Please know that the HW-R650 features Smart Sound Mode to automatically analyze your content and optimize sound settings for the best audio delivery. You can also select from STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, and GAME effects by pressing the SOUND MODE button on the soundbar remote.
There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize the potential of the included wireless subwoofer and bass:
1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.
2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.

You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or SMART.
You can also press the Sound Control button on the remote (looks like a gear) to adjust TREBLE and BASS.
Press and hold the Sound Control button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each of seven frequency bands.
Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

If the video on the TV and audio from the Soundbar are not synchronized, select AUDIO SYNC in Sound Settings, and then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons. (Not available in “USB” mode.)

It shuts off

The soundbar does not automatically comes on when you switch it over to the soundbar it will come in for 2 minutes then it revert back to the tv speaker. You would Then need to switch it back to soundbar source to use the soundbar. Super annoying, samsung please fix this issue. Its a common problem with your soundbar connected to a Samsung tv

Your room dimensions and layout do affect overall acoustics. You may want to consider adding the Samsung SWA-8500S Wireless Rear Speakers Kit to expand audio impact. These rear loudspeakers easily connect wirelessly via WiFi.

Not happy with my sound bar

We had our son come over and check it out and he made some adjustments but now it doesn't stay within the adjustments so it's back to just noise. Would not buy another one that's for sure.

Returned was not impressed

The display was broke the first time we went to the store to look at soundbars. We come back a second time and it was broke again but the employee convinced it was a good Device. However, after hearing it we hated it. It sounded muffled and not good at all.

I am very sorry to see that the unit on display was not working, and that you were not happy with the performance once you got it home.
It has come to our attention that customers may be positioning the soundbar incorrectly, resulting in poor sound quality. The soundbar should be placed with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. (Refer to product photos on Samsung.com and zoom in on the photos) If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when you sit), you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

Called SAMSUNG "customer support" and was unable to get ANY real help. Representative simply read a script and had no clue. Secondly, the SUBWOOFER is HORRIBLE. There is more bass from rabbit flatulence. If I could return, I would. Worst purchase EVER!!!

However the sound is poor blurred and weak. No way to remotely raise the sound volume on the sound bar remote. I one tries to raise the volume on the TV remote control, the sound of the TV echoes with the one of the sound bar. Not worth more than $300! Rip off!

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-R650. The issues you are experiencing sound like you may have positioned the soundbar incorrectly.
Please check that your soundbar is positioned with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. We have found that some customers are incorrectly positioning the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when you sit), resulting in poor connection, remote signal being blocked, and audio quality sounding muffled. Refer to product photos on BestBuy.com and zoom in on the photos.
