Almost Perfect But Nothing Is

Purchased this monitor to link up with my Mac Air and do some casual gaming with my XBOX series X. It has been great. The colors and clarity are fantastic and it really brings the games to life.
My only con for this monitor is the joystick button thing on the back. It can be a little difficult switching between HDMI ports some times. Some times it registers perfectly that I'm trying to switch but other times the joystick doesn't register. Overall a great product!

This monitor is junk. I bought it about a week ago locally and I'm ready to replace it. It's very cheaply made. The OSD looks like it's from a CRT monitor from the 90's The case is really cheap and attracts dust like a magnet. Everywhere I touched it setting it up is now covering in little dusty fingerprints. Maybe that a feature? Filters the dust from the air?
The out of the box image quality is just AWFUL. That's not unique to this monitor as every Samsung screen I've ever bought has needed major adjustments out of the box. But even once you adjust it there is no way you can actually call this an UHD display. It simply doesn't have the contrast. UHD is not just about 4K resolution. It's also about brighter highlights and darker shadows and blacks that don't hide the details and being able to display both at the same time. That takes a screen with a lot of contrast and this display simply doesn't have it. At least not outside of a viewing angle of about 30 degrees. As soon as you get off angle the contrast takes a huge nose dive. They claim a 170 degree viewing angle but that's a complete marketing lie. Just like the 3000:1 contrast. Those numbers are a total joke as I have a ten year old Samsung monitor at home that has 10000:1 silkscreened right on the bezel and of course no monitor now has a 10000:1 contrast ratio, never mind ten years ago. It's all just marketing hype.
I don't know if there is an actual 32", 4K, UHD monitor out there for this price point but it's not this one.
Oh, and Samsung really does themselves a disservice by not have these things adjusted properly out of the box. It's like a buying a new car and immediately taking it in for a tune up. I think part of their strategy is to simply get you to blame yourself for the bad image quality. 'Well it's good monitor, I just don't now how to adjust it better'. No, it's just a cheap monitor and that's as good as it gets.
I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the UHD quality of this model.
Please know that the Samsung 32" UJ590 UHD Monitor supports a billion shades of color, the UJ59 delivers incredibly vivid and realistic images. Its color accuracy means colors appear natural and true to life, making the UJ59 ideal for photo, video and graphics applications.

I've been using this monitor for 6 months 50+ hours a week and it's been flawless for work. Have not game on it, love the toggle ability from Display Port and HDMI and Picture and Picture ability.

Just purchased this, to upgrade from my current Samsung 28" Ultra HD 4K computer monitor. Very happy with the UHD 4K resolution, the super sharp videos and the streaming content.

The good: It can do 4k.
The bad: Panel uniformity was terrible on the left 1/3 of the screen. It was bad enough that my games and videos/movies would be washed out on that side of the monitor. There was also a minor uniformity issue on the right side that I could overlook but due how bad the left side was I am going to return it.
I am very sorry to see that you had panel uniformity issues with your monitor and have returned it. Your feedback is very important to us and will be shared with our product team.
