I am glad to see that overall you are happy with this soundbar.
You should be able to connect the soundbar via Bluetooth to your iPhone and use your music app to control the volume, track skip, etc.

The Samsung Audio Remote App lets smart phone users control the soundbar from their phone. However, the app is only compatible with Android mobile phones and mobile devices
running Android OS 3.0 or later.

When there's music playing, it's loud, but when there's talking, you have to turn the volume up to 65, which is ridiculous, because then it's super loud once music or theatrical sounds play again. Is this how all sound bars are? So far we don't like it. :(

Thank you for purchasing this Samsung HW-R650 Soundbar featuring a dedicated center channel for clear dialogue and a Wireless Subwoofer for deep bass. I am sorry to hear that you are not completely happy with dialogue performance.
To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or SMART.
You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).
DRC further lets you apply Dynamic Range Control to Dolby Digital tracks. With DRC turned on, loud sounds will be reduced.
1) Turn off your Soundbar.
2) While the Soundbar is off, press and hold the Sound Mode button on the remote control for 6 seconds until you see “DRC ON” shown on the display.
3) To turn off DRC, repeat steps 1 and 2 above.

It has rich sound quality, though it doesn’t seem to generate all-round sound and the sound on the sides isn’t as strong as on the front. So, depending on where you’re sitting in the room, the sound varies. If not for that, I’d have given it 5 stars.
