Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did a lot of research in what to buy after having bought my last HDTV back in 2008 which was a 32 inch Sony Bravia 720p HDTV for about $550. Great TV, and had no problems with it over the years, but I figured I should futureproof myself and finally get 1080p, but then decided to get 4K just in case. The apps are pretty cool, but I already have a Chromecast and Nexus Player, but I'm starting to find myself using the built in Amazon Instant Video because it can show movies in 4K (it will on Netflix too, but you have to pay extra for it..) and the Chromecast and Nexus Player only output to 1080p, so that's nice. The picture is great. The bezel is so much smaller than my Bravia, that even though 40 inches was a big step up from 32, the size isn't that much bigger. Looks great for a bedroom. Works great on PS4 with game mode on. Everything looks crisp, and the few miliseconds of delay disappear once you switch to game mode, and everything plays great. Overall, great TV. Bought it on recommendation from a friend, and we're both loving it.

Awesome, especially for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Admittedly I am using this more as a computer monitor, but it is incredible for the money. I was stunned the first time I saw Netflix in 4k and some of the 4k youtube videos. When you're just a few feet away as I am, games look better even when you're playing in 1080p. I have not watched a lot of cable on this so I can't really comment. I'm very happy. My next purchase for my living room will no doubt be a much larger 4k set.

Great Tv With A Flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this tv it shows up well with my PS4 only down fall is it doesn't show up well on basic tv with a cable connect maybe with a HMDI it may show better. And Youtube app and a few others don't work. Good thing, I have my PS4 that have the same apps. And my mom has the older model of this tv and you can put a camera on it this model don't have that.

Good, but not without major flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, the set has fantastic color separation. Forget the fact that it is 4K, the way the set gives definition to color is absolutely amazing. Non-4K content looks worlds better on this screen than it ever did on the one it replaced (Same size). It is very easy and fast to setup, though on occasion, it does randomly disconnect from my home WiFi. I've found no rhyme or reason to this, it just happens. Another unbelievable issue this set has, is that it can be incredibly laggy to do almost anything. Turn the set on, hit the Source button to switch inputs; nothing happens. Nothing. No click, no dimming of the screen; no sign that the button input I just made did anything, for upwards of two minutes. That is completely unacceptable, and granted, it doesn't happen every time, it happens enough that I made it a point to call it out as a major issue that DOES happen, and happens often. Seems to me, this TV is supposed to be smart and modern and sophisticated and wonderful, and I get that. It does do a lot of fancy and fun things, but in the scheme of things, if you have any sort of console or set-top hooked up to this TV (PS3 or PS4, Xbox 360, or Xbox One, or any other set-top device like a Roku or Firestick), all of the Smart features are completely redundant and unnecessary. The fact that even the input selection seems to go through the smart hub, thereby dramatically slowing it down on occasion, is absolutely ridiculous. In short, I like this TV. It looks great, it sounds great, it's easy to use, it just doesn't "WORK" some times.

Impressed with new technology
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed to replace our 6-year-old 40" Samsung tv after the picture tube failed. We chose this model for the built-in wi-fi and after seeing the new enhanced HD picture in the showroom. Although set up was simple, the only drawback for us was that a written manual would have been easier to figure out all the features and settings.

Love the picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Glad I picked up the 4k instead of reg 1080p. can definitely see the difference. Love Samsung and the responsiveness of the remote. Only wish the remote was a bit more upgraded because it's pretty basic and doesn't offer shortcuts to app on the remote like the vizio i owned previously.

