We chose this TV after comparing specs of various competitors Picture and sound are great. However I expected more "intellligence" in a Smart TV. The Browser App of the Smart TV does not work with numerous websites, in particular websites that provide Live TV broadcast (work fine with Windows PC for example) just do not work. (A call to tech support verified this with no explanation or indication that the bug would be fixed). The Samsung Link app (All Share Play?) has no screen saver, a cumbersome way of creating or editing a playlist. The Keyboard is cumbersome. There's a feature which allows the user to move and remove the position of app widgets (icons) on the screen and that's a good thing. However this feature does not work with certain "fixed apps" which are there in a prominent un-moveable position. In summary, a great TV, and I own and favor Samsung products... but next time I am looking for a "SmartTV" I will compare features available from their competitors.

This is my first purchase ever of a new television in 13 years and I was pleasantly surprised and astounded at the ease of prepping it for watching regular TV, Direct TV set up and the overall quality of picture and sound. Gone are the days of lugging such a large appliance, This unit was only 20 lbs. at 40 inches of TV, Absolutely wonderful!

Great price, features, picture. Very easy set-up and nicely surprised. Should be able to find it around $439 on sale at BB, though I have seen the sale price go up approx. $40 since I bought it. Strongly recommend using HDMI cable to connect instead of coax...huge difference in picture quality! Get at least 8' if you intend to wall mount.

Smart TV was a pain to set up. Netflix did not find my account, nor did Prime. Netflix has since connected. Picture is awesome.

This is my first smart tv and I have to say that it was an excellent purchase. The price on this tv was great and because of the variety of apps in the Samsung market I was motivated to start exercising by downloading the curve app. Picture and sound quality are excellent, it was easy to set up and this tv is great for the entire family.

Pros: The picture quality is excellent. The WiFi was quick and easy to set up. Netflix streaming works great. Lots of other Apps. Cons: Using the internet browser with the remote is slow and awkward. Overall, I am very happy with this TV. The sound quality is what you would expect from a flat panel TV. It's not bad, just not great.

This Tv was purchased for my mother. Kudos to Best Buy to matching Amazon pricing so we were able to hook it up instantly. The picture quality is excellent. This was an upgrade from a 32 inch Vizio that she loved. She loves the SMART TV functions and the picture quality. Will recommend this TV and may purchase another one soon.

I bought this TV almost 3 years ago after shopping around for about a month. I was hesitant about spending a significant amount of money for a television as the last two I purchased stopped working just outside of the manufacturer's warranty. I am happy to say that I am so satisfied with the overall quality that I have purchased two additional (smaller) TVs since and they are both Samsung as are my Blu-ray player and sound-bar. I have also now bought a Samsung Galaxy S7. I love the way I can share media seamlessly across my devices. The picture quality is literally remarkable. I have had several friends and family members comment on the clarity and vivid color. The sound is more than adequate; however, being a bit of an audiophile, I did find it lacking depth. But I would be surprised to find any TV that i didn't feel this way about. I ended up adding a Samsung Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer (LOVE IT!). I think Samsung has a customer for life. I will be replacing my television soon with a 3D model. It will likely be a Samsung.

If you are looking for a smart TV with a big screen then this is it. Great picture clarity. The memory is not great and IE would close if more than 1 is opened. Browsing on IE is pain as we need to select each letter and the latest is not stored Youtube does not retain the last searched content. Overall a good product for the price. It depends on what you are actually using the product for. Good for gaming.

This is my second smart t.v. The first one is a lot easier to maneuver and use when connect to the internet. The way the remote is designed for using it's features is not so good. It also seems to have a weak signal to gain internet access. It constantly has to research for my internet provider. It is located in the dining room which is 2 rooms away from the wifi box. Overall, a bit pricey for the end result. I was much happier with my first smart t.v. This one takes forever to maneuver.

I used to have a Panasonic TV and Panasonic surround sound and of course they played well with each other. With the Samsung TV I need to press several different buttons to get sound on the TV including navigating through the input menus. I'm sure someone can figure it out but I haven't had the time. We enjoy the size of the TV with its' small frame and it's pretty lightweight for the screen size.

Very good TV. Can't go wrong with a Samsung. This is my 3rd Samsung (already have a 60" and a 24") and the picture quality is excellent. This was the best option for the price, features and benefits in the 40-42" range LED's that I could find.

We chose to use this TV in my daughter's bedroom. It's a perfect size that she can use it now and take it with her when she gets her own place for a main TV. She is an avid Netflix user and this TV is very easy to use and to connect to our wireless internet. Netflix looks great on it as does regular programming!

So far I have really loved the bigger size screen and the Smart features I been using especially the Netflix.

This is my first Smart TV and I love it. I use Amazon and have used Netflix and it is so easy to negotiate. The set up took some time but it really did it all itself. I just sat and waited. I put the TV & stand together myself without any help….no problem. It's lightweight and easy to carry and move.

Samsung have the market place for Smart HDTV, but I waited and waited until the price came down and was happy to go for a 2012 model at the end of 2013 with a few less bells and whistles as far as I can tell. Not a twit for tweets or a mug to be shot on face tomb, but I like to watch the telly every now and again, particularly when the footie is on or if there is a good documentary. Picture quality is really very good and the 40" size set is the goldilocks for us old 'uns. Wish it were slightly easier to figure out all the various bits with the Smart Hub, and punching in the right buttons from the handset remote can be a bit of a pain; but texting is not for us so I'll wait until the talk to the robot set becomes used to foreign accents and a pensioner's budget. Still have my fountain pen mind you!

My wife and I purchased the Samsung 40" smart television for our bedroom. It was an excellent purchase. Good quality, price & features. We also have another Samsung Smart Tv for the living room (larger model). We are very pleased with both products and are proud to say we are a Samsung family !!!!
