This replaced my old Whirlpool 27.9 cubic foot refrigerator. The size was comparable and the most attractive (and, in my opinion, the smartest feature EVER) is the flex zone. Having the extra space to switch between fridge and freezer is brilliant! The regular fridge space is decent enough for a household of five; however, the engineers that designed the shelving layout must not have children who drink milk and must only purchase the travel size of condiments and various bottles of sauces. The shelves as delivered fall JUST short of fitting a gallon of milk (to be fair, we go through 5-7 gallons a week so we always have 2-3 on hand). There is space on the door for one which has become the default home for this food item. The other shelves had to be adjusted to fit the extra containers. Another downside is that the door compartments can't be adjusted at all...again, they were JUST shy of holding our various salad dressings, ketchup bottles, and applesauce jars. With the extra flex zone storage, we were able to find the new home's for these well-used items but a negative would be the lack of configuration. Cooling is great! I read complaints prior to purchasing about the ice capacity but haven't had an issue yet. One surprise was the lack of a water collection tray under the dispenser. The inevitable drips just collect in a depression so I'm finding my obsessive-compulsive side coming out and I'm constantly wiping up drips to keep it clean. Seems like a small addition that would have gone a long way. As I indicated, the fridge is HUGE. I had double-checked my measurements to make sure it would fit. It is a little deeper with the gadgets in the door which accounts for the extra door thickness. The installers had no problem removing the doors prior to hauling it into the house. The door hinge fastening mechanism is pretty slick and easy to use.
The touchscreen is very impressive and the first thing you notice. The display is clear and very responsive. I honestly don't use most of the apps. The only ones that we use are the calendar integration (all family members post and share Google calendar from their mobile phones), the weather app, Pandora/TuneIn for playing music in the kitchen. Side note, the speakers are very nice and the sound fills the room. Nicely done Samsung, you didn't skimp here! Deals is a nice app as well and is on a secondary screen. It monitors local store adds and displays specials. Saves thumbing through weekly circulars. The photo gallery is also nice (our old fridge was plastered with photos held on w/magnates) A magnate will NEVER touch this surface for fear of scratching it! Being able to send pictures from my phone to the fridge is convenient and easy. If you don't have all Samsung smart devices, the home integration is non-existent. It would be nice to incorporate Alexa or Google Assistant. I have tons of smart devices controlled by Google (Lights, Nest products, garage door, etc.). None of those can be connected to the fridge. The "Hi Bixby" feature works pretty well but I don't really use it as I believe Samsung intended. I get their concept of trying to make the fridge the centerpiece of the home but I'd rather be sitting on my couch speaking to Google than standing in front of my fridge. It's great for to-do's (I set up one for feeding the dog in the am and another for the pm. At any time someone can check to see if it's been checked off or not, as well as things like garbage night and house chores). The camera is a nice feature that I have used while out shopping to quickly check if we needed more eggs (or milk!). You have limited view of the main area so you can't get a complete picture of what's in there but it's still a nice feature. The shopping list and tagging items that expire is too clunky to use on a regular basis. It would be easier if the phone app could scan a bar-code and then automatically add that item to the contents. Having to stand in front of the fridge pecking away at a keyboard is not fun and I feel a little silly doing it LOL (like I said, I'd rather be sitting on my couch).
The comment that stands out the most was from one of my teenage son's who said "this cost more than my car!". I brushed off the comment and said "if you work hard (and get a darn job!) you can afford something like this in the future" but when I thought about it, it is A LOT to pay for an appliance. If I had to do it over, I still would. It's a very impressive appliance with all the modern technology. The black stainless finish is really sexy looking. We got the matching stove and microwave and the suite looks totally awesome. Time will tell regarding its reliability but this is something that an extended warranty is a must (too much that can go wrong!). In summary, I'm glad I purchased this product. No regrets. Some room for improvements on shelf/door configurations would bump this to 5 stars. That's really the only negative worth mentioning. Hopefully, Samsung will provide regular software updates to the fridge (and mobile app) to add new features. p.s. I haven't had any network connectivity issues (but I am a geek and my home network is pretty tight)

