This is my review of the Samsung UN40JU7100FXZA. Originally I had purchased the Samsung 50JU6500 and exchanged it for this television. I decided to go with a 40 inch because this is being used a 4K PC monitor. I had a 50 inch but it was too big for my personal taste. As usual I will be listing the Pros and Cons. Pros: - Motion Rate 240 Rate (120hz) - HDMI 2.0 (4:4:4: chroma subsampling for 60hz PC use as long as your graphics card is capable) - Built in WiFi which is a norm but this has 802.11ac - Built in Bluetooth (Bluetooth Headphones Work and seems to be the norm now, I'm not sure if it is just for the higher end models) - HEVC decoder - Screen mirroring - PlayStation Now - Smart remote ( which can be used a universal remote) - Design (stylish it has a brushed aluminum/charcoal grey look) - One connect mini (TV ports are easily accessible now) Cons: - No 3D glasses are provided with this television ( I expected at least a a pair) - Speakers are kind of low - Expensive for a 40 inch - Active 3D (requires glasses that contain batteries which is an added cost, there are rechargeable versions but are expensive in comparison to passive 3D) Now here are my thoughts on this television set. I originally purchased a series six 50 inch Samsung TV it was great but was 60hz which wasn't acceptable. I exchanged it for this Television and I'm glad that I did. I love the smart remote it is a nice feeling remote that has a good weight and is contoured to fit your hand. The addition of the one connect mini is great it allows you to connect your HDMI and USB cables without having to get behind or move your TV once it is in place. But it can also be bad if you your TV wall mounted because it would require a bracket of some sort to hold it in place (added cost). I found that having a 40 inch TV is a better fit for me than my previous 50. The screen is easier to look at and isn't overwhelming viewing it up close. I hooked up some Logitech surround speakers and get much better sound quality. And the grey color of the TV frame and bezel is more appealing than the typical generic black like 90% of the televisions on the market. Motion blur is minimal with and gaming is good just turn on gaming mode and you'll be alright. This TV has auto motion plus turned on by default it will give you the soap opera effect you can turn it off for watching most things. I found it to be useful when watching sports. I also like the fact that Samsung Televisions have the TWC app which eliminates the need for a cable box as long as you don't need a DVR. There are a decent number of apps but they don't have nearly as much apps as they once offered. Overall this TV great and I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't need such a large television. Aside from some of the negatives it doesn't change the fact that it is a solid device. It isn't as good as an OLED TV in terms of picture quality (for those who have one or have seen one) but it is near perfect. Although I do wonder if the curved sets are better.... Hopefully this helps you and makes you a much more educated consumer.

I've actually bought two of these replacing FP SD TV from Sony and Samsung, both were 32" about 4 yrs old; but I found this skinny, narrow bezel fit int the same space both older TV's occupied. In kitchen height was critical, in workout room width was important. Samsung's up scaling of HD to UHD images is excellent and it handles fast motion exceptionally. It's black levels are very good, but not quite as good as top of the line Sony (900 series) or LG's OLED's (Different price category). I've used with DirectTv's UHD programming (still very limited); and UHD picture had a 3D quality - can't wait to get more UHD programming - but now I'm prepared when we do. Smart TV's continue to improve, I was a little suprised how much better the current Samsung Smarts are compared to 4 years ago and the Sony's offering. Streaming Amazon Video over Wi-Fi is so much smoother with today's sets than it was with a 4yr old set. Very Impressed

This is the best TV I've owned and is easy to customize to my own, very particular preferences. I don't like watching cinema movies that look like they are soap operas so I can easily switch off the "Auto Motion Plus" filter in sub-menu "Picture Options" in the "Picture" Menu. When I want to watch sports, I simply switch it back on for great action with minimal blur. The remote is small, sleek and well designed, though I haven't mastered the built-in pointer mouse button. I'm completely happy I made this choice. I went into Best Buy to buy a new HDTV but having this UHD 4K makes blu-ray discs and higher rez media really pop. I don't use the SmartHub for aps as I have a RokuStick attached, but I have tried it and it works fine. I'll be buying a couple pairs of 3D active glasses soon, so I'll add to this review.

I was looking to spoil myself a bit, and decided to go with a trusted brand that offered the best picture quality available today. I also decided that the novelty of getting a 3D TV was worthwhile as well. At the end of the day, this TV is a great value for exactly what I wanted. If you're not totally set on 3D, you should should consider a different 4K UHD without that feature as it will save you a few hundred dollars. If you want the highest picture quality, 3D-ready, Smart TV, that's just big enough for a decent sized bedroom without being overkill...this is exactly the right choice for you. Bonus points for the Bluetooth remote control with motion-control cursor; it is my favorite way to navigate any TV menu in my experience.

I bought an open box,at a great price, I did lots of research and found this Samsung 40 inch,4k,3D model got great reviews in print and on YouTube, I wanted a 4K for my bedroom and I wanted a 40 inch screen because I also wanted to use it as a computer monitor connected thru the HDMI, (as I write this revue I am less than 3 feet away from the screen), the wireless connection for my phone and tablet is quick and easy...I am a photographer with 4k video and still cameras and I can finally see my work as it was meant to be seen, in 4K....and oh yeah it is a GREAT TV with ALL the goodies after all, why would you pay almost a thousand bucks for a 40 inch, when 4k forty inch TV's are going for less than half that price at BEST BUY ..... A simple answer folks, because it is one of the best 40 inch 4k 3D TV's you can find.

