    Buy the insurance

I love the washer- does what it supposed to. But after two weeks, a squeaking noise is heard during part of wash cycle and spin cycle. The noise got worse with each wash although it doesn't seem to affect the washing capability. We bought this just before Christmas so customer service was busy. we finally had enough of the high pitch squeaky noise, but by then BB said I'm outside my return/ refund period. We didn't want to return, just want service to fix the noise but because it's outside the 15 day period, they said they aren't responsible for anything. Called Samsung - took 3 tries because customer service center (outsourced to somewhere in India) has to put my order to local machine repair company (I'm in Sacramento) who in turn have to call me and schedule time for the technician to come out. Appointments were full for at least a week ( I'm thinking if my machine broke down I'll be very upset if I had to wait so long) before a slot is available for tech to come for troubleshooting. Tech showed today ( from Techtikon)- very professional and efficient. Opened the whole machine and added a noise filter ( a piece of foam to line the front metal cover of machine). It seemed easy but we would never have guessed it was that. We were thinking it was leveling issue and tried to fix the feet in different height which didn't help. In hindsight, I wish I bought the insurance!!! We didn't think it's necessary - c'mon im buying a Samsung !!! And we've owned Samsung washer dryer for past 7 years- never had a problem. The Samsung tech said he's fully booked everyday which tells you machines do break down. He did say this model ( esp front loaders) didn't seem to have that much issues. But the calls he get are usually when the unit is more than a year old which means it's outside the standard manufacturer warranty! Good to note that he said usually it's s maintenance issue that were lead causes of machine breakdown. There is a filter on the left bottom of the unit which he said we should periodically clean to keep it clean. Sounds simple ...have to make a mental note to do it. Another note is if you are considering this model, check with your local utility company for rebates. We didn't and found out the wf42H5000AW model (I think a couple cycles lesser than this 5200 model we bought) would have qualify the rebate which would have saved us $150. I'm sort of dissapointed to learn that stuff these days all necessitate warranty purchase on top because the rate of things falling apart and service costs are so high that IF you do need to make that call, you wish you paid for that warranty. Now, I'm just praying the machine will be ok beyond manufacturers 1 yr warranty.

    Best Investment EVER

This washing machine is, by far, the best investment I have ever made. First of all, much like the Tardis, this unit is far bigger on the inside. I kid you not -- after we had it initially set up, the first thing we did was just start loading laundry into it until it was about 3/4 full, not really paying attention to how much was going in. After taking the laundry out of the corresponding dryer unit, we found that the total haul was 30 shirts, 4 pairs of pants, two towels that got tossed in by mistake, and an entire laundry basket crammed full of socks and undergarments. Even more awesome, is that the machine spends the first minute or so doing some calibration spinning to judge how much laundry has been loaded into it, and adjusts the time accordingly, making sure that everything gets washed just right, with no waste of resources. I should also point out at this point that, even without "extra spin" enabled, the clothes came out of the washer almost dry, which made them super quick to finish drying in the dryer unit. Then again, I suppose this makes sense if you were to watch the washer running on the spin cycle... it runs so fast that the water on the door is forced vertically upwards. Yeah. Secondly, I don't know what magical creature Samsung has harnessed to power this beast, but this machine does the impossible. Let me explain: It's a long story, but our apartment super-flooded (unrelated to the washer, I might add) and, by the time all was said and done, we had around 30 towels covered in mildew. White towels. Black mildew. That's usually game over. Ever the optimist, I threw them all in the washing machine on the yet-to-be-used "heavy duty" setting, loaded up the soap (no bleach) and let them go. End of the cycle, I pull the towels out, and they're completely clean. Not one spot of mildew on them. A few month's later, a failed pocket checking attempt led to three ink pens detonating on a washer run and tye-dying an entire load of clothes. Not cool -- that's a lot of laundry looking at the dumpster. Again hopeful I put them back in on the heavy duty setting with just soap (no stain remover or OxyClean or anything), and let them go. Took them back out at the end of cycle... the ink was GONE. Every last drop. Gone. Like it never happened. (Anyone with family members involved in sports, or that has kids in general, heed the above. It'll save you a LOT of money on not having to replace clothes. The key here is to use COLD water in conjunction with the heavy duty setting.) Tales of epic feats aside, there are a few other things that I enjoy about this unit. It's quiet. Tiny little apartment plus light sleeper usually results in the inability to run laundry while napping. Not so much the case. Additionally, the allergen setting has been really helpful with the spring/summer starting to pick up. To top it all off, it SINGS. At the end of cycle, the washer (optionally -- it can be disabled) sings out a happy little ditty that raises the spirits of everyone in the area. Only a machine could be that pleased about doing laundry...

