This Samsung Q60 tv is very nice for a bedroom!

This tv replaced a 4K LG tv that had color problems. We had purchased a five year protection program from Best Buy and this proved to be a very good program as we received a credit for everything we had paid for the LG tv towards the new Samsung Q60 tv. We are very pleased with everything Best Buy did to correct this situation.

Nice picture but stupid audio output design

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, if you're not fussy about audio output options, or your audio needs are more sophisticated and tailored to the Samsung design (e.g., HDMI/ARC) then this is a great TV. I give it three stars because for my straightforward situation, the Samsung engineering design for audio output, which lacks even an option for variable audio output (i.e., ability to control volume output via the digital audio output port with the TV remote) - is just plain stupid. I have Sonos speaker system and ran my previous TV's audio output into the Sonos speaker's "line in" port. Worked great. Better sound than the TV's built-in speakers and the TV's volume control adjusted the decibel level of the sound emanating from the external Sonos speaker. With this Samsung television, the minute you connect any external audio device to its digital audio output port (it has NO analog audio output whatsoever - another stupid design), the TV's volume control is deactivated. Now I understand that if you run the audio out into a stereo receiver, you probably want fixed audio output, but for my straightforward external speaker setup, I want and expect an intuitive option for variable audio output so I don't need a separate volume control device for the external speaker. Why Samsung designs their TVs in this counterintuitive way is baffling. As I said before, the picture is great and the TV is impressive overall, but this one stupid design flaw caused me to return this model, and is enough to keep me from ever buying another Samsung TV.

We do support Sonos soundbar via optical and can also control it with the TV remote.
Follow these steps.
1. Power the Sonos on and make sure the LED color is white (not in standby)
2. Connect the optical cable to Sonos first
3. Make sure the Sonos IR sensor is in the line of sight with the TV IP blaster (located under the Samsung Logo)
4. Power the TV on
5. Connect the optical cable to the TV
6. The TV will detect Sonos and will be able to control its volume with the TV remote control

Great sound except for the bass. The bass tends to thump like the speaker is being over extended. That is the only Con I had, all the rest is Pros. I accidentally broke my screen. But I’m purchasing another of these fantastic TV’s.

This seems funny, but it illustrates the picture quality of the set. The processor is extremely fast and streaming is flawless.
