, if you can get it on clearance you'll save a bunch of cash. I previously had a GE that for four years was okay at best. It had been recalled due to a fire hazard. I'm still adjusting to the interior design of the Samsung, as the layout is completely different. the adjustable upper rack comes in handy. Many features such as time-delay will go unused in my house, but may be usefull for something, somewhere.
