for a first smart tv for my sister, she's happy with it. the picture is clear and its easy to navigate. she had it connected and ready to go in less than 20 minutes. she's happy she can now watch her Netflix and prime videos on a big screen compared to her laptop

We upgraded from a 13 year old Samsung to this new RU8000. The good is that the picture is amazing! The colors, clarity, and overall quality if wonderful! So you understand, I am not comparing the new one to our old TV. I am comparing the new TV to what I see out there. The bad...sound and lip sync issues. The sound is crystal clear, but has virtually no bass to it. It is one thing to have good sound and hook up a separate system to enhance what you have, but the speakers in the RU8000 are inferior to our old Samsung. Lip sync issues!! Not just Samsung, but there are threads out there about this issue with other manufacturers also. At its worse, it is like watching a foreign movie dubbed in english. The video and audio don't line up. This seems to be more of an individual station thing where some channels are always good, but others are not. Some people have changed audio settings and gotten it to work. Others.....eh. I have until January 15th to return the set and try another. In the meantime, I will contact Spectrum to get a new cable box, and then call Samsung, if necessary.

This is my first 4K tv and I was amazed at how much better the picture quality actually is. It was easy to set up, except for trying to connect it to my surround sound which is a Vizio so the two did not want to play together. Made a big difference with gaming too!

I picked up this tv for our bedroom. It was very easy to assemble with our Samsung Galaxy Phone. It helped us get the tv working within minutes. I still have to pick up a sound system but the tv sounds great out of the box. Picture is vibrant and crisp!

After tons of research i found a perfect fit for my builtin armoire with had a width of 44'". I was a little skeptical about the remote due to no alpha numeric buttons, but i have to say the integration Samsung has done with netflix, amazom, hulu is seamless. Also, the HDMI inputs of the tv actually sense the devise thats connected, in my case a Spectrum STB - the learning remote controls the STB flawlessly and also creates a Spectrum icon just like many other apps in the menu.
I originally purchased a LG 49", but replaced it specifically because Samsung is the only TV that you can download the Spectrum TV app in on the TV itself. Again, with the HDMI smart inputs, i actually didn't need to download.. having only one remote to control all applications is great.
Picture, sound and remote all A+++

Beautiful pictures and rather easy to set up. The interface is also intuitive. The volume on the remote confused me at first as it is more of a rocker switch (you don't press it in) but is great once you know that,

Initially bout a 55” TCL and after being pretty bothered by the poor refresh rate, returned it and ended up going with the slightly smaller 49” Samsung. I ended up making a fantastic decision. The refresh rate and clarity are fantastic. Colors are very rich. The contrast leaves a little bit to be desired but it’s not a huge detriment. The TV does a very good job of identifying what your connected devices are and Auto-configuring the remote to operate them. The interface and smart features are very snappy and work very smoothly.
My main complaint is there are apparently a couple features that are on other sizes in this product line but are absent from The 49”(yet they still show in the menu system).
The only other con is the TV auto turns on connected devices in order for the universal remote to function.
All in all it is a very good TV!

Got lucky and found this TV as an open box item for a fantastic price. Haven't really had the chance to use it much but it seems solid. Better TVs out there, of course, with the OLEDs and such. But I really can't complain for the money spent. Wish it had controls on the actual TV though. Seems to all be through the remote. We'll see how it holds up for the work I'm using it for, which is to review videos and films I create, as well as casual viewing. I knew what I was getting before I bought it. Meets my standards for the budget I had. Not gonna get into the tech aspects because I can't get into that yet with the little use it's had. Good buy. Do your research. And look for deals! My value rating reflects the awesome deal I got. But it's a good value even at full price....although I'd give it four stars if bought at full price because there are other TVs out there for cheaper that offer the same or more options and are the same or close in quality. Samsung is usually dependable though. So, win win at the price I got it.

Have owned nothing but Samsung 8 series TVs and when my cats decided to try jumping on top of my tv and leaving scratches down the entire screen I decided to get a brand new one. I honestly didn’t think the 2019 model would have any noticeable difference over the 2017 but it’s night and day and was pleasantly pleased. Shipping was fast and I would recommend this tv to anyone in the market for one where picture quality and color is key.

I had the 50 inch 6 series and it had a random flash of lines that would come through the middle of the screen. After multiple times of talking to Samsung's Customer service they finally honored the warranty and gave me in store credit to Best Buy, where I bought the TV. Once Best Buy received the confirmation the exchange was seamless! I decided to pay a little more money to upgrade from the 6 series to the 49" 8 series. The TV is absolutely amazing! ESPN app didn't work on my 6 series and was told by Samsung "it is on ESPN'S end not Samsung's", the app worked from day one on the 8 series. I would definitely recommend the 8 series. Plus I got it on a killer sale that was going on!

So January of 2019 I got a Samsung 4K tv (43 inch, series 6), but unfortunately I am a flood victim and during moving stuff out, that tv got broken. I wanted another Samsung but decided to step it up and go with a series 8 and one that’s a little bigger. This one is even better and the definition and clarity are amazing. One especially good thing for me which was present in my previous 4K tv was the lack of motion blur. With the 240Hz refresh rate, you won’t see that. I can’t think of any negatives. It’s the perfect size for really any room and assembly is easy and it has enough HDMI ports for just about any additional accessories. Highly recommended

I dreaded having to set up a new tv and dvd player but this tv made it simple. Almost everything was self prompted. My son did some adjusting to the type of picture we wanted and after buying a better HDMI cable ($12.00) we have a great picture.

I bought this 49in Samsung TV's because a lightning strike fried my 50 incher.
It has a great looking picture....the colors are amazing. Only downside is that I have it mounted over my Fireplace. With my other Samsung, I could plug in USB or other connection to play my movies from the camera...because the plugin was on the edge of the TV. With this one it is located inside the back and will be hard to get my hand back there to plug it in. I have not tried it yet. but it looks pretty tight. Didn't think about this when i was looking at TV's. Prices was very good too!

I got this back in November (2019), and I waited awhile to give this review. It was a good purchase and a great price too! Picture quality is awesome. Love how it adjusts with the light. Awesome that you can use the internet...so I got keyboard and mouse to maneuver that better. Love that you can connect other things to it (playstation, hulu, prime...) But if you have a little bit of Hearing problems, volume has to go a bit louder but suitable.
