    so I got this soundbar about a month ago, sound is great and subwoofer adds awesome bass but last night i was watching a movie when I noticed the sound was a little different.... I walked up to the sound bar and realized the right side speakers aren't working anymore. I was disappointed since this soundbar was amazing, I have geek squad protection and hopefully can get a replacement since its barely 1 month old.

    Bought this Soundbar with my Samsung TV to compliment the viewing and audio experience the (HW-M550/ZA) is weak on power and no punch out of the subwoofer even at full volume also missing some of the sound enhancements that my older system has therefore I'm disappointed and will be returning it. I have a older Samsung Soundbar (HW-F550/ZA) that is fantastic I mean WOW!!, very strong and powerful like a high power home stereo system.....most consumers want powerful systems not just OK.

      Please check the connection between the Soundbar and other source devices, and try the following tips that may help improve the volume level.
      1. If the Soundbar is connected to a TV thru HDMI, make sure to use the HDMI-ARC jack on the TV and select “External speakers” as the TV sound output.
      2. Check the audio output format sent to the Soundbar. Typical options are PCM, Dolby Digital, and Bitstream. Select the option that optimizes the sound from your source.
      3. Change the SOUND MODE on the Soundbar using the Soundbar’s remote. Choices are STANDARD, MUSIC, CLEAR VOICE, SPORTS, or MOVIE. Select the appropriate mode for the individual room acoustics.
      4. Turn on Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the SOUND MODE button on the remote control while the Soundbar is in standby mode.

      We also recommend users update the software to the latest version, so that the unit would keep up with improvements and compatibility enhancements. The software updates can be performed via the Multiroom App on your mobile device, or via manual download from Samsung.com/support

    Great sound, but lacks the power

    As with other reviewers, this unit sounds great but the sub seems to work only when you have it and the bass turned to max... that is the only way for me to get the movie experience that I want but leaves no room for music where you want it more... I contacted Samsung and they did not have anything to fix this with out a technician visiting... I am very disappointed

    Poor Subwoofer Quality

    Best buy sales rep told me it was a nice system for my buck. Sure it was not!!! Sound bar sounds pretty decent for voice. Its clear and some what loud. Subwoofer Sucks!!!!! You cant even hear the rumbling. You cant tell tell if is the soundbar or the subwoofer giving the bass. If your looking for bass and rumbling. I woulnt recommend to anyone. Voice was OK. Nothing impressing to me. Going to exchange tommorow for a JBL. I know they wont disappoint me.

    If you are going to buy this, make sure you also pick up the wireless side speakers to create a 5.1 system. Wireless connection to sub and side speakers are very stable. Some people say the sub is a little weak, but it is just right for me. Besides you can turn up the sub volume, you can also boost the bass using the sound setting menu. You can adjust the high, low and side speakers level in the settings. The cons for this sound bar would be the very limited supported format. It only supports encoded Dolby 5.1 and DTS 2.0 (No DTS 5.1, TrueHD, DTS-HD)

    I actually waited for this Samsung Soundbar and I am glad I did, I been wanting to purchase it and I got it at a great price on sale, it sounds fantastic and installing it was very easy, love the wireless subwoofer and its low end and bass rumble throughout a good movie. Samsung is the way to go, highly recommend

    Exchanged my polk signa s1 for initially the model below this one but decided to go for the m550 over the 450. And man what a difference. I can literally feel the bass in my soul lol okay back to life back to reality now. This is a great soundbar with great clarity and bass and ease of use. Plus having the hdmi arc with this and the tv makes it so easy and convenient. I definitely recommend it.

    Don’t buy

    Sound was great and easy set up. It was paired with an UHD Samsung TV. The problem came when we were watching a movie on Netflix and we got a random static sound. Took it back and bought the JBL 2.1 and it is awesome...no static and great bass!!

    No bass, subwoofer is paired and maxed SW+6

    Replaced Boston teev26 sound bar and subwoofer, with the Samsung m550, and am extremely unhappy with the bass or lack thereof. Does anyone have an idea how to fix???? Need help fast or it gets returned!!

    I don't know what you're doing here but my SUBWOOFER has a lot of bass but a different sub then you have the big hole is in the back of the SUBWOOFER the front has the speaker by itself

    I have had my eyes on this sound bar for over a year. Finally decided to make the purchase for the new season of Game of Thrones. What a complete disappointment. I had an incredibly tough time getting the subwoofer to connect. Had to manually connect it 3 times for it to finally work. When it did work I couldn't even tell it was on. I pulled the subwoofer to my bedroom and put my ear on the woofer and could finally feel it (at +6 maxed out). I blasted ying yang twins, 50 cent and every other hip hop artist I could think of to see how it felt. Worthless. I put a glass of water near it and it was barely making the water move. I put by wireless Bose bluetooth speaker same distance and it made the water move more (and sounded better). Also my computer subwoofer felt like it had a stronger bass... I thought that maybe when I hooked up the rear speakers it would sound better...nope. Had to put my head near the side speakers to have a surround sound experience. I tried to watch some war movies to see if the bass would improve. I got nothing. Switched it over to Netflix to watch an episode of The Office. 2x my girlfriend had to ask me "what did they say?". Sorry for this price I expect more. Very disappointed in this Samsung product, considering I enjoy other products from them (2 Samsung TV's).

      Please know that the HW-M550 has a dedicated Subwoofer level control on your remote.
      The button is labeled “WOOFER”, and is located to the right of the Volume button.
      Push the button up or down to adjust the volume of the subwoofer to -12, or -6 to +6.
      Pressing the button will revert the subwoofer volume to level 0.

    Low to no base

    So I adjust the Base volume to Max and increased it in the equalizer to max. I connected my phone VIA blue tooth and the base is barely there, I can hear some noise but very unclear and low. I connect it to my TV via optical and I can hear the base but even at max it is lower than you would expect. In the store, the base was loud and clear. I'll be returning this and searching for a different brand.

    Sub woofer useless

    Purchased this item two days ago. The sub woofer was useless. The bluetooth connection worked but no sound would come out of the speaker. Contacted Samsung support and they had me turn it off and on several times then offered to fix it if I sent the unit into them at my cost. Not impressed. Going back to Best Buys today to return it and look for a unti taht will work.

    Great soundbar for apartments. Wanted something that was easy to set up, great sound, and not breaking the bank. Check all three. Bass is responsive, dialogue is clear while gaming or watching movies.