I had this washing machine for a month and so far I haven't had any problems with it. Delivery was on time and after reading the manual it was ready to do laundry. I didn't get the pedestals and actually I think its best if the machine sits on the floor. It washes quietly and you don't even hear it running until it is spinning the clothes out. I don't know why some people complain that it is loud when spinning. Yes it does make noise when on the spin cycle but that is normal. Sometimes the machine does get off balance but the machine stops itself and automatically balances itself. This is normal for a front load machine because the clothes are tumbling unlike a front load washer where you place the clothes evenly and they stay that way. I tried every cycle on this washer and I think my favorite is bedding because it uses the most water. It does clean clothes real good even on normal which uses the least amount of water. The first load I did I had a shirt in the washer with oil stains from frying food and the washer took the stain out and I was impressed. Some people complain that there is water in the soap container, mine doesn't have water in the soap container. Maybe they didn't level the machine good? Also with the soap container the plastic inserts act as siphon cap, so if you don't leave the blue liquid fabric softer plastic piece in, the water will not drain. This is a good washing machine and I haven't had a single problem with it. Just remember to REMOVE THE SHIPPING BOLTS, Level the machine and RUN THE CALIBRATION MODE by pressing Temp and Delayed end at the same time then press the start button. Calibration mode is important because once the machine is leveled and isn't wobbling on any of the 4 corners, the calibration modes adapts the machines drum spinning and provides a more accurate weight level for water to be added to the machine. Now to save for the matching dryer. I am in love with laundry now, the machine performs beautifully and she is a beauty to look at too. Laundry is no longer a chore with this machine, it is a pleasure.

Pros: 1. It weighs the load to adjust times, even though the selection shows a certain time for each kind of cycle. 2. There is a Child lock, so those little fingers cant do anything once the washer is locked and on. 3. Clothes come out virtually dry. All reviews have stated this, its true and a much appreciated pro. Sometimes when the load is small I can dry out the things on a stand, and it takes about an hour to dry them out completely. 4. Drains well. No left over water in the detergent/bleach compartments. Cons: 1. The buttons are digital touch, so there is no feeling of pushing buttons. Can be finicky sometimes. 2. Cannot change the settings (adjust time etc) once the washer is on. 3. If the child lock was enabled during the wash, you would have to turn the washer power back on to unlock the child lock, and then open the door, if you wait till the end of the cycle and power shuts off. 4. Some deep stains have been left behind. I use Persil 2-in-1, and Resolve. Results might vary when using another detergent, but not sure by how much. 5. Loooong cycles. Especially if you use the sanitize or allergen cycles. I like to run household underwear in the sanitize cycle, but the loads are usually small and it seems like a waste of resources, and not so good for the clothes to be soaking for 2 1/2 hrs. For some reason, it does not seem to weigh the load and adjust time on a sanitize cycle. IMPORTANT * I initially had a problem with water left over in the detergent/bleach compartments. After every cycle, I noticed water back up all the way to top of the cups, then the Geek Squad guy (thank goodness, we took the ext. warranty), told us that the blue compartment separator should always be in, because though a plastic one, it creates a siphoning effect to drain excess water. Before he told us that, I did not think we needed it in there, because I hardly used bleach. Also, make sure the water pipe coming out from the back form the washer does not have too much of a 'dip'. Apparently that causes some trouble with the draining.

