Not worth the money

The GUI forces Advertisements over functionality and I just don't care for that sort of business practice. If I want your product I will break your door down to get it if need be, I don't need YOU to spam me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The remote is weak at best and is almost useless. TVs these days just don't seem to care about you making any adjustments so the GUI is anything but user friendly. It's almost as if the TV is thinking for me, adjusting brightness as it seems fit despite how I set it. The TV that replaced this Samsung is focused more on function over Commercialization. When I set a particular brightness it just stays unlike this Smart Tizen TV that seemed to have it's own mind. The reviews for this TV are great but I failed to see what all the hype was about. I don't care for a TV that changes Brightness because it thinks it should, I set the levels I do because that is what I am comfortable with and I don't need to be blinded because of a scene change.

Thank you for purchasing the TU8000 TV and for your review. I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the brightness levels of your picture. If you are finding your image to be just a little too dark or bright you can try the different Picture Modes, or manually adjust the Brightness settings to your liking.
There are several preset picture modes and many custom settings that can optimize image quality for your viewing scenario.
Go to HOME > SETTINGS > PICTURE > PICTURE MODE and choose:
1) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
2) Standard: This is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
3) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
4) Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
5) Filmmaker: Watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is.
Or manually adjust the Brightness and other settings to your liking. Go to: Settings> Picture> Expert Settings
You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.
Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV, according to the ambient light level, to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Ambient Light Detection

Good TV Poor Audio

I’d like to give it 4-5 stars but this model has limited to difficulty linking to sound bars. It won’t work with older model Samsung or later model Visio, Philips, (these I own). The manual suggests using optical connection but that doesn’t work. I have to use two separate remotes for power and volume.

The remote app works like EHH. What good is it if you can't turn you tv on with your cell phone app? A little surprise it works good to turn the TV off. This Unix platform leaves a non computer Guru screaming and swearing. Growing new hair after pulling it out is impossible The Roku platform was 10 times better.
