I was told by the sales rep that the sub was not plugged in but that i could test the sound bar. The sound is great and the clarity is perfect. I liked it in store and i assumed the bass would be better once all plugged in. When i was home and i set up everything, the sub and bass was a disappointment. The sound BAR itself is great and i have no complaints. However, i wanted a soundbar with good bass. If you dont care about the bass and just want minimal then you can go ahead and purchase this. However, if you are looking for BASS please ignore this Samsung item and go to JBL soundbars. Much better sound with bass for the same price. I returned the soundbar and purchased the JBL soundbar. Very happy with that one.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Samsung HW-R650 Soundbar. I am sorry to see that you are not happy with bass.
Please try adjusting the Subwoofer and the bass output on the Soundbar:
1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down.
2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

I have a Samsung TV, yet the supplied remote is so cheap and so ineffective that I have to use 3 different remotes to make it work in unison with my Apple TV. Why can't manufacturers get together and make one remote EASILY programmable? The design all the products in a vacuum with little regard for how real users operate their TV and sound systems. The supplied remote is such a bad design, it is was stuck closed and I could not open it t install a battery. YOUTUBE has many others with the same problem. Finally I had to have them ship me a new remote yet I can not get it to work easily with TV and sound system.