    High maintenance get protection plan

I purchased this washer when I decided that top loaders were too tall for me and very few washers have agitators. It comes with a lot of cycles half of which I have no intention of using but I like the fact that i can choose my wash temperature, rinse, and what type of spin cycle to use. I have learned through trial and error that you need very little HE detergent (I always use liquid) since the machine measures your load and gives very little water. 2 1/2 tablespoons are all you really need. I purchased the 5 year Geek Squad protection plan with my purchase and just had to use it in less than a month because excess water was backing into my detergent and bleach dispensers. The technician came out and saw that part of the problem was that my external drain hose was all the way at the bottom of the drain pipe. He clamped it and reviewed with me how to properly care for it. I was doing some of these things anyway but I took notes. When you have finished your laundry for the day make sure to wipe the inside of the door completely, check the diaphragm for any "hair" that may have got caught during washing, wipe the drum, and then remove the detergent compartment, take out the detergent and fabric softener inserts (the bleach compartment is not removable). Wipe these down and wipe the inside of the space left and let air dry. Finally, leave the door open when not in use to keep the water stench away. In using the washer I've noticed that even though it may start with a longer time cycle it will shorten depending upon the size of your load. Clothes come out clean and now that I'm familiar with how much detergent to use I shouldn't have that over detergent smell since I was experimenting with it. The Geek Squad did order me a replacement part dispenser since the technician was concerned about some of the water still left in there after the cycle. I'm grateful I got the protection plan since this is my first time I'm learning how to wash clothes without an agitator and I'm protected for 5 years. The instructions can be a bit confusing but I'm grateful I can talk to someone who can help me.

To start, and this is more to do with Best Buy than the actual dryer, the guys who "installed" the dryer, seemed to do an awesome job and we tipped them well as they were fast and easily moved 2 bulky old machines for us. They also taped up the trap door on the bottom that they likely broke and cracked the dial on the washer. I thought, at first it was where the plastic ended until I went to take the plastic piece off and noticed it didnt exist. Upon closer inspection, they taped shut the little door on the bottom of the machine because it will not stay closed without it. So they know they did it. But whatever, with three kids it will likely get broken eventually anyway, and none of the damage would impact performance. First thing I noticed is not much water goes into the machine. Making me skeptical about how clean the clothes were getting but I put on an extra rinse, and that is what being low efficiency is all about right? Any clothes started coming out still smelling like worn clothes, but it didnt seem too bad and I really hate to complain and really do not want to deal with this, I just hoped it would go away, like maybe the machine just needed to warm up or something. Well my 5 year old wets the bed sometimes and I got his clothes in first thing this morning and my fiance asked me to smell it and they still smell like urine. The cycle we are using now BTW is the one that takes 3 hours! This machine is terrible, and I dont know how anyone could recommend it after using it for awhile.

Great so far, but different from my old top-loader

Our venerable old stand-up washer finally gave up the ghost. We've had this new one for a month and a half and so far it's great. Quiet, efficient, and gentle, and plays a happy jingle when the laundry's done. It does take longer to run a load than the top-loading kind on average. For our slow-paced household, the benefits outweigh the extra time per load, but your mileage may vary. On the plus side, the digital display will tell you in advance exactly how long your load will take based on the settings you've selected, which lets you plan your loads very precisely. One small problem though is that there's no easy way to "fast forward" a cycle in progress. On my old stand-up you could just spin the dial a few notches further; with the digital display, the only way that I've found to speed things up during the wash cycle is to turn the machine off, then turn it back on, then initiate the "rinse and spin" cycle separately. This is pretty painless in practice (the machine turns on and off quickly) but a little more flexibility would have been nice. This is a fairly minor quibble, though. This has been a great washer for our household so far. It's made me more conscientious about how I do laundry, since I have so much control over spin speed, temperature, and extra cycles. My clothes spend less time in the dryer because they wring out so well, and at the same time they show less wear and tear than before. Lastly: I've heard a lot of different opinions on how long these front-loading washers last. Some people say they break down within a few years, others say that was only an issue with the early generations and those bugs have been fixed. Still others say that you won't have trouble as long as you use the washer within specifications. So, we're going to do the best to keep it in good condition: leave the door open after you're done to prevent mildew from growing, don't load the drum past 50%, use only HE detergent (most brand names are HE nowadays but make sure you check; it's marked on the package) and clean the filter every two months. Hopefully this washer will be with us for a long time.

