Customers consistently note the positive impact of the convection feature, ease of use, and fast heating capabilities of the 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection Range. Many appreciate its attractive appearance and find it offers good value for the price. However, some users mention challenges in maintaining the cleanliness of the glass top and find the control panel somewhat complex. A few also point out that the stainless steel requires diligent cleaning.

This purchase was a bit unexpected, my husband and I went into the store to purchase a fridge that we had been looking at for 2 years and when we finally made the decision, we had looked at the range but it was never discussed that we would get it, and my husband asked me "would you like it" and of course I said YES! It has been the best OVEN ever! The elements heat up instantly, it has a nice warming pad on it, very easy to clean and maintain and with the convection feature, food is cooked in half the time, it's truly a wonderful oven.

First of all I always said I would never have a glass cooktop. Never say never. I am still getting used to this but so far I love the way it cooks. It's clean up is not as hard as I had anticipated. I let it cool off and used good hot soapy water and a paper towel to dry...shines like a new penny. I really like the hot surface light letting you know when it's safely cooled off. Love the rapid boil feature and the two front eyes adjust to pan size...just select the setting you want to use for the size pot you have. It's great. Now on to the oven....OH MYLANTA! I always wanted a convection oven...this one can be used convection or contemporary. Love all the bells and whistles...notifies you when the preheat temp is reached...Easy to used touch screen commands. The default temp is 350, which most things are baked at. Love the no bottom element thing. Haven't had it long enough to use the self cleaner, but I'm sure it will be great. Roomy oven...set the racks as instructed...baked some awesome cookies..two trays at a time...and FOUR casseroles at once.....with the convection setting I didn't have to swap them out from top to bottom halfway through the cooking...plus was able to bake them all at once instead of two at a time. It's safe to say I LOVE MY NEW SAMSUNG RANGE. Supper tonight was meat loaf, sweet potato fries and biscuits...The meatloaf was almost perfect after 30 minutes..so back in the oven along with the fries and biscuits...well 12 minutes later everything was perfect. The convection setting makes fries/fish/hush puppies/tater tots....all so evenly baked and crunchy it's like they have been deep fried without the fat and calories. Still haven't tried pizza or baked chicken yet...looking forward to that. Yes...I am one happy customer.

Regret This Purchase

Moved into a new home two years ago, and wrestled with the decision to purchase this model or a similar LG model we had in our old home. Chose the Samsung, and at first, the only regret was the the substantially-harder-to-clean cooktop. It cooked well enough - particularly the range - although the oven behaved oddly (cycling on and off too frequently). Now, at 2 years in, the control panel needs to be replaced as the oven partially quit and will only heat to 300 degrees after an hour of preheating. Really displeased, wish I would have chosen the LG (which is still functioning just fine in our old home, which we have rented out).

Beautiful stove, heats very quickly, oven works great, cooks evenly. Only negative is that the cooktop is difficult to clean if food is spilled during cooking. First time cooking, I spilled something and now I have stains that will not go away, very disappointing. I thought these cooktops would be much easier to clean than the old electric coil ranges.

I like simple appliances that work. Don't need frills. I like this range because the oven is very large. I can fit that Thanksgiving turkey in there with room to spare!! lol I like that it's convection too. Big oven and still have a lower storage drawer. I like that. I always wanted a gas stove for better cooking control, but I'm very happy with this electric. It heats quickly and stays consistent. But, the cooktop takes a long time to cool off.
I don't like the complicated control panel. I don't need settings for pizza or chicken nuggets. I prefer simple. I know how to cook. I also really like that the LED display is blue, much easier on the eyes than the other colors. I can clearly read the clock on the stove from across the room.

It looks good and performs decently, but a couple design changes could really elevate it.
The dual size burners are great to have, but the control knob is less exact at selecting a temperature because it has a shorter arc to work with so it's not the easiest to regulate temps. And I wish there was a light up hot surface indicator that showed the actual burner that is hot, not just a general indicator. And we've already got a couple scratches in the ceramic surface though we've only had it a month.
The oven is really large and that's great. It does take a long time to pre-heat but seems very consistent. Haven't tried convection yet.

So Far So Good

I was slightly nervous to purchase this as some reviews were great and some not-so-much. I wanted a Samsung oven to match my Samsung fridge so that is what attracted me to the brand. I've had the stove for about a year now and so far so good! Everything cooks evenly and quickly. The stove top is easy to keep clean with the right cleaners.

Replacement unit for an electric range. Heats fast and efficiently, takes time to learn how to set heat and cooking time on the convection (never had one before) but overall is a great unit for the family and budget shopper. We had our first test at Thanksgiving and it managed to get all the food done for a group of 10 with no issues. Cleaning in the oven is quick.
My only complaint - because I am a neat freak - is the fact that the glass top is sometimes hard to get clean and needs that extra effort to scrape and scrub.

i like the fast boil burner. Oven racks curl up in the back so my large cookie trays don't fit but convection oven is great and so far entire unit easy to clean. Also like the stovetop knobs - sturdy.

It took awhile to learn how to use this oven but once I got used to it I like it a lot. The cord connection in the back, however, is so large and bulky that it pushes the oven out so that I can't open a drawer because the oven is blocking it. I'm going to try to buy a cord that isn't so bulky so that I can push the oven all the way back or I won't be able to use that drawer. Other than that it's a very nice oven.

Both the stove and oven perform great. We went from an old coil system stove which we hated. Love the new cooktop, it's taken a bit of getting used to as med seems to be MUCH hotter than med on our old stove. The oven is great and cooks everything evenly compared to our old oven.

As far as reviewing the stove is concerned, I couldn't be happier. It a beautiful aesthetic. The display is easy to comprehend and navigate. The touch display is bright and sensitive. I like the lock out feature that keeps kids from activating the stove, or perhaps prevent you from brushing by it and inadvertently turning on the oven. No such feature for the burners. The stove top heats FAST! there is a true "bridge" element that turns the two left burners into a longer oblong burner for things like casseroles. There are 5 burner positions. The front right has 3 modes, and a fast boil mode as well. We originally wanted a double oven, but the versatility this offers with the flex duo insert was the selling point. I LOVE that it's a true dual convection (2 Fans) oven when separated.
I dislike that all the keys for the oven are touch and not dial. WHY? Because I have had experience in the past where the touch goes wrong and there goes the stove. Replacing/repair cost the same as a new one so when I discovered this. I wasnt to thrilled.
CON: and this is MAJOR so don't ignore. I've owned this expensive stove for two weeks and the front burner has developed spots below the glass surface. The manual states that "enamelware could scratch glass top, copper and aluminum pans may leave metal marks on the top, cast iron is not recommended, and glass cookware could scratch glass top"....I guess you must only use stainless pans for this stove. Not a good investment, not a good product...not a happy consumer.

Love the stove; especially the convection feature - food it cooked very quickly. My only con would be that sometimes the cooktop can be hard to clean once grease gets on there after cooking. I have tried glass cooktop cleaner but I still seem to have some residue.
