Overall, the Samsung Odyssey G5 34-inch 1000R gaming monitor is a powerhouse that has completely transformed how I experience games, making it an essential addition for any serious gamer.

I’m very happy with this monitor. The picture quality is excellent with sharp resolution, vibrant colors, and a smooth refresh rate. It’s perfect for work, watching videos, and gaming. The screen size and curved design make it comfortable to use for long hours without eye strain. Setup was quick and easy, and the build quality feels solid and premium. Performance is smooth with no lag, and the display looks amazing in both bright and dark scenes. Overall, this is a great monitor for the price, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for high quality and reliable performance.

First thing I would like to start of with saying is the CURVE is must, I personally love it! With every other post I could find over this monitor, in which there are not many out yet. People considered this a huge turnoff. I honestly think it makes it easy on the eyes causing less strain as to perhaps a non-curve ultrawide. Again this is my first UW so what do I know as this is my personal opinion but the 1000R curved screen feels right. The previous monitor I had was a 2560x1440p 144hz 1ms. The difference is noticeable since this has a fresh rate of 165hz but nothing that is as exciting if one was to upgrade from a 60hz monitor. I do notice quite a bit of ghosting while dragging dark applications back and forth from one side to the other side of the monitor. This still has me on weather or not I should keep the monitor. In hope that samsung perhaps releases an update here soon to address this issue. Is this even possible to release a fix in terms of causing less ghosting? Playing games expect some of the cutscenes or menus to be cropped out. This is common as these developers do no keep us in mind :3. Although I barely noticed after an hour gaming session on Cold War but was brought back a few times into noticing it after matches ended and the game went back to the menu screen. The monitor has inbuilt menu with features that allow you to change a few things Refresh Rate: Adjust the rate in which the monitor updates with new images each second. The options given are 60Hz, 100Hz, and 165Hz. Black Equalizer: This gives the user the option to adjust the brightness of the dark areas. The values given from 1-20, The closer the value is 1 the brighter the backlight will be. Response Time: This accelerates the panel response rate to make video appear more vivid and natural. The options given here are as followed Standard, Faster, Fastest, and Fastest (MBR). MBR stands for *Motion Blur Reduction in which reduces blur by controlling LED behavior. I myself have left this to Fastest. The Fastest (MBR) dims your monitor and is not as appealing due to brightness being brought down to near pitch dark. I would assume this is meant for those who like to play in the dark? I have not tinkered with this feature much. FreeSync: This features disables and thus controls the Refresh Rate, Response Time, Low Input Lag, and Screen Size. Again I have not tinkered with this and personally have kept it off as I would like to control the features list above myself. Low Input Lag: This minimizes input lag for fast reactions by reducing the video processing time. Virtual Aim Point: This has a digital crosshair right in the center of your screen. This gives you a choice between 6 different crosshairs. varying in 2 sizes (Small & Medium) and 3 different colors (Red, Cyan, & White) Screen Size: You can select screen size and ratio. options given are Auto, Wide, 17"(4:3), 19"(4:3), 19" Wide(16:10), 21.5 Wide(16:9), 22" Wide(16:10) 23" Wide(16:9), 27" Wide(16:9), & 29" Wide (21:9). There also happens to be a picture category with subcategories to control and choose the liking of inbuilt preset Picture Modes. Other in depth features that can be changed are the Brightness, Contrast, Sharpness, Color, Black Level, Eye Saver Mode, & Screen Adjustment. Although with all these features I am able to control. I still have mixed feelings over the picture quality of the monitor. It seems no matter what tinkering I do to try to get less of a ghosting, the colors which seem a little dull with not much life to it, the saturation playing a big part as to if I want to see a blur and then all of a sudden with the switch of a value everything looks garish and unnatural. I am going to give it a few more days till my brain and eyes adjust to this new monitor to see what my motives are, but so far the most important part of a monitor is a let down with day to day tasks. While playing video games there is not much difference from what I could tell.

The Samsung Odyssey G5 is an incredible monitor that truly stands out, especially for gaming and immersive entertainment. Its deep curvature and ultra-wide display wrap around your field of view, pulling you into every game, movie, or task with striking presence. The high refresh rate and fast response time deliver beautifully smooth motion and responsiveness, making fast-paced gameplay feel fluid and exhilarating. Colors are vivid and rich, contrast is strong, and overall image quality is excellent for both fun and productivity. Whether I’m exploring open worlds, racing through intense matches, or simply multitasking, the Odyssey G5 enhances every experience — it’s one of the best upgrades you can make for a more immersive and enjoyable setup

Seamless speed and perfect display for any use. Make sure you have ample room for this beast. It’s like having three screens in one! Occasionally loses connectivity, but otherwise perfect for both gaming and for research projects and other assignments.

