Better buy the service plan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The washing machine is great. The VRT technology works awesome, the clothes get clean with very little water or detergent - even on cold - and there is no issue whatsoever with mildew or stink. BUT - 13 months later (one month after the warranty expires of course) the washer thinks it's not getting water and shuts down. Well it's full of water, it's just the controller thats shot. A hundred bucks for them just to come out and diagnose, plus parts, plus labor to install the parts. And I'm single; the thing doesn't get that much use! I wonder how long it would last if it had a family's worth of laundry going through it. I hate service plans...with a quality product you shouldn't need one. But this is not a quality product so I guess just plan on adding $150 to the purchase price, or a couple hundred a year for repairs.

A little earthquake in your laundry room
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this washer mainly for the reasonable price and claim to have "Vibration Reduction Technology". The washer worked great for the 1st month and does a good job at cleaning the clothes, however, after about a month we started experiencing severe vibrations that shakes our entire house and the entire machine hops across the floor while in the spin cycle. Not exactly what you hope for when you buy a machine that claims "vibration reduction technology" and states that its even ideal for 2nd floor laundry rooms. We contacted Samsung customer service, only to result in hours/days of getting transferred from 1 person to the next and having to basically harrass them to get a simple call back, and when it came to actually getting the machine fixed well that just simply wasn't a priority for them. At first they sent 1 of their techs who diagnosed the problem as a hole and warping in the drum, but Samsung didn't want to pay for the tech to fix it so they sent out an additional tech to diagnose (all of which my husband and I had to get off work in the middle of the day to meet with). The 2nd tech conveniently said the noise was normal and walked away. Samsung has of course taken the stance of the 2nd tech and refused to fix our machine...so 6 months in were stuck with a hunk of junk that gives us an earthquake sensation everytime we do laundry....not a recommended product in my book! Nor will we ever buy a Samsung item again....it's appalling how their customer service center handled the issue and it became blaringly obvious that they would do everything to avoid actually rectifying the situation. If you were considering this machine, save yourself the headache.

AWESOME WASHER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first washer I have ever own. I got sick of going to the laundry mat so I bought this Samsung Washer and I love it. I guess it's quiet but since this is my first washer I have nothing to compare it too. Clothes come out clean and it's very easy to use. Wash cycles are long but that is my only complaint.

Buyer Beware - Machine won't spin
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't buy this machine if you have it in your basement or someplace that drops below 60 degrees! The machine can't balance the load or spin. There is oil around the drum that gets thick when it is under 60 - 65 degrees and the drum can't balance/spin. Samsung doesn't advertise this. Their solution to their design defect includes buying a space heater to heat the basement where the washer is located or run a load of laundy (or empty machine) on Hot/Cold. Boy, that's efficient!! Go to Google and search "Samsung washer won't spin" and see the complaints. A normal cycle takes 2 hours (not 58 minutes as shown when you start the machine) because it keeps trying to balance the load and will throw the cycle back into rinse. For those of you who read my review and think my washer isn't level, or I overload it, or I use too much detergent, you are wrong. I have had the technician SIT with me when I did a load of laundry. It is a nightmare. A very expensive mistake. I am still within my 30 days and will be trying to return it to Best Buy.

Great Washer and Stackable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I stacked this washer and a Samsung Dryer on top that saved a lot of floor space. This washer has all feadtures except for steam, that you do not need unless you have allergies. It has a self balancing feature that will not cause it to rock and make noise when the spin dry cycle starts. It isquiet, senses how big a load you have and how much water to use. Also you can use regular detergent, just use about half as opposed to that expensive High Efficieny detergent. Really great washer

Great Washer, easy to use, quiet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this washer as a floor model at a highly discounted price. So far so good but I have only had it for a few weeks. Make sure to drain out the little tube at the bottom of the washer if you do buy. Its very quiet as the family sometimes has no clue it is on (upstairs on 2nd floor with bedrooms).

Worth every penny!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought the washer and dryer. I love them! I have cut my normal 6 to 10 loads of washer in half. I should have bought them years ago. I use less water, less soap, and less electricity. My sister went and bought the same set. She feels the same way. They are the best item I have every bought!