We purchased a front load washer two months ago and it is now broken. The machine stalls out before it gets to the spin cycle and will not complete the wash. I sent in a service ticket online which was frustrating in itself. You have to upload a RECEIPT in order to submit the ticket. However, after trying a Word doc, pdf and then trying to shrink a pdf the file was "too large" to submit. As a last ditch effort, I took a picture of my computer screen and uploaded that instead. We were contacted for an explanation of the issue and then were told a tech would follow up which he did. They determined there was no one in the area to repair the washer and that we would be issued an exchange/store credit to get a new one. However, they would need a copy of our receipt emailed to them. (Even though you can not submit a ticket without a receipt). We jumped the hoop and emailed the receipt. We then received a phone call that they have not received a receipt and have cancelled our ticket. We call again. Same response. They need a receipt. I email it again and then they give me a number to text it to, which I do. We receive a phone call that our ticket has been cancelled since no receipt was received. I call and have it out with support. He tells me..."You need to submit a receipt by email." No further discussion. He gives me a different email address. I email another receipt and it bounces back because it is a bad email address. Plus, I text it one more time. We then receive ANOTHER phone call that our exchange ticket has been cancelled again due to no receipt. Now I have uploaded, emailed to two different addresses (four times) and texted the receipt. Apparently, modern technology is not part of the Samsung culture. The support staff are barely able to communicate in English and do not care about customer service. Not sure where to go from here. I am now on hold contacting them for the 6th time by phone to probably be told that my receipt was never received. It is B.S. and we still can't wash our clothes. NEVER AGAIN!

We are happy with our choice of machine after a few weeks of use. This is our first front-loader, and replaces the four year old Samsung top-loader that was recalled. We have not tried the steam setting yet, so cannot say if it is a valuable feature. I refused to buy new hoses from the store because the ones they had were too restrictive. That is to say, the hole in the hose fitting was smaller than other makes of hose, which would restrict the flow of water to the machine and possibly cause malfunctions. I had read the customer reviews on the store hoses and was warned about the small openings in the hose fittings. The store manager agreed to waive the "no free installation unless you buy our hoses policy" once I explained their hoses were unsatisfactory. I bought new stainless steel braid-covered hoses elsewhere, which had larger openings in the fittings. I also used two new "Mini-Resters" to prevent water hammer when the machine valves operate. I replaced the OEM black rubber hose washers with silicone rubber washers. The plumbing connections are hidden behind the machine, so it is important to do everything possible to prevent leaks. When the machine was delivered, I found that new hoses were included with the machine, but they did not have the stainless steel braid covering, so I prefer to use the new hoses I bought. Another thing I did was to have the installers set the washer and base on four round hard plastic cups with foam rubber inserts on top. Those devices let one person easily and quickly slide the very heavy machine over the carpeted floor in case it is necessary to get access to the water fittings on the rear of the machine.