I recently purchased this 34-inch ultrawide monitor, and it has completely transformed my setup. The picture quality is stunning, with vibrant colors, deep blacks, and sharp details that make everything from work to gaming an absolute pleasure. The ultrawide aspect ratio provides an immersive experience, whether I’m multitasking with multiple windows or enjoying a cinematic gaming session. The Samsung Odyssey G5 34” Curved Gaming Monitor is absolutely stunning! The 1000R curve is incredibly immersive, wrapping you right into the action whether you're gaming or multitasking. With a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, the visuals are buttery smooth and perfect for fast-paced games. The QHD resolution delivers razor-sharp clarity, and FreeSync Premium eliminates any screen tearing or lag—it’s a dream come true for gamers and content creators alike. But what really stood out to me was Best Buy's exceptional customer service. I found the monitor at a lower price elsewhere, and Best Buy's price match process was seamless and hassle-free. The team handled it quickly and professionally, ensuring I got the best deal without any compromises. This is hands-down one of the best gaming monitors on the market, and I can't thank Best Buy enough for their unbeatable service. Highly recommended for anyone looking to elevate their gaming or workstation setup!

Great monitor with bright colors. Performance is great and looks clear. The stand is strong although I’m using mine on a bracket wish gives better positioning. Overall it was a choice that I will definitely buy again within another week for my husband’s PC. This monitor is great for gaming! Recommended.

Always wanted a large curved screen, the 34” works great for what I needed it for. I it to use to make digital art needed more space on the screen to have different apps open. I can’t be any happier with my choice, easy to setup simple and does the job, was on sale and was delivered to the store with no issues, I’m loving it also great to relax and watch movies and I’m sure iogreat for gaming, what it was designed for, but I’m not a gamer, use it for artwork and works great.

Overall I really like this monitor, but it’s not entirely perfect. I love the curve, and it has an amazing crisp screen. The stand could be better, adjustment wise, but for my set up it’s not an issue. Would I recommend it, yes, if your looking for a ultra wide 34!

The monitor itself is great for both gaming and productivity - I use it for both work and entertainment and, once it turns on, it performs equally well in both environments. The turning on, however, is a bit of a problem for when it’s connected to my MacBook Pro. I have a dual setup and it works great when it’s connected to my Windows PC but it doesn’t always turn on right away when I switch it back to my MacBook Pro. I either have to wait for a while for it to turn on or unplug it and plug it back in again to make it come on. It’s a bit of an inconvenience but, considering it’s low price, I’m still fairly happy with my purchase.

Ease of use, the picture quality is great and the Hz quality is great. The Curve makes the picture stand out better.

The curve on this is the first thing you’ll notice and you just can’t go back to flat screens after. For gaming the immersion it brings when your whole field of view is your game is amazing! Great color, never seen ghosting and the built in menu is easy and intuitive enough. Only problem is you will have to adjust the colors out of the box as it comes very dull but with just a little tweaking it looks great.

I absolutely love this monitor. The colors are spot on, it's bright, The size is perfect for gaming, and the curvature adds to the immersion (kind of cliché, I know), but isn't too extreme where it makes my work awkward. (I'm a field engineer, so I use my computer for making maps and schematics.) The only thing I think this monitor could use, is adjustable height, but at this price-point, I'm not complaining. Supposedly OLED monitors look even better, but I'll stick with this for a good while, until I upgrade my GPU and can run games in 4K.

While gamers may rejoice, if you work with spreadsheets you might also rejoice! Originally purchased to play some games in ultra-wide mode and do some work, ive actually been more pleased using it for spreadsheet work! Who know having such a wide screen would be such a delight. I did find this on sale, which made the decision that much easier to pull the trigger on making the purchase. If you find it on sale and were on the fence - hop off and make the move!!

This review is for the Samsung Odyssey G55T. For a 2020 model monitor, even in 2025, it struggles with newer models from other brands. Even though it's a VA monitor, the colors are quite bright. My only argument is that it only has 250 nits and HDR works worse than without it. Still, the image quality is fantastic. This monitor is for pure gaming. Fresync is perfect on the monitor, and games feel smooth. I've always had high-end monitors. Before this monitor, I played on an OLED TV, and when I bought this one, I was prepared to be disappointed, but honestly, after calibrating the colors in the menu, I like how it looks. It's worth it if the price is $329.99 or less.

This is a phenomenal, clear monitor that I have had no issues with! I upgraded from an old Odyssey, and I’m so glad I did!

The Samsung Odyssey G5 C34G55T is a very good gaming monitor. It's an ultrawide variant of the Samsung Odyssey G5 C27G55T with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 3440x1440 resolution. It's a great choice for dark room gaming thanks to its high contrast ratio, allowing it to display deep blacks. It has a 165Hz refresh rate and native FreeSync variable refresh rate (VRR) support. Input lag is extremely low, but unfortunately, there are a ton of bugs that cause the input lag to increase and VRR to stop working. Also, it's not good for sharing your screen with others as it has narrow viewing angles, and the stand only allows for limited tilt adjustments. It supports HDR10 but doesn't deliver a true HDR experience due to its low HDR peak brightness and lack of a wide color gamut.

Very good dusplay. But just 2 things. Blacks sre not true blacks. If you really like true blacks then you need to think for other display options rather thaj VA displays. Solid 100+ hertz refresh rate. But if want more reaponsive refreshes go for 244 hz for hihgly smooth experience. But overall this is more than enough.

Great curvature for streaming movies and gaming. Since being my first curved monitor still getting used to it for daily work.