This TV is all in one bundle with 4K,3D, Wifi and smart TV . I have previously used other brand smart TV just 2 years older than this . This Samsung Ju7100 is very much quick in processing anything. I love the speed at which it handles the external hard disk or switching between devices connected to it. The 3D is great to watch at your home. The remote is very compact and elegant. Its precise pointing device any one can use it with ease.Overall I would recommend this is excellent buy for anyone for the amount you spend. Disadvantage with this TV is you cant install any app that is available in market only featured apps that are available in it can be installed then you dont have the manual buttons to control the TV incase your remote fails without battery. The colors are good in this TV.

Picture quality is beyond amazing! Easy to use & access all the functions. Blu Ray picture quality is way beyond what one would have thought could be possible to expect on this TV ! The remote is Very simple & intuitive to use. This TV is definitely the Best I have ever watched & A keeper !

We are very please and overwhelm with the quality of the picture. The remote is very special and will need some special learning in getting use to it. Overall, it is an awesome TV. Easy to set-up. The 7100 Series TV provides the 3D option as well. The Black Friday sale had it reduced by $400.00. Fantastic! Worth getting it.

The picture is excellant and the 3d works great with the cheaper glasses (we did not buy the more expensive ones). The remote is terrible for us. Our son is visually impaired and the remote requires you to use it like a mouse which makes it difficult to use. Wish they still used the old Samsung remote. I have purchased other remotes but none work good enough on this TV. That is the reason I am taking 1 point away as the remote control is lacking.

Despite the fact that there aren't many 4K channels yet, I've found a few and some other ways to see 4K. I wanted a second 3D TV for my bedroom (already have one 3D) which would fit in my armoire, so I got the 40". Samsung has make yet another fantastic product and I couldn't be more pleased. The picture is simply stunning! Among a few other gadgets, I have 4 Samsung HD TVs and 3 PC monitors. There's no reason to buy anything else!

This TV delivers on picture quality! Fantastic graphics, especially when paired with sony playstation or high quality DVD's. I still need to upgrade my DirecTV service to HD - so i cannot review that aspect of the picture yet. sound pairing with stereo and bluetooth devices simple and easy. the emu and other functions are easily accessible. all in all this TV is a great deal and i would recommend to a friend. only gave it 4 stars as it does not appear to have as many function preinstalled as the sony version, but i am quibbling there.

I bought this as a gift for my mother. WiFi connection is very fast and Smart TV choices are many. Picture is super sharp. Remote feels good in the hand and is easy to use. This is one of the few sets that have all the features in a 40-inch size.

This tv is so great. I wish it was a little bit bigger but it was on sale and in my budget. I love the 240hz , it makes everything more life-like. Paired with an upscaling 3D blu-ray player 3D and Bly-ray movies look unbelievable. Even regular DVDs look great. Highly recommend if you can't go any bigger than this size or price.

This TV has the best picture quality that I had ever seen. It enhances regular HD and streaming 4k video from YouTube or Amazon is truly remarkable. The only negative I can say about this TV is that there is no HDMI port on the TV itself. It uses a digital cable connector that connects to a HDMI box (HDMI Mini) that allows up to 4 HDMI devices to plug into it. When mounting the TV on the wall this box is a little bulky to hide. Other than this I would recommend this TV.

Picture is clear and bright with minimal motion blurring. 3d mode works well with good left right eye seperation when battery is full in glasses. There is noticeable 3d image ghosting when the battery in the glasses is near empty. The only area in which the tv does not meet my expectations is with the buggy software. Netflix - intermittent functionality. Screen saver activates at random occasionally but almost never when a still image has been displayed for some time . Changes input on its own sometimes for no apparent reason. I am hoping with continued updates these issues will be resolved.

Outstanding picture, only negative I have encountered with the TV has been while surfing the net using the built in Samsung Browser. I like to stream video from youtube and on occasion, the browser will just shut it's self down and switch back to HDMI1. No big deal but it seems to me like it needs just a bit more memory to be able to not crash the browser.

Wanted a good 3d/4k tv for my bedroom. Bought 3d glasses separate. Have watched 3d blu-rays, played ps4 games, directv and Netflix in 4k. Picture is great and price is good for 3d/4k smart tv.

Very nice picture, and sound. The was a replacement for an older non 4K smart tv. Compared to that, this tv has richer colors and better sound. Also, love the support for DLNA and screen mirroring from my mobile devices. Don't really like the new remote control - The advanced buttons are now replaced with a on-screen pointer/cursor system that you direct with your remote. Sure, it is a neat feature, but it is actually more difficult to control the TV. I can see carpal tunnel syndrome for me in the near future.

I love this TV! I was shopping for a $500-700 TV but ended up spending a little more for this Samsung, but I think it was well worth it. I think I paid $999 or so a week before Superbowl so it was $100-200 off retail on sale. This is my first smart TV and I love it. The remote is easy to use when searching Netflix or the menus. The menus are easy to use and adjust. I even think the sound is good for the TV. The only down side is the USB and HDMI outputs are on a separate box that connects to the tv vs being directly on the back of the tv. For me this is not a deal breaker, I just had to hide it behind the TV stand. I plan on wall mounting it this year but he foot stand is nice. I chose the 40" inch for the bedroom TV. I tried the living room 55" in the bedroom for a while but it was too big so we were looking for a 40" or so TV for the bedroom and I think the size is great. The picture is amazing and I have no complaints. I have yet to use the 3d feature yet as I don't have any 3d dvd's. I would recommend this TV to others. It is at the top of it's price for this size of TV but it is nice! and I think worth it. It blows all the other TV's I have ever owned away! My next TV will most likely be another 4K Samsung in the 55-60" range for the living room.

Picture is magnificent, sharp and clear with remarkable color. Very easy to set up and a pleasure to use. Third Samsung in my family, will never buy another brand.
