This product was able to do both. Setup was easy and it looks great with the TV.

We were finding that the show would be one level and than the commercials would be excessively loud. I’m sad to say this hasn’t really stopped that. But it does everything else we wanted. It gives us beautiful sound when watching movies or tv shows. Love that we can focus more on what the characters are saying than any background noise it has. But it doesn’t take away from the overall effect. You still get the feel of the music or explosions. It just doesn’t overpower everything else

Standard set up using HDMI cable occasionally reverts to DIN when turned on and have to manually change it back to HDMI. Sound provided is much better than the TV speakers and it is very appealing in looks, but dissatisfied with connectivity problems.

I am very sorry to see that the soundbar is not maintaining the desired source connection. Please know that the soundbar will remember the last setting before it was turned off. Thus, if you wish the soundbar to turn on to detect HDMI, make sure that HDMI is the used source when you turn off.

Easy set up

We wanted to stay with Samsung because of the dependability, along with having the same brand name TV and Blu-ray DVD player. Very easy set up and I also would recommend using an HDMI cable instead of the other cord that’s given, only because when live streaming it seems to handle through the sound bar better. It seems like brand-name items are a little bit more pricey then unknowns; we really don’t hear much of a difference from our old one to the new one. Either way we still needed a new one.
