Nice stove but service from Samsung was very poor

I bought this to match our Samsung fridge, was happy with the sale price of $950 and had delivery postponed for about a month while I was remodeling our kitchen. After about 4-5 weeks the paint began to chip on the cooktop around one of the high output burners, so I went to BB and talked with the sales person that took my order. Much to my dismay he informed me that because I had not bought the BB extended warrenty I had to call Samsung about the problem, even though it had been delivered less than 6 weeks ago and I am a Silver Rewards member. I called Samsung the next day and talked to a Rep. who told me that because I admitted that I had used Windex and paper towels to clean the cooktop, my warrenty was voided for using an improper cleaner. Really, Windex, I never realized that Windex was considered an abrasive!! I am a retired contractor and have always recommended Windex as a safe cleaner for most houshold uses. I could not believe what I was hearing. I returned to BB and spoke with Customer Service about my experience with both BB salesperson and Samsung. They agreed with my concerns and had a new unit delivered a few days later. Since I was installing it myself the delivery people left before it was even unwrapped and much to my dismay the new stove had shipping damage that was not seen when it was placed in my kitchen. After another trip to BB a 3rd stove was delivered today and appears to be fault free. I hope! I own two Sansung LED tv's, a Samsung stainless fridge and now a Samsung stove but I doubt I will ever buy another Samsung product because of the service I did NOT receive from their Customer Service department. Customer Service at BB has been very good and I will continue to shop there but I will beware of certain brands that I previously perceived to be reputable. This stove is getting a negative recomendation based on Samsungs Customer Service.

    Wonderful Stove

So far this is a fantastic stove. I can't get over how evenly it cooks (either on top of the stove or within the oven). My previous gas stove (Frigidaire Gallery) would just fry my pans and burn everything. This stove comes with center griddle, which works really nice. So far everything I have baked has come out spectacular. Like what I have been reading, it can be tough to clean the stainless steel areas. But Windex sprayed on a paper towel seems to work pretty good.

Once this oven was installed correctly, the features, options and overall functionality quickly made the issues with the service company disapear. My wife and I bake and cook from scratch everyday and this range from Samsung fits our cooking lifestyle perfectly. We installed this in a new kitchen in mid-December and were able to do all of our holiday cooking with it so the range got a complete workout immediately. The versatility of the burner configuration made stove top cooking easy and efficient, and the convection oven and warming drawer made baking and warming / holding foods simple. The temps were extremely accurate, oven warm-up was quick, the griddle worked breat with pancakes, steaks and even toasted bagels. We love this range in our new kitchen!!!

Very Nice Upgrade for our home

So far everything has been fantastic. Really like the burners on top and the oven so far has done the job quite well. There are only (2) of us in the household so we have not had the occasion to fix large meals. The proof later will be fixing the Turkey for holiday company. We were also pleased with care the delivery folks took during the installation and making sure we were satisfied before leaving. After pouring through the user information, we do think more info. in regard to conversion of baking time to convection time would be helpful. Looking forward to many years of service. Thanks

    Great gas stove

We have had this stove for about a month. It was a great purchase. The oven bakes very evenly. Burners work well. Griddle that comes with the range is the most even heating griddle I have ever used, its non-stick surface is a little too slippery though (things slide off when you try to flip them). The black cooktop is hard to clean. Overall, I am very happy with the stove.

    Excellent Gas Range

Researched several brands and decided on the Samsung. I wanted a convection oven, with a warming drawer. I also wanted a cooktop that was powerful for quick boiling, this unit has it all. The oven is spacious, no problem with oversized items or cookie sheets. Bakes items evenly, no burnt edges/bottoms, and bakes much quicker with the convection feature. Styling of the unit is great. Really has a nice exterior look with the stainless front, sturdy knobs, iron cooktop grill, sleek door handles.

Beautiful looks (my wife compared this to Electrolux and Viking!) and awesome features make this one of the best buys in gas free-standing ranges available. We purchased the RF267AERS refrigerator with this and the two are beautiful together. Oven heats very quickly and convection works to help cook more evenly and quickly on most foods. One of the largest ovens by cubic ft. in its class. 5 burners including 2 simmer burners, 1 general cooking burner, 1 dual-stage boiling burner, and bonus wide burner with included griddle. Boiling burner is unbelievable and boasts some of the highest BTUs in this class. This is a great new addition to the already strong Samsung lineup of kitchen appliances.

I love, love, love this range. I purchased right before the holidays and the stove was perfect. Everything cooks evenly and moist. I was a little apprehensive abouth the convection because I've been cooking without for probably 40 years. But once I started using it, I became hooked. Everything turns out moist, evenly cooked, and fabulous. I would recommendend this stove to everyone. It is also beautiful! It has the WOW! factor! Everyone that walks in my kitchen is drawn to the stove and they want one, too!! I have had no problems at all and also bought the Samsung above -the- stove microwave to match. Absolutely NO problems so far. Also, free delivery was great.