Great Fridge & Adds to Modern Looking Kitchen

I was looking to buy this fridge for about a year and finally gave in and bought it. Great fridge. People are wow’ed when they see it. I saw some complaints about ice but I haven’t had any problems but don’t go through lots of ice either though. The bottom right quadrant of fridge is a flex zone where you can adjust temperature to refrigerate, freeze, soft freeze or chill wine. All the features are great. It’s nice to see what’s in the fridge when grocery shopping and add to shopping list on the fridge and open the Samsung app at the store. It syncs with my Ring doorbell when someone comes to door I see who’s at front door on my fridge. Recipe apps are great. The weather is on the home screen that shows rain, snow, wind, sun, clear night and temperature. It shows the temperatures inside the fridge/freezer, outside the fridge kitchen temperature and outside the house temperature. The list goes on. Let’s you know when food is expiring which is handy at the grocery store. You can order an Uber from fridge, Grubhub, you can order Fresh Direct or just add groceries to it on fridge. It mirrors what is on my Samsung TV. You have Pandora on there. Upload pictures to fridge. You can leave notes on fridge. If you doors are open more than two minutes you will get a notification chime and note on fridge to close the door, you’ll get notifications on your phone and on your Samsung tv. I can go on and on. A little pricey but I have zero buyers remorse. Love this fridge.

This is our first experience with a Samsung refrigerator. The 4 doors make everything very easy to access. The bottom right compartment is flex mode, so can use it as a refrigerator or freezer. We have set it up as “vegetables and cheese “, so it automatically adjusts the temperature and humidity to keep the produce fresh.
The family hub is great, and very useful to look up recipes while cooking. The “look inside” shows you what’s in the fridge on the app, and is helpful while grocery shopping. The home page is for creative use... we’ve added pictures of our family to the home page.
We’re happy Best Buy matched the price from Costco.
My reason for 4 stars is that it is not fingerprint proof as Samsung claims. With the darker color, finger marks show up very easily.

This is the coolest refrigerator ever. My grandmother called me while it was playing music via Bluetooth and I was able to stand in front of the fridge and talk to her. I can send pictures, videos, control my TV with my voice, etc, etc.
A a fridge, it is silent, fast, and very effective. I’ll have this for the rest of my life.

I've been eyeballing this refrigerator for some time now and decided to finally spend the money to welcome it Into my home. So far, the refrigerator has been all i had hoped for. Everyone who visits my home always comments how beautiful the fridge looks. I love the 4 door design and how convinient it is to get I to the freezer. The lighting is great too. I've owned refrigerators in the past that the lighting didnt make it past the second shelve. If you leave the door open too long it will chime and do a quick cool down to ensure the food stays fresh.

The first version showed up with a dent on a front door... no big deal since it was replaced within a week. The problem is with the ice maker. Initially water started dripping from the water dispenser once the water line was connected. Called for service and the water stopped dripping after a day. The service guy noticed that the delivery guys did not level the refrigerator so he leveled it while he was here. After 3 days of service, the ice maker quit working. It turned into a block of ice and completely jammed. As weird as it sounds, Samsung contracts the Dish Satellite TV to perform service. I’m still ok as long as they are trained properly. We call for service again and a Dish guy comes, defrosts the ice maker and changes out some component. Now we find out that a leveler was stripped out and the refrigerator cannot be pulled away from the wall so I have to pull my breaker so he can perform his service since he could not unplug it. Within 2 weeks, it was freezing up again and not dispensing ice. Again called for service... this time they bring a replacement leveler and a completely new ice maker unit. In addition, they added a silicone sealant at the install points. It made ice for a few months and then it started freezing up again. About every few weeks, I have had to thaw it out myself to keep it functional. It is currently frozen solid yet again so today’s job is to thaw it out yet again. Wife has another call into service now trying to request a Samsung person to find out the real problem but Samsung insists on sending the same Dish Network guys again. I do have a reverse osmosis system in my house that supplies water to this and an LG refrigerator that is in our basement. Now wishing I had spent less and bought another LG... it has no problem making ice. For $5000+ you expect better. Nice touch screen and looks very nice but since this ice maker has been serviced twice and totally replaced... makes me think Samsung May have quality or design issues with their ice makers. Beware!!!

I wanted this refrigerator from the time it came out. This was an excellent purchase and I'm reminded of that every time I come down to my kitchen. I purchased a TV at the Best Buy Outlet in Timonium Maryland for $2200 this was beyond a deal.
I love the fact that it's integrated with my ring doorbell so when the doorbell rings and pops up on my refrigerator.

Love my new fridge! It’s deep and hold a lot of items. If you are short it can be a lil hard reaching the back of the fridge lol. The speakers sounds great! The flex option is awesome. Sometimes my freezer is not full and I use the flex option my wine or overflow from the fridge.

The Fridge was great for the first two years, honestly amazing! It had more space than my last fridge and its cooling was spot on, but after two years, mainly right now, the cooling of the fridge is lacking harshly, for example, the freezer has dropped to 41 degrees, making me have to move everything from the freezer to a temp fridge for now, and I'm gonna get a repair for it but it's coming out as $380, I will say this is a great fridge but get the protection plan with Best Buy just in case.

