Dont do it LEMON!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dont do it this fridge is a lemon. Im the owner of serial # W76643BF200478J. The ice maker located in the fridge compartment freezes over every month after numerous reports to samsung they make excuses that its your fault. Now it turns out they are getting hit on a class action because its crap. After so much frustration the display says you can turn it off and i did. I doubt that its truly turned off cause its now totally frozen over solid. Great! Thats not all for sometime ive had a gut feeling the primary fridge section was not running cold. However the display would always say its below 40 degrees. So i believed samsung. WRONG! I recently put in 2 seperate thermometers and both confirmed the fridge can barely get below 50 degrees fahrenheit. The coils are not frozen over, ample space around the fridge, doors close shut and thermistors in the fridge were replaced. Sounds like a universal problem for this model and everyone just gets the run around and filibuster from samsung till the warranty runs out....

The fridge is a lemon.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.read other reviews online- great design idea, but this fridge has an inherent problem that when it breaks, can't be repaired! Just went through a bureacratic NIGHTMARE of fiery rings to get refunded by Samsung, and will be without a fridge for three weeks, with 2 children to feed. Horrible- AVOID.

Ice maker issues resolved
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For everyone having ice maker issue, even years later, Contact Samsung support and they should service and repair it for free. They did that for me at least and the repair made, adjusting tubing and replacing ice maker control board, seems to have been a permanent fix.

Buyer Beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this fridge new late June 2014. Water dispenser drips all the time. We've had 4 warranty service calls and a 5th now scheduled. Samsung customer support has been HORRIBLE - parts replaced multiple times haven't fixed the problem, & Samsung is trying to blame it on low water pressure. Our previous fridge and all our neighbors have had no similar issue. This is a design flaw in this fridge. I want my money back but it's been a major battle with Samsung. The last (local) repairman they sent out said Samsung quality is one of the worst and makes up a lot of his business. Recommended going with Amana or Frigidaire.

DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Poor quality, poorer customer service from Samsung, NONEXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM BEST BUY. Best Buy would not and could not do anything because I didn't buy THEIR warranty. Come to find out, I live too far away from their store for them to have done anything anyway. I didn't get delivery nor set up (a massive perk!!) even after spending $5000. Samsung should not sell appliances in areas/states without repair services! I envy others who have been lucky enough to wait for a repairman! I shopped for YEARS looking for someone to make the suite of appliances I wanted, especially this HUGE frig. I went out of my way (2 hours away) and spent a FORTUNE thinking I was getting well made appliances. My stove had 2 issues right out of the box, the exchanged one's oven has ruined everything for 9 months because it runs between 100 degrees low to 50 high. The dishwasher doesn't clean very well and very hard to put dishes in because the tines are so close together. This frig was my dream come true but the ice maker broke and the convertible section only has 4 temp settings so the 2 frig temps either freeze my lettuce or lets food spoil quickly because it is so warm. Things don't even feel cold when you take them out. The broken ice maker: We think the float isn't working correctly so overfills the ice chamber, drips down and freezes around the bin. We first noticed we couldn't get crushed ice. The bin had become a solid block of ice and broke the little pin that changes the ice from cubes to crushed. So, we could not remove the bin. SAMSUNG WAS NO HELP! There are no repairmen available to adjust the float or replace the ice maker - a quick and simple thing. Their only suggestion was to unplug the frig for a couple days to let it thaw. (Where am I supposed to put 31 cubic feet of food? What makes anyone think this will solve the problem!?) We have defrosted the ice maker over and over and over. We have re-leveled the frig many times trying to get the leaking/overflow? to go down what looks like a drain in the back. We have altered the freezer temp from high to low trying to get it to cooperate. My husband has to remove the bin every time he wants ice cubes (twice daily). The rest of the family doesn't mind crushed ice so just uses the dispenser. Problem is, ice gets left in the crusher so melts all day, filling the tray and peeing down the front of the frig leaving dried water streaks. This is a $4000 frig! I shouldn't have to live like this! Samsung customer service is HORRIBLE!!!! They are completely unable to lend ANY troubleshooting help. They pass you back and forth between departments, waiting 1-3 days each time for call backs that rarely ever come, in hopes you will give up. They "successfully" close case numbers because they can't find a repairman in your area or solve your problem. No followups, no callbacks. You have to keep calling and pressing the issue and generating another transaction# which allows executive customer service to help you, generating yet another trans#. THERE ARE NO REPAIRMEN IN THE STATE OF MONTANA (the 4th largest state). I COULD NOT GET SERVICE. They want me to get this monster out of the house, rent a U-Haul at my expense, drive 2 hours each way to Best Buy, get another frig (that we have to order beforehand) and get the new one into the kitchen. Best Buy nor Samsung would help in any way in loo of sending a repairman. The real problem, THIS FRIG IS TOO BIG TO GO THROUGH DOORS even without it's doors installed. We had to rip the back wall of the house off to get it into the kitchen (and install a new larger door we had to wait for 2 weeks to order). NOW, after 6 months of complaints and troubleshooting, they want to do a buy back for the $2600 I paid for it. This frig is on SALE right now for $3100. It is going to cost me another $500 to buy another overpriced frig which will probably have the same problem!! I DO NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN with another Samsung product! I waited for 10 years for someone to make a BIG frig with a small freezer. This frig was IT!

