This TV has a lot to offer!! TV was great once out the box. Colors pop out great! I tried the 3D out and it was also great. I definitely would buy this tv again. I probably get the 65inch version for the living room!

The picture quality is incredible. 3D is very impressive. The smart remote is hands down the best remote that has ever came with a tv set.

Great TV! Great color, depth, and clarity. The screen is nice and thin. Not a lot of heat generated.

I was ready to go 4K. I was looking at the 55" Samsung and the 50" Sony, each about $700 dollars. I had a $900 credit because my Samsung was busted after 4 years of use and still under a 5 year warranty. So my plan was to ditch 3D and go 4K then get a sounder with the remaining money. However, was to be discontinued soon and while 1.3K may seem expensive...It was a steal from the original 1.8K price! Plus it was still 3D and higher end Tvs like this DO have better 3D. Ultimately though it was that this TV had a 240 refresh rate instead of 60 on the other. It was too good a deal to pass on...
So while that was a major decision, and the TV is only 49", I can tell you I made the right one. The TV is still 9" bigger than my last, and NO QUESTION better picture. I did end up being the only 4K Blu-Ray player out there (as of writing this review - and I know Sony is releasing one too but I could wait to see true 4K...NOT STREAMING 4K like the other "4K" players provide). Worth every penny. And the upscaling the TV provides is superb. 4K is 4 times the pixels and 4 times the quality of 1080p. Well, the upscaling effect doesn't quite do that but...I'd say DOUBLE the quality of 1080p from and 1080p source is good enough for me. Admittedly my cable source only provides 720p or 1080i, but with I motion rate of 240 it is vey hard (though not impossible) to see the any difference between interlaced and progressive and it's worth seeing the SLIGHTEST choppiness in super-fast scenes to get twice the pixels as opposed to 1.5 times from 720p.
My only complaint is indeed the 3D. It's better than my old one but not by much. It's worth it for 3D movies but I really only got this for the 4K and High Refresh Rate. The sound is worse too but I did end up sucking it up an getting a sounder (though this time a Kilpsch, not a Samsung, which has been problematic connectic wise but that's a review for that, not the TV...Although the issue is with the connection so I guess it could be and optical jack issue with the TV so watch out for that if you're planing on a soundbar not by a major company like sony or samsung).
Anyway though, the positives far outweigh the few negatives. Too bad this particular model will bee outdated in a few months so...This review may be useless by the time you read it...But on the off chance you can find one of them it's worth the purchase!

Easy to set up. WiFi a great plus. No wire clutter! Deep 2 dimensional picture, almost 3D depth. Wimbledon was never before seen like on this Samsung. Can't wait for 3D Football. And don't forget to purchase 4K HDMI cables (not included).

Fantastic out-of-the-box experience. Easy setup, connected to my network & AV unit instantly. Best picture I have ever seen. Remote is easy to use. Streaming all apps, Cable TV, Antenna TV all yield crisp video without stutter. Wireless connection to my HTS computer. 100% statissfied.

Great, sharp picture, nice and bright with dark blacks. Fits well in a 600 sq ft room. The unit is easy to move around since it's not too heavy. We have it on a rotating pedestal stand which lets us change the angle if we sit elsewhere in the room. The only thing that was disappointing was the quality of the sound - it's loud enough, but the speakers accentuate certain frequencies which are not so pleasant to listen to.

We purchased this TV for our living room in a condo. The screen size was important, as was having a Smart TV. The clarity of the TV is amazing. It handles action very well. We recently had it calibrated (after 100+ hours of viewing) and the calibrated colors look very life-like. We are very pleased with our purchase.

This TV is a replacement for a Samsung TV we purchased from Best Buy in 2012. We had no problems with that TV until something caused the screen to go black. Since we had the extended warranty on the original Samsung and Best Buy determined it could not be repaired, they replaced it with a new Samsung. We paid the difference in price to get this upgraded 4K Ultra HD LED model. The picture quality is great...crisp and brilliant. We use a Denon 5.1 speaker system with it so I can not tell you anything about the sound just from the TV speakers. (it's great the Denon speakers). I have only good things to say about the TV, the Garland Best Buy/Geek Squad and extended warranties. I recommend all three!