    Oven temp too low

Loved the look and feel of this range and its many features. Top burners are great and top is easy to clean. Stainless requires constant loving (meaning rubbing with SS cleaner) to look good. The PROBLEM: the oven does not get up to temperature. I used it for several days knowing that something was wrong but giving myself time to adjust to the newness of the oven. First indicator that something was amiss: I baked crescent rolls on convection, they should take 9 - 11 minutes in a regular oven, they took 20 minutes to bake! Next trial: homemade pizza dough. I used the proof feature which made the oven slightly warm, that seemed OK for proofing, next I set the oven to 400 degrees, waited for the 6 beeps which indicate the temperature has been reached, set the timer for 20 minutes, then put the pizzas to bake. At 20 minutes the pizzas were not even close to being baked. I watched for the next 20 minutes and finally after 40 minutes of baking they were cooked enough to eat. Read manual and set oven temperature +30 degrees. Baked more food over the next few days to see if it helped, which it did but only slightly. Went out and bought an oven thermometer. Compared temperature that Samsung claimed to actual temperature on thermometer and the two were not close to close. There is a 70 to 100 degree difference between the two! Called Samsung (they were extremely polite) and set up a service call. Technician came, checked the heat elements behind the range, told us unit was functioning perfectly. He also said that in order "to save energy the ovens run cooler and you have to bake longer." REALLY? How does running an oven twice as long save gas? He also said that all new owners have to "get used to using the oven longer because it runs cooler... the oven thermometer is wrong and the Samsung temperature shown by the stove is right." I asked how can an oven that doesn't bake food in a reasonable time be working correctly? He told me I have to get used to it. Silly me, I thought a convection oven baked 25% faster, instead it takes nearly twice as long! I thought a temp meant something consistent, now I know that the new 400 degrees is really 300 degrees. The oven is supposed to reach 550 degrees but it can only manage about 450, occasionally it can reach 470, but there isn't even any consistency, setting it to 450 doesn't guarantee 350, it varies between 340 to 370. How can you bake a cake with that? I cannot live with an oven that does not do what an oven is supposed to do! Farewell Samsung! Our two week relationship is over. I am leaving you for a GE Profile. May the GE treat me (or at least my baking) better than you did. I will miss your warming drawer, which was able to get as warm as an electric heating pad, and the proof feature, which is a nifty feature, but I will survive without you (and maybe be able to finish cooking dinner before 8:00 at night. Don't let the door smack you in your misfuctioning thermostat on the way out.

I purchased this about a month ago and the range performs pretty well. The burners are good. Boiling burner really heats up the water quickly. The oven is a bit slow. I set temp to 375 degrees and it feels like it takes the same time as a 350 setting. Thus, extra 10-15 minutes of baking is required... but it is not a big deal. I like to slow cook anyways so it works perfectly for me.

I like my samsung stove very much. I like the overall look of the stainless steel range. I like the black grills on top of the range especially the griddle in the middle. I use the oven handle to hang dish towel after cleaning up the kitchen. The thing I least like about the range is the fact that if you prepare food over the range it can easily go down between the grills and and you have to take each grill off to clean it up. There are 3 removeable grills.

This is a great looking stove & also the way it works. At the moment we have been pleased with this stove. We have not tried the convection feature but we will in the next couple of months but we have faith that it will work good also. We recommend this stove to future customers as you will be pleased for the price.

The range is great. The burners are fast and I can finally do stir-fries and the veggies stay crisp. Food finally doesn't stick to my enameled cast iron pans. The oven heats up quickly and stays at temp. The overall unit is well-designed and looks great! We're very happy with this purchase.

    great stove cooks well BUT

The stove looks good and cooks well. The convection oven is not a true convection as advertised. The manufacturer needs to pull the stove and improve on the convection unit. Convection fan comes on for 5 seconds at a time. This is a very negative feature. If I didn't have another convection range in another location, I wouldn't know what I'm talking about. If you don't care about convection baking, then the 510 model would do the same job for less money.

Great stove, the power burner is powerful for boiling water fast or cooking with cast iron pans. The display is a tad too small and bright so reading the display is hard at night. Other than that is a great stove for the price compared to other brands.

    Oven door diffective

Purchased the stove end of October 2011 baked only once Thanksgiving Turkey after which tried self cleaning feature, did not work self-cleaned 2nd time still did not work then used cleaning sprays still not clean completely. So self cleaning forget it! However, the biggest problem I have is that water spilled on the stove and somehow consequently went through the two glass panels of the oven door. There is no way to get it cleaned it is there a long 1/4 inch streak. I have had two other stoves with glass panel doors in the past 30 years and never had this problem. I called Samsung customer service since it is still under warranty. I was told that "it is maintenance issue and not covered under warranty" gave me the local Samsung repair service representative in our area. She also told me that the glass panels were not sealed. How is it that dual pane windows are sealed and a self-cleaning oven door is not? I will not recommend this stove to anyone unless you like to decorate your kitchen with and not use it. This has been my first and last purchase from Samsung since their warranty is worthless. A brand new oven now looks dirty all the time. Samsung is expecting me to pay a repair person to dis-assemble the oven door clean the glass put it back and continue doing that every time any water or liquid gets through the glass panels. This is either a design defect or a defective door and not maintenance issue.

Love the stainless and black color combination. Love the 5 burners and the super burner. Pleased with the "child lock" burners which have to be pushed and turned at the same time to ignite the burner. Can hardly wait for canning season. The griddle is great for sandwiches, pancakes, and eggs. Convection oven works perfectly.
