Got this TV during one of the Holiday sales, and love it. Beautiful picture, easy setup, sound is very good. Just wish Samsung had made a more responsive remote.

This 40" is as good as a $2,000 120hz model, it has amazing quality and there are no artifacts or bluring, it would be nice to have 120hz but on a 40" you dont really need it. I have a Xbox 360 and a Blu-Ray player hooked up to it and and it is really amazing looking. Way better than my old 32" 720p Vizio plasma that burned in after 5 minuets of use. LCD has really made advancements in there technology, there almost matched picture quality to plasmas. great menu and plenty of imputs for PS3 or 360, sound system. Great LCD HDTV, Deffinent buy, and for 900 bucks its a steal.

This TV has a beautiful picture but I was unpleasantly surprised at how bad the audio sounds. No matter how it's adjusted, it just sounds flat and muddy. I guess that is the drawback of making a television that is only a few inches thick. I bought the set for my wife and she doesn't want the clutter of 5.1 speakers all over her TV room so I had to go with a sound bar, which greatly improved the sound.

TV overall is great. However the remote has poor response. if it's not pointed the right direction the TV doesn't respond to it... sore on the arm after channel surfing but the quick fix was the universal remote that came with the HD box through our cable company. The menu is somewhat confusing at first, but good once you get the hang of it. Overall very pleased with the picture and features.

I bought the 40 inch Samsung TV in December after considering other brands and having a Samsung 32 inch that was a great purchase. There was a good promotion on the TV. I wanted something that has a good track record and is reasonably-priced and bigger for the living room in the new residence. This TV has decent sound , dependable and great picture along with being dependable. It is fun to watch ball games on the TV. Setup was a breeze. Overall, I am happy with the TV and would recommend the product to others.

This TV is literally the best deal in Best Buy and is beautiful, picture, sound, body, everything. I'm a home theater tester and I test different combinations of tv's, remotes, surround sound, etc. If you want this TV i'd suggest including the whole theater with it and hears what to buy. More Samgsung products, buy the samsung dvd 5.1 surround sound and subwoffer, only $229, and the samsung blue ray player, (the one priced as $229) these work, look, and sound the best with this tv. I bought this TV for my fiancé and he absolutely loves it. I loved the price and the picture and quality of this TV is awesome. I did my research and if you are having troubles decided between a LCD and a plasma go with the LCD it doesn’t leave the black spots like a plasma would and you can enjoy playing video games on a LCD without worrying about pausing the game and returning to a still picture that stays on the screen for a few days. Overall it’s a great TV I would recommend it to anyone.

We went into Best Buy looking for a good TV at an affordable price that would work with our DTV. The manager suggested we get a Universal Remote, that way it would not matter if this set was compatible. But it was and we can return the unneed remote. I can not believe how easy it was to set up this TV. It is on a high cabinet, yet we were very comfortable lifting it after the base was attached. Another few minutes and all the assorted cables were connected and we began enjoying our new TV!

This is my second Samsung HDTV and I am again very pleased with the great picture quality and the ease of use. However, if you plan on having this set as your primary TV, you should invest in a surround sound system or a receiver. The speakers are located at the bottom of the TV and not of the best quality for movie viewing or sporting events.

This Tv is way slimer than the previous model the 40a530.... it has rich colors, and deep black levels. The picture just looks so realistic. The price for this set makes it a steal! Speakers arent that great but i dont care i will soon be purchasing a home theater system. User friendly menus from the remote and many feature to enhance the picture quality.

This is an excellent TV. You will need to upgrade to HD TV if you don't already have the service or the picture will not display the way it's supposed to. Looks great on a black glass TV stand if not installing on a wall. The new slimline TV's all need a better sound system source, so I will eventually get a soundbar or home theater system to boost things up, however it's decent without one. Love my Samsung!

The TV is great. The picture quality is really good. I don't have HD tv and it still looked good. Nothing to complain about there. The sound at first was not that great. I figured I needed to get a stereo system to hook up to it, but I got used to it and now it's fine. I will eventually get surround sound, but without it, you still get OK sound. I would definitely recommend you getting this TV. I'm loving it.

I love this television. The picture quality is great. However, it could stand a little more volume. Also, the touch panel doesn't light up making it hard to turn the television off/on in the dark without the remote. This can be aggravating. Other than that I think this is a great television.

I researched a ton of places before making this purchase and narrowed my results down to about 5 different tvs. i walked into best buy and just looked at which was my favorite before viewing this one (i did not look at prices) and this one had incredible picture quality and i liked thiis one the best.The tvs i was comparing this too had prices of $1500. Ive had this 2 months and it was a great buy.

I bought 2 of these as I saw them on sale for $660. I use them as dual display computer monitors and its the best decision I made. Why use a little computer monitor anymore when you can use your tv as a monitor. They all mostly have VGA inputs. The resolution is still up there 1920 x 1080 and the picture quality is off the chain. I would recommend this samsung tv to anyone.

I bought this set for my mother whose mobility is limited so she watches a lot of TV. She is very pleased with it. Since I see her almost every day, I have also observed the excellent picture quality myself. She needed a set for basic use and this one does the job quite well. Unless you have specialized needs, this is a good choice from the Samsung lineup.

We bought this TV in the store yesterday. For less than $650 including tax, this TV is great. Easy to set up. Fits great in our old entertainment unit with a 40" wide opening. The sound quality is poor. We're hooking it up to our surround sound tonight.

I bought this TV for my bedroom. One thing that I needed in a new TV is one that had an "alarm clock"(Samsung calls it "Timer") feature.... ie turns on automatically at 6 AM then back off in an hour...this TV did indeed have that feature...however, it only works with either Cable (Co-ax) or Antenna...no HDMI, RCA or component for this feature. So I have to run an RF modulator (non-HD) to this TV, so it at least has some programming on it when it turns itself on in the morning.... a nice feature about the "timer" is you can set the volume and which days of the week you want it to turn on automatically. Unfortunatly since it turns on via the RF modulator, I have to manually change it to HDMI to watch HD stuff...I'm hopeing Samsung will deploy a firmware release that will fix this "problem" Other than that, it is a good TV and I have no complaints.

I bought this TV at the end of December with the idea that it would be a bedroom or study room TV and it has more than exceeded expectations visually. Calibration is everything and once it was done properly, it looked great for broadcast TV, DVD's and a Wii. If you are not a calibration pro, as I am not, finding good starting points for settings can be found online by searching for calibration settings for this Samsung. Fine tune to taste. The PC input has worked acceptably for streaming video sources, too. The only downside has been the audio. The sound out of the built in TV speakers is ok, but I was really disappointed to find that the digital optical output does not send a 5.1 surround signal to my stereo receiver- this makes watching broadcast HD shows slightly less enjoyable. All things considered, though, its been a great purchase!