I've had this washing machine for two months. I was leery of buying another front loader due to the mold build up on my previous Kenmore Washer), but after reading tons of reviews and checking Consumer Reports I decided this was the way to go. Pros: -They've redesigned the tub so it drains the water out. I have no sitting water in the rubber gasket to wipe out. This means no mildew! -sleek looking design. Easy to use and figure out. -Huge capacity! I can do twice as many loads as my old machine. -Child lock to prevent kids from messing with the dials -Spins the clothes out really well. Even though I have a smaller dryer, I'm still able to dry my clothes faster because they are so well spun. -Cleans very well. Clothes don't have residue. -Gentle on my delicate items. -loads stay balanced. No more having to open the door and rearrange items mid cycle. -quick wash cleans well if I'm in a hurry. Cons: -Wash times are ridiculously long. The sanitize cycle is 2.5 hours! -I haven't noticed a huge improvement in stain removal (even with steam) over my old machine. -the machine is quieter overall, but the spin cycle can get very loud. My machine is balanced, but it still vibrates. I have a second floor laundry room, though, and have heard this is a common problem. -This model doesn't come with a sport cycle I have been very happy with this washer. I would recommend.

    Noisy Washer for one person

I chose the washer and dryer for its great, sleek look and it matches my space, wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive, was happy to have front load and new! the washer is meant to be stuffed full and I am just one person so that isn't going to happen so the washer rocks/rattles when it is trying to balance. its okay for the most part. Best Buy did address my concerns. The first delivery guys dropped a cap and screw driver down the washer pipe and couldn't get it out so I had to have a plumber cut the dry wall and cut the pipe to get it out and then install a new pipe. Then a dry wall person had to come fix the wall and I was able to paint it and then Best Buy sent another crew to actually install the washer and dryer. Needless to say I was very frustrated by the time this all took, the damages that occurred and the multiple people in and out of my new house - all the time it took me to clean up after each of them, the time off work it took me and the lack of having a washer week to week BUT I will say that every time I called Best Buy, they answered my calls and let me vent my frustration. I was pointed to Breanna ( I will not use her last name ) and she took care of me 110%. She understood why I was so upset at times and was very sympathetic to the situation. If it was not for Breanna, I would have returned everything to Best Buy and they would have lost my business for life time. She really salvaged the relationship and respect I have for Best Buy and she made me feel like my concern mattered. I was quite impressed by the time everything was done at how pleased I was at the service I received. I have never had a reason to bad mouth Best Buy because Breanna was always there to answer my call and my questions and help the best she could in fixing a bad situation. There were a couple of the install folks who I really respected and appreciated too but I cannot remember their names, sorry.

    Fit existing pedestal

Our last Samsung washer only lasted around 5 years, which is way too short in my opinion, especially for a low usage situation. The bracket that holds the drum broke (a known problem). This machine is very similar, but we needed one that would fit on our existing pedestal. That rather limited what we could purchase. The machine does not have a separate setting for adjusting the temperature of the wash and rinse cycles. It also does not have any adjustment for sound of the 'wash done' signal. It's either loud or off (and it is a long, long signal). Clothes seem to clean ok but the spin cycle still leaves the clothes a little wetter then our old one. Not a big deal really, but I'm sure it adds slightly to the drying time. The color and style is also somewhat different then the model of 5 years ago. Now the dryer and washer do not quite match, but it's not like they are in the living room and get visitors looking at them. Hopefully this one lasts longer then the previous one, or I might rethink the brand as our dryer also has needed several repairs in the 5 year period. Also just as a side note, Best Buy sales told us this washer would fit our 5 year old pedestal, when the delivery guys arrived they said it would not and weren't even going to try (it for sure does). On delivery status I received a phone call saying delivery was around noon then I received a text saying around 5pm. So I called and was told for sure it would be around 5pm. Next morning I got a text saying they would be there around 5pm. Doorbell rings at noon and there they were. I feel sorry for people who actually schedule their day around a delivery time. They told me they have this issue all the time. Also they hooked up hot and cold to wrong outlets.

