Small unit but very impressive

Great theater sound

On the upside, due to the dedicated center channel, voices and dialogue frequencies are accurate and clear

Newer sound bar with more bells and whistles

It’s a subtle change, but the 3.1 version gives us better clarity by having a center speaker that improves dialogue separation.

His and with hearing issues said this made a HUGE difference because it’s 3 channels

Does not work with current samsung iOS apps

It was easy to set up without a lot of wires. The sub woofer is nicely hidden in the back of the room with needed to plug it in.

Can't Believe it

Very nice sound in my man cave. Dialogue is clear even when there is lots of other background noise.

Great upgrade

The center channel makes all the difference and the sub is great. My only complaint is that the sound gets muddy at low volumes. Still a great soundbar.

Decent surround but NO base

Audio is very clear and set up is easy..........but..........the base is not what I was expecting. That’s the only hiccup with this unit.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-R650. I'm glad to see that overall you are happy with this soundbar.
There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize bass from soundbar and subwoofer:
1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.
2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or SMART.

Awesome speakers.

The speakers definitely give you a theatre experience. On sale to boot! Stoked!

Not quite what I expected

I previously saw a sound bar demonstration were the clarity was amazing even second hand through my TV speakers. You could very clearly hear every little thing like glass breaking, paper rustling, footsteps. But I guess that was just a trumped up demo because this sound bar is not that. As I said the sound on this one is good but I honestly don’t see were it is any better than the speakers on the television and considering what it cost I would expect it to be better.

I am very sorry to see that in-home audio output is not as you experienced in the store.
First, please do check that you have positioned the soundbar correctly. It has come to our attention that customers may be positioning the soundbar incorrectly, resulting in poor sound quality. The soundbar should be placed with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. (Refer to product photos on Samsung.com and zoom in on the photos) If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when you sit), you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

The remote is awful the buttons are not good

Great speakers
