The picture is amazing and no you do not need an overly expensive HDMI cable. The sound is surprising great even though I was told I would need a soundbar because the sound on all current tv was horrible. Not true. Absolutely not true. The soundbar is an optional accessory and unless you really want one, it is not needed. The volume was at "10" and was loud enough to fill the whole room with no problem.

In moving from Connecticut to Texas, I needed a new television. I was induced to this purchase by the price and the technology. This smaller than the average size currently (40 inch) is not only High Definition, but is a Smart TV which has all but made my Roku useless.

The picture is fantastic! I love being able to access Netflix, Amazon etc...but must admit there is certainly a learning curve! So far so good!

Samsung has been making quality TVs at fair prices for more than three decades. The 4K UHD looks great, and even the HD up-conversion is impressive. Setting up the TV was easy.

The picture quality is sharp and clear. The smart TV aspect is nice but YouTube and Netflix don't seem to want to load. A software update just occurred the other day, but I have not tried since then. Entering info for YouTube with the remote takes awhile, but suggestions do speed up the search a bit

I love Samsung televisions, I only buy that brand because I have never been disappointed with any of their televisions. They have the best color and clarity. Even my neighbors say that they like my television.

these Samsung 4K's are the best. they are light so can be moved easily for whatever reason, very affordable, and a GREAT PICTURE. it's hard to describe, not 3D but as life like as any 3D movie I've seen. next purchase is the samsung 65" for the big room, can't wait!

The TV is Excellent. The picture quality is truly amazing. It is easy to use and works great with my devices and connects easily to my home network.

We were looking for a 40-inch TV with a clear picture, especially for sports, and we found it here. Very pleased with the picture and ease of setup.

Great pic and amazingly clear. Setup simple. Black levels exceptional. I replaced 42 inch plasma in the bedroom with this. Couldn't even see the size difference and quality of picture was spot on.

Upgraded from a 1080p for improved picture quality. Absolutely love the picture. Sound is good for a bedroom. Didn't need a soundbar as I did with the 55" purchased for the family room. One con is the setup of the Smart Hub. It would not load wirelessly. A service rep from Geek Squad had to come out and connect it directly to the router before it would load. And they had to contact Samsung service to determine the problem. Turns out the problem could be fixed with a special keyboard only given to an authorized Samsung repair tech, so I wold not have been able to resolve this myself. Apparently, this is a problem that has surfaced with some of the tvs sold. I did not have this problem with another Samsung 4k I purchased.

We bought this as a gift to ourselves and we are really enjoying it. The picture is so clear and stepping up was so easy. Love the features and haven't even had time to try all of them

This TV has great picture quality. I am so happy with it. However, I do have issues with the apps sometimes. For example, in Netflix I will open a show to watch and it will say I've opened a different one and start playing the other show. Or Skype sometimes won't let me log in and even when I close and reopen it, I have the same issue. I actually have to unplug the TV for the Skype app to reset and log me in. It can be very frustrating to say the least.

This tv is so sharp the images look like they have popped out of my tv. The 2160pixels is worth the extra money, and one of the easiest tvs i have set up to all my other equipment.

Awesome picture. Solid tv like most samsung products. Smart tv needs a lot of work though. Great gaming tv very low input lag.

This TV is exactly what I wanted for our bedroom. It fits exactly in our TV cabinet and has a great picture and was easy to setup.

Wehn I purchased this product, my intent was to buy another Sony. At ther looking at a number if possibilities, I kept going back the Samsung. The picture quality is beautiful and the detail is excellent I am a 40 year practicing photographer. The things I look for in a TV is black to white grey scale and flesh tones, both black and white. Many TV's was out the flesh tones and make people look pasty. This samsung looks so real, you might want to talk to the people on the screen.

Our sales rep directed us to the 4k TV and we are very happy with his suggestion. The picture quality is fantastic. We feel like we are part of the movie rather than an observer. The really interesting thing is we watched a movie from 1940 and the quality of the picture was enhanced, just like the sale rep told us, and we could not believe it.

the picture is vivid and my wife says it is so good that you can see the actors make-up I think the sound system could be better but it is as good as other TV's The smart features allow direct transfer to Netflix etc which is very nice

The Samsung 40" 2160p Smart 4K UHD TV offers a crystal clear picture and pretty good sound. It was very easy to set up and the prompts were easy to understand.