Previous owners of the home I bought left their old washer and dryer. They both had to be 15 - 20 years old. So it was time for an upgrade. I found this beauty at Best Buy when they were having their Labor Day sale on Washer and Dryers. I purchased the matching dryer (Platinum color looks great). This thing is quiet and you can barely hear it during the spin cycle. I can't wait to see the water bill because it barely uses any water and my clothes come out clean and smelling great! The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because 1) The 'Bedding' cycle selection doesn't light up when turning the cycle select knob. 2) Everytime a load is washing it sounds like it's leaking. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be making that sound. I've had the washer for 2 weeks and I haven't found any water on the floor so maybe it's just me. Lastly, I also purchased the matching pedestals. Samsung has to find a way to bring the price down on these things. Why not take away the drawer function, since they're on the small side, and just make a metal block that the washer and dryer sits on. Sell them for $150ish each and everybody would be happier.

My eight year old Kenmore Elite dryer broke, so I decided to get this new set rather than just replace the dryer. Therefore, I am still in comparison mode. I did not need a very expensive set and this Samsung seemed to be a good washer for the money. It does get my clothes as clean as my previous washer. However, the wash time is about 15 minutes longer than my old machine. There is not a warm water wash/cold water rinse choice on this machine. I was told by Samsung that it was a government ruling. I do not know how that could be, but that is what they said. There is a warm water setting, but no one could tell me if it is for the wash cycle or both wash/rinse. I have also noticed that I have to do an extra spin cycle on my king size sheets in order to get all the water out. The "eco" selection does not use enough water to clean clothes, and is worthless (IMHO). I have had to call Samsung three times to ask simple questions. They have three departments: sales, tech, parts. They were able to answer one question once I got the correct department. Question concerning warm water was never answered. Also, I wanted to be sure I ordered matching color pedestals and needed the correct suffix. None of the departments could answer that simple question. I finally got my answer by calling Best Buy. I am comparing this machine to my previous more expensive machine. I do not expect it to have all the options a more expensive machine would offer, but the extra spin cycle on my king sheets and the difficulty in getting simple questions answered by Samsung drove my rating to three stars. In view of this, I would recommend to a friend only if including the Geek Squad protection package, and would suggest that anyone getting this machine do the same.

Samsung - 4.2 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle High-Efficiency Steam Front-Loading Washer - Platinum Should of taken more caution with the negative reviews from other buyers but did not. Washers tub was out of balance and would almost walk out of the laundry when spinning. I have NO complaints with Best Buy or the service I received from the Assistant Manager Mandi or the appliance Mgr Jason. Jason gave me a 800 number to call to have Samsung come look at this unit for defects. I might as well been talking to a wall with the gentleman who I asked for help. If he told me once, he told me a half dozen times " Not Samsungs problem, Set is unlevel, need to call install with Best Buy- they fix problem". Maybe since I am a woman he assumed I didn't know how to read a level- - wrong! I and my husband had put a level on this unit each time it was used and it was perfectly level, but the drum wanted to crash thru the door of the washer. So in my book, yes it was Samsungs problem, not Best Buys! I did what the guy from Samsung told me to do to reset the machine, it didnt help either. I finally gave up and knew I was getting no where with him so I went and talked to Jason. He had the unit picked up and I chose to replace this one with Whirlpool. ( Which works perfect) Thank you Jason. Never again will I go against reviews and buy another Samsung unit. Thank you Best Buy and I will continue to buy from you. I appreciate the help from your two store employees.

I'll start this review with stating up front I can be extremely difficult to get to commit to expensive purchases. With that said I did A LOT of research into washers and dryers. I bounced between the pros and cons of each major brand and each different model under each brand. I tried to figure out why they decided to remove the agitator from top loaders! Big mistake! Huge! Why HE seemed like a great idea?!? I mean who doesn't love using 3 cups of water for an entire load of laundry! Why pedestals are so ridiculously expensive when honestly they really should be part of the package, or at least the machines should be a minimum 12" taller! With that said I decided on the Samsung front loading washer. It offered plenty of options for most any washing situation. Unlike LG models the Samsungs also offer the ability to spin the clothes, should they have to much water left in them, WITHOUT adding more water! The lack of this option immediately removed all LG models! The washer is easy to use. The controls are all pretty much self explanatory. It holds a lot of clothes to help cut down on the time it takes to do laundry. My only real complaints, and the reason I only gave it 4 stars is that the price of pedestals, which I view as a mandatory item just to raise the machines a bit higher, are far too expensive! Also despite being completely level I frequently have to push the washer back into place as it likes to move a bit.