Really Quiet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quiet, Large Capacity Easy to Operate and Cleans Well. It almost takes the boredom out of doing laundry. This is our first front loader washing machine so I don't know how it compares to others, but the Normal Wash cycle takes about 54 min. which is longer than our previous top loader. Overall, we are very pleased with this washer.

Love IT!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this washer! My husband works outdoors, his work jeans had been repeatedly washed and dryed (and scrubbed) all summer and still were not clean. We put them in on "heavy duty cycle" and they came clean!!!!!! I have used many of the cycles on the washer and have been very happy with all results!!!

Get foot pads!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I like this washer very much. It will move or "walk" as they call it during a spin cycle. It's fairly negligible initially, but if left without correction, you will see a 1ft gap between your washer and dryer. I bought "anti-vibration" foot pads, and the walking stopped. Get them at Amazon or Lowe's . Vibration is NOT the issue, this thing is very quiet.

Perplexed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this machine for about 3 days and I have to honestly say that I am perplexed at the amount of good reviews for this machine. Here is my list of complaints - and this machine is going back to Best Buy tomorrow - I didn't spend this much money to be driven crazy. 1.) The water valve on the machine cuts off so hard that it has my entire plumbing system in my house rattling (loud!) each time the machine turns off/on the water. 2.) The machine cannot figure out how to balance a load - you think the machine is finished and you go to get the clothes out and they are soaking wet. I had to "spin" a load dry 3 times - even after I went in and adjusted the load by hand to try to get it balanced. And the worst part is that you're not even sure where the load stopped. Did the clothes even finish the wash cycle? No way to tell. 3.) It takes 2.25 hours to do a load on the normal cycle. It says it will do it in 1.5 hours (way to long - my last machine washed a normal load in about 30 mins) but the time constantly adjusts itself. The only thing I can figure out is that it is constantly trying to rebalance the load. 4.) The machine is so busy slowly turning (to balance the load?? who knows!) that it wastes so much time doing nothing. I sat and pretty much watched an entire load being cleaned. It was amazing to watch the machine play with itself - turning back and forth - essentially doing nothing. How is this machine so efficient when a person has to spin the water out of the clothes so many times before they are dry enough to put in the dryer? I'm going back to a washing machine with a good old fashioned agitator in it. It's worked for the last 40 years... why mess with perfection?

Great energy saver

Sometimes You Get Unlucky
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I must have gotten the lemon considering the many positive reviews, but my experience with this washer was not a good one. Within the first week, we realized the spin cycle was not functioning properly. Large loads would not spin out properly, leaving the cloths wet in the machine when finished. After following all of the suggested fixes from Samsung (including "adding additional towels to the cycle to even out the load) - we decided to return the set and go with LG. I must not be the only one who has had this issue as there are a lot of “self-help” articles by Samsung about it. And – for those of you who remember your mother’s old Maytag, Kenmore or Speed Queen – why can’t they just make a washer that works, doesn’t have 100 error codes and can be loaded to capacity without wimping out? Bottom line - the washer is advertised as extra-large capacity but fails to be able to stand up to the rigors of weekly wash day. For those of you who are curious – the LG has been fabulous. Thank you to Samsung and Whirlpool (the set I had before the Samsung that didn’t last long) for helping me find the perfect washing machine – an LG!

Temperamental spin cycle
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My biggest problem with this washer is that it often has a hard time balancing the clothing during the spin cycle and therefore won't spin. On more than one occassion when left unattended I've come back to a "completed" cycle with a mass of soaking wet clothes because it couldn't get itself into balance during the spin cycle and eventually just gave up. If I baby sit it during the spin cycle and rearrange the clothes if I see it's having a problem it will usually eventually spin. For as much as this washer costs though it shouldn't require any management on my part. My old $500 washer certainly didn't. I got this washer at a significant discount over the listed price so I'm a little more tolerant of this (hence the 3 stars). If I had paid full price I would be very dissapointed and would likely be looking to return it.

Great washer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this washer 2 weeks ago. Runs extremely quiet, does an excellent job on the laundry with very little detergent. We only use 1 tblsp of liquid HE detergent and clothes come out very clean. The sanitize cycle is rather long, but does very good.