Great 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from 5 year old Samsung TV to get better unit for streaming. This one was on sale with $100 off. When I went in to pick it up the following day, there was an additional $50 off, and Best Buy automatically credited my purchase with the additional savings. Thanks, Best Buy! Setup was simple, it works great with new Harmony 650 remote. Connected easily to Bose sound system, and to WiFi. No problem connecting to wireless keyboard and mouse for web browsing from the couch. Picture is amazing on broadcast TV and on 4K Streaming shows on Netflix. I like the sleeker look, when compared to 5 year old Samsung that it replaced. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great bang for the buck!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv after taking back a Toshiba 1080 40in. Wow am I glad! Only 2 1/2 days, but so far I'm in love with it. Beautiful 4K Picture. I download and watch movies through the USB connect and that is an extra plus. Sound is not great but not worst than the other so I cant complain. TV connect to wi-fi (after 2nd try). I got this for under $500, but woulda paid $600. Apps are limited, bu ok, I don't use them a lot anyway. This TV does alot, and I'm still learning.

Good picture but horrible interface
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in a very small house and the 40" model fits very nicely on the corner TV stand. The 26" pedistal stand makes it ver easy to install a soundbar, which is required due to the internal speakers creating excessive vibrations during periods of low base. The biggest drawback of this TV is the nonfunctional user interface that should have never left the factory. Samsung QA is sleeping behind the wheel. The interface is so slow a child's VTech out performs it. The factory installed YouTube app refuses to connect and simply errors out that the channels cannot be loaded. It is NOT the customer's responsibility to upload new firmware that should be fully functional when the device left the factory. You get an F for quality control, performance and customer service. Every preloaded app should fully function when the TV is taken out of the box. There is no acceptable excuse for this.

Great TV, But Anynet +(HDMI-CEC) Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the TV, but is not compatible with newer Yamaha AV receivers. Anynet+ conflicts with HDMI Control on the receiver and will not maintain audio setup with surround sound. Great TV except for this issue, which Samsung has indicated they do not have a fix.

UHD for champagne taste on Lager Beer Pocketbook
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After seeing the wonders of UHD in several Best Buy stores, I had the proverbial "bee in my bonnet" to get in on the latest advancement in TV picture clarity and technology. For the price a great deal. I inherited a custom built entertainment center/cabinet credenza from one of my late parent's close also deceased friends. The largest flat screen was a 40". And thank God Samsung and others make UHD sets for those of us who don't need a TV the size of a Boeing 747. I use broadcast #free over the air TV# with an Antenna's Direct model purchased from Best Buy. I'm within five miles of TV Hill #Baltimore City# so the signals are nice and strong. One of the easiest setups I've ever had on an electronic device. Samsung even provides a sort of soothing jazz background music as the set up process commences. Even the harder to get PBS stations including the ones in Spanish come in sharp and clear. And, did I mention the excellent picture quality is not even full 4K. The set's technology enhances the standard 1080 P picture. So, when 4K finally comes to us common folk who use antenna TV the picture is going to be amazing. Though minor, I'm impressed with Samsung for making the connections on the back easy. For example I do not need the manual dexterity of a "Mohel" to attach the antenna lead and other hookups. So far so excellent.

Great features but color washed-out issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a graphic designer, so color is my life. Intermitantly, the color washes-out, especially from wider angles. it seems to depend on the scene's contents, all of a sudden the picture is all washed-out , then the scene changes & it goes back to normal. I've tried all four presets in the picture configuration section of Tools button and it's an issue in all. ARG!

Great TV for those with bad eyesight
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disclaimer - I'm about to talk about this TV a LOT more technically than most people are probably going to be able to digest. Pros - It has HDMI 2.0 which means it'll do 4K @ 60Hz and 4:4:4 Chroma, which was a must-have for me when shopping for a display. I'm using mine as a computer monitor in addition to as a TV so I wanted to color accuracy of Chroma and the refresh rate for gaming. Aside from that, it's as good as any other Samsung smart TV. Decent user interface, good connectivity, nice aesthetic. Cons - Well, I've been through 3 of these displays, and ALL of them have issues. Two had multiple dead pixels and specs of dust stuck under the screen, and one had a partially dead backlight that caused very bad color shifting across the display. If you're only going to use this as a TV and not a monitor, you'll never notice these kinds of things, but they've driven me insane. Unless Samsung can increase their quality control on these panels, I'd advise against buying them.