I recently purchased Samsung 5200 washer/dryer set for my new home. White option was sold out, so I had to pay additional for the platinum color (paying extra just for the color was not my plan). Luckily though, best buy started a sale shortly after my purchase and I was able to get the price matched with no problem. I read the reviews in detail before my purchase, so I knew how long cycles take. No complaints there. Normal washes take ~50-60 mins depending on the spin cycle. Machines are quieter than I expected. My laundry closet is nearby my living room and even though the closet doors are open during the wash and dry, the noise does not bother me at all. I only had a minor issue with one of my washes where I selected low spin cycle and apparently if there is water left in the washer, the door does not unlock. I had to run the machine in spin cycle only for couple more minutes and the door unlocked after then. But other than that, no issues so far. Kudos to BestBuy for matching the sale price after my purchase and the delivery and installation.

My husband and I bought this washer based on the reviews. HUGE MISTAKE. About 7 months into having the washer, it completely stopped working. The drum would no longer spin, and it was useless. "Luckily," we were within the manufacturer's one year warranty. OH MY GOD, SAMSUNG WAS A NIGHTMARE TO WORK WITH.- an incompetent customer service team with a terrible system. Not exaggerating, we had to make 20+ calls, each of which we were referred to someone else, and told the same thing every time, "we will call you in a few days." They sent two separate repairmen out who looked at the machine, shrugged their shoulders, and said they couldn't help. It is now OVER ONE MONTH after we placed the initial claim, and we are still waiting for our refund. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG. Faulty product and customer service that was horrendous beyond words.

I had previously had a top load standard washer. Had heard others rave about how much they loved this washer so I did about a month of research. I've had this for roughly 10 months. I must say that I could not believe how much softer my clothes feel and the fresh smell was incredible. I wash a lot of things from bedding, curtains, dog blankets. I love the versatility of this washer. Sometimes I will even wash my clothes or towels on "quick wash" just because it does so well. Did I mention how quiet it is? Well I must! Going from my old whirlpool top load which sounded like a lawnmower running in my laundry room to this Cadillac of quietness! It took me a while to adjust. Kept going to check if I turned it on because I never could hear it, except on the spin cycle! I even removed the door off my laundry room. My advice is if you haven't used a front load, read up on the manual. There are some variances from top to front load such as leaving the door open when not in use so it can dry and air out, cleaning the drain about once a month, which is very easy to do. And the clean cycle is incredibly nice! I've only pretreated some clothes once or twice compared to frequently with the top load I had. This Samsung gets them clean and smelling great! Steam feature is great too which I never thought I would use. I spoiled myself with this purchase. I only wish I would have got the GeekSquad protection with it too. Just because I believe this is a washer I'll have forever.

I had purchased a Samsung fridge and was very pleased with my purchase, so I decided to get a Samsung washer and dryer. Prior to that, I just had a basic GE top loading washer that lasted me over 10 yrs without issues. Samsung washer worked awesome until 9 months from purchase. The spin cycle kept going from 7 mins back to 10 mins and it would take over 3 hours for the cycle to finish. And when it did finish, the clothes were still damp and the drum smelled musty. Thank goodness we were still within warranty! Spent needless hours on the phone with incompetent people at Samsung customer service. They have no experience in repair service, but must go through a list of basic troubleshooting things with you before they can send out a service tech. 2 wks later, we finally get a service tech out. He replaces the sensor. The washer continues to have issues with the spin cycle. Service tech comes back out and repairs a few other things involving the wiring. Washer then starts spinning very hard and then we are back to the same issue with the spin cycle. We have leveled the machine to the tea and still having issues. Repair man will be back tomorrow, but it has been quite the headache. Not sure if all front loading washers have these issues, but makes me wish I would had purchased a cheap top loading washer instead.