Great looking Smart Refrigerator

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I have only had this refrigerator for a few days so far and this is my thoughts so far. The refrigerator itself is working very well, it is cooling at the right temps in the right areas. The Ice maker works well, although it seems to be kind of slow on the production at first, it dispenses well. The water dispenses at a great pace, better than my 15-year-old Samsung it replaced. The space I have now compared to my 24.9cu side by side is very noticeable in a good way. The outside finish is the Black Stainless Steel, it does get fingerprints, but I have a microfiber and warm water on the ready for this.
As for the Hub part, I am pretty happy with it, it does have some things that Samsung needs to update/adjust.
The good things:
I have had no issues connecting any of the apps to the internet like Pandora, iHeartRADIO, Tunin, Weather, Smartthings, etc. Make sure you have a good connection in your kitchen.
The internet browser works good, no issues. Youtube, Facebook had no issues. You will not be able to watch Netflix on it, no Silverlight support :( I tried, ADD NETFLEX Samsung!)
I find I am using the shopping list and it is nice you can move the items from the shopping list to the frig easily. I was using the shopping list on my Echo.
The interface is very easy to figure out and use, I am a techy person, but my wife is not and she was navigating with no issues right from the start.
The first firmware update took 20secs, and it was up and running.
An iPhone will work with the Samsung Hub app, and it is very useful for what it is.
It works great with my Ring Doorbell.
The Flex Zone door was a main reason we picked this one, we plan on buying less frozen food.
This model has the water and ice lever under the shoot compared to other models where you need to select water/ice/crushed ice, I like that.
The things that need work (many of this things will hopefully be addressed with future updates:
Bixby is no Alexa, the voice assistant on the frig is very limited as of now. I hope to see Samsung update this asap.
If you have an iPhone you can not stream off of your iPhone.
If you do not have a Samsung TV you can not cast to your Hum Frig.
This is a big one that needs attention at least for me. Within the "Deals" app there is "Coupons" this feeds any deals you find into your loyalty accounts at stores you shop at. The big problem is they do not have any stores in my area, not even the big chains, Kroger, Safeway, Albertsons, and Walmart (they don't do coupons but I thought I would list it). What a big let down!
It needs more apps, of course, I will say that there is no app store so we must wait until Samsung decides to add whatever apps they like. App needed, Netflix, Amazon Video, Redbox, Amazon Shopping, to list a few.
Hub/Smartthings needs to work with more smart things in my house. Unless I have not figured out how to yet here are the smart devices that I do not have connected to the frig yet.
Lift Light bulbs, Smart Plugs, Amazon echos, Sony Smart TV's and Receivers, b-hyve water management system (mister system), My-q garage door opener hub., Nest thermostat.
The camera view inside the frig is cool, but not as useful as you might think, it does look very good, just you can't see things behind things, and in the doors or Freezer.
The water filter while easy to replace and out of the way is expensive at $9 every 6 months, an inline filter may be an option down the road. (I know, I spend $3,500 on a frig why would i complain).
Again no streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Video (for those of use that do not have Samsung TV's or Phones).

Modern Marvel

The Samsung 4 door Family hub Refrigerator is nothing short of a modern marvel. My family loves this fridge and it has become the main focal point at breakfast every morning. My wife leaves notes on the whiteboard for the kids to see every morning which add a great touch for communication between us. The shopping list is also a great feature that we both love because if we are at the market we can both check and see if something was added by the kids or ourselves. The beautiful pictures or family photos that you can download and place on the screen are also an awesome touch.
I always find my twin girls fighting to see who can leave a drawing first before leaving to school. All of the included apps are also great to use including the Tasty app which allows us to see all of their videos and recipes. I wish a stand alone You tube app could of been available so that I could log in and watch my daily subscription feed pop up as prepare my meals for the week. The tech guy in me is always checking the cameras to see what's inside my fridge when I am away from home. I also love streaming Spotify music from time to time when i am in the kitchen.
We previously read reviews on this fridge and saw how some complained about the door space. However, that was not the case with us. We were able to fit everything from our previous fridge door to this fridge with no problem. One great feature that my wife loves is the fact that you can turn the bottom right door into a fridge. Since we have a separate freezer in the garage, we keep most of the bulky items out there. This allows for even greater refrigerated items to be stored. We usually put the kids lunch and our meals to go for the week in there or any other item that does not fit up top.
Overall, this has been a huge upgrade to our previous fridge and we can't be thankful enough to have received it.