Went for homerun
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When the refrigerator was first released at CES there was an LCD screen, but this one does not have it. The price is obviously a big factor because it is expensive, but the size is huge. After purchasing, I realized just how limited the two bottom spaces were. It was a cool idea to be able to change one from a fridge to a freezer, but just not enough space for bigger bulkier items. That divider space just takes up too much room. Also, the handle of the door is inverted inside, and makes it uncomfortable to open the fridge. i will give it a couple more weeks, but plan on returning it.

DO NOT BUY! DESIGN FLAW!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this refrigerator in March 2014, and very happy with it through the summer. In October we noticed only the freezer was working, and the top and lower right compartments had risen to 61 degrees and all the food had spoiled. We called samsung and were able to get a service call after 4 days of repeated calling. The repairman came out and replaced a temperature sensor and said that it should cool down in a few hours, but we monitored it and it never cooled down. We kept calling and the service center said if it wasn't the temperature sensor it must be the closed cooling system. He also mentioned that the repair man noticed a burning sensation on this fingers after he left our home, which further indicated leaking coolant. We were talking to both samsung and the service center trying to find out what we should do, when the repair man said since it was leaking some type of coolant from the system, it was basically not repairable and we would have to fight samsung to get a replacement. We eventually did get samsung to agree, but they would not help us get it exchanged exactly. They said the would do a buyback, which would be a check for the sale price we paid excluding taxes, etc. I cannot replace the refrigerator for the value they offered us. Nor can I repair the one I have. The repair man mentioned this refrigerator has a unique propane cooling system that may be unique to the convertible models. Seeing many new reviews popping up in the last few months about the same refrigerator having the exact same failure sure sounds like a design flaw. You have been warned!

Waste of money. Try another brand
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the layout and the idea, but the icemaker is absolute garbage. I'm waiting for the 5th visit in 4 years to get the icemaker to work. Defrost errors. Bad circuit boards. Broken ice doors. You name it and it has broken on this fridge. Crying shame. I honestly will probably never buy anything from Samsung again because of the recurring issues due to this poorly built fridge.

Only worked cooled for 8 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this for 8 months when the refrigerator stopped working and repairman said compressor went out and could not be fixed. We're working on what to do next. We paid 3280.69 for 8 months, THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE.

Posted .I'm very sorry to hear about your experience, BadproductSamsungrefri. While Samsung takes great care in ensuring the Refrigerators and other products are produced to high standards, unfortunately issues can happen. Please be sure to follow up with either Best Buy or Samsung's Customer Service team so they can take the appropriate measures to help resolve this issue for you as provided under the warranty.
Sincerely,
Ms. Samsung

Don’t ever buy a Samsung appliance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Take it from me. If you knew what I’ve been through with this fridge you would never even look at a Samsung appliance. Search the web. You will find lots of people who have had issues with their Samsung fridges.