Fantastic picture, Audio is better than most other TV's.
The smart features still need to mature, and can be sluggish at times.
My main complaint with the TV (3rd times a charm, i hope). Had/have some audio issues. For some reason after the set updates it's firm ware (you cant opt out) you must turn on your other device first or else you get no sound until you turn the tv off and then back on. Also, whatever you do, don't connect an external audio device (eg: sound bar) or you will lose most of the functions of the smart remote, and doing a factory reset doesn't seem to help. It's amazing that a company like Samsung wouldn't make sure there devices (sound bar, TV) would play well together.
When i called support, they said that if i connect these two devices that what i was experiencing is to be expected. I was very disappointed to hear that.
As i said in the beginning, the picture is fantastic, i just wish the rest of the set was ready for prime time. Especially when paying close to $1500.00 for the set.
Samsung's tier 1 support was responsive and polite, tier 2, well they dropped the ball big time. They did not call when they were supposed to, and their local contract support never showed up to check out the TV. When i called them, they said that Samsung should know better than to schedule a service call without contacting them 1st. If they have relations issues i don't need to hear about it. That's between them. I needed my TV looked at, and on the scheduled time and date.
Best buy personnel did there best to help me out, but ended up having to order me a replacement TV (twice).
I am going to keep a close eye on the current TV, and hope i have no additional issues. If i do, maybe i will try Sony.
Happy shopping.

Picture is so clear you can see the pores on the human face during close shots. Up conversion on older programs and movies is very impressive. Easy to setup. Mini Samsung switch box is where the company will make upgrades so yearly TV purchases to stay up to date will not be required as 4K evolves!

Still learning more features with this TV. But overall, I am happy with it. Just last night I discovered the voice recognition feature! I am very new to the smart tv medium; but it was an easy transition for me with this Samsung TV. I enjoy the web searching capabilities. I like that I can get the app to use my smart phone as a remote, play my music and even show my pictures and videos from my phone. So far I'm really quite satisfied with it. The picture quality is excellent, sharp, crisp. Colors are really vibrant and the blacks are truly black. My son discovered Sports mode feature, so he's enjoying that experience.

Upgraded from a 42" plasma to a 48" Samsung 8500. Fretted for a long time about it, as I love my plasma. But the Samsung is amazing. Excellent picture, and great smart features. Definitely the correct decision.

This Tv is amazing for the price. To answer some of the questions people ask.
This tv does convert any programing from 2d to 3d, and in 4k. I was mainly interested in this feature as I was hoping to play in 3d and 4k.
The 3d is not so great, but I haven't adjusted it yet, I can probably make it look a little better, and it mostly depends on whether the content is meant to be played on 3d.
The resolution and colors are outstanding, and I have nothing to complain in this are, old programing in 480p looks vibrant due to the color calibrations, and is crystal clear, it is hard to spot pixels even on 480 upscaled to 4k.
The 1080 does get upscaled and it looks stunning.
The input lag is barely noticeable, I can play GTA V with absolutely no lag, but when I begin adding more features the input lag does increase.(somewhere between 50-70
I would recommend this tv.

This Samsung TV gets an excellent picture. We definitely notice a difference from our old 1080p TV. It was also very easy to set up. Perhaps this was because our old TV was also a Samsung.

If you are looking for a great quality tv that is close to 240hz refresh rate this is the one. I used to have a 240hz LG tv that was accidentally cracked so I had to buy a newer one. I love the resolution and picture on that TV so I figured it would be hard to replace it since it delivered true 240hz rate. I had 2 other 4K LED TV 240hz and they weren't even close to the one I had that was broken. Until I came across this TV and it was the closest to it maybe even better. I'm usually picky about brands because they all have fake refresh rates, but this is so far the best 4K LED quality you can get as of now. If you want something close to OLED TV's but don't want to pay too much then this is your TV. Overall my kids shows are crystal clear, and so are the movies we watch in 4K and BluRay. Very clear and crisp picture.

I purchased this tv for our bedroom to replace a 27 in set. First off, the picture is great! The colors are very realistic and the clarity is zoo good, it almost resembles 3D.
I researched this set online and knew I wanted Samsung's best tv. My wife didn't want a curved tv for the bedroom, so we agreed on the 8000 series. I'm glad we spent the extra money as this set has been worth it!
