Not as good as I hoped......

My old tv was a 3d tv that was only 1 inch thick without the stand. The picture is not half as good as my old tv. The new tv picture looks milky from the sides as if it had a white film on it. UN40C7000 was the old model . Samsung needs to look at that model and make improvements from there.

Love your open box items!

In the past we have also purchased open box TV’s and always had good luck with them. (We just make sure that we purchase the extended warranty just Incase) I’m sure we will purchase one again.

Also, I believed it had voice demand. It does not, but should have had at that price. I think I would have been as happy with the Samsung 43” smart tv at $279!

The RU8 also offers several Sound Modes and advanced settings to meet your personal preferences. You can find instructions for configuring these modes and settings in the e-manual:

Please refer to page 101: "Configuring a Sound Mode and Expert Settings"
1) Select from Standard, Optimized, and Amplify Modes
2) Further configure Balance, Equalizer, Audio Delay, Auto Volume, Sound Feedback, and adjust for HDMI Input Audio Format and Digital Output Audio Format.
It also comes with voice control options.

NOT WORTH THE PURCHASE for 4K streaming.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new TV only for 4k movie/TV show streaming (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, etc.). My Samsung MU7000 ($550) was not repairable so Geek Squad agreed to return the money in a gift card. For an additional $150, I decided to buy the Samsung Q60R (on sale $699) thinking QLED was an upgrade but I was wrong with the overall performance. My internet download speed is at 142.6 Mbps. My MU7000 4K movie performance was perfect when paired with the Xbox One S (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now) and performed well when using Samsung's TV apps. The Q60R TV apps made the 4k video stream quality look grayed out. So I decided to have an Apple 4k TV connected thinking the quality will perform better but got the same result. For the original price of $799, this Q60R TV does not perform as good as the MU7000 (2017). LED bleeding was noticeable on the top left & right corners on the Q60R on day one. I worked on the advanced Picture settings on the Q60R but the performance still does not come close to my previous Samsung. The night/dark scenes on any movie look horrible on the Q60R. The MU7000 was a lot smoother on fast moving objects compared to the Q60R. I will return this Q60R. I believe you can get the full potential of this TV if you are using 4K Blu-Ray disc player but who still buys movie disc? Even Samsung have announced they will NO longer make 4K Blu-Ray disc players. I gave a rating of 1-star since this TV under performs compared to a two year old 7-series model.

Our Q60 R series are powered by Quantum Processor 4K, Quantum HDR 4X, and deliver over a billion shades of color with sharp details, and fine-tuned black level.
It is possible that your particular set was either defective or required adjustments in settings. Nonetheless, I do sincerely apologize for the let-down.
If you have not already returned your unit, please give us the opportunity to investigate the issue and provide step-by-step troubleshooting. If this TV is performing worse than a 2-year-old UHD TV, then something is definitely not right.

I looked at many different sets and I’m sure anyone would be pleased with this model. It’s worth the little extra to have all the features like Bluetooth in your set. Nice job Samsung!

Clear picture

The sound is inferior and inconsistent. This is a downgrade from the TV we had for 12 years.

It allows you to easily connect to YouTube, Amazon prime, Netflix and others. Not to mention the ambiance mode where your tv is a picture! Sound is not as great as expected but a good tv overall.

Good TV, lousy remote!! Will return!

Best Buy was is closed,and techs not working now. Have called 3 times for help, no one came out, but Che called back and helped a little. Had to get new receiver and new remote from Spectrum to settle problem with difficult remote bought at Best Buy.

Everything is good except Bixby initially. The TV would randomly turn on when talking in the room. However, we were able to turn on the voice activation and working well. Would recommend the TV.
