I purchased this 5.1 surround sound system and it rocks. Has great sound quality and looks great and very easy to set up. If you want a quality surround sound system look no further.

Had all the parts and manual even though it was an open box item.

Easy to conect, great sound, good imagen, several functions........I would recommend it.

I like the quality sounds of my sorounds sounds .. also the quality of flat screen HDTV ..

Wasn't sure about wireless speakers but they where awesome not delay in sound

I setup my system and it worked great for a week. The system output amazing sound and bass. After a week the system crashed and presented a FAN NG error. I thought the fan was dirty so I looked at the air intake to ensure there was no visible dust. System no longer works. Stay away from this system and get something that works.

I had been going back and forth on whether or not to buy a home theater system. When I moved to my new apartment I noticed the vaulted ceilings created a huge echo rendering my Samsung tv with an overly flat and tinny sound. I purchased the sound system and it quickly filled my living room with lush sound and nice bass. I am not an audiophile, but I am very satisfied with the products sound. Set up was relatively quick and painless. The box can be misleading in regards to the wireless speakers, the receiver is wireless, but the speakers are all wired, but the color coding makes it very easy. The built Blu-Ray is nice but I haven't used it. The media center program built in is fairly clunky and wasn't going to switch us away from our Apple TV. The FM tuner is great, but I was delighted that the aux worked with my turntable.

Very excited to buy a samsung Ht-j5500 home theater system in excellent condition. But when I opened the box what I found was a smashed and bashed HT-Z320. Come on best buy get your act together.

Purchased this a month ago, and the sound quality is very good. The "wireless" rear speakers are NOT wireless, The piece they connect too is. Still better than running wires across the room i suppose. Its behind my couch, and i have a speaker on each side. The interface is good. I listen to pandora alot, Youtube is kind of hard to use though. Tuner function seems to be alright depending on weather. Playing music, NO SOUND COMES FROM THE REAR SPEAKERS. I was disappointed when i found this out. Only the sub, center speaker, and front left and right speakers play music. I will say though while watching the movie Fury, the bullet ricochet had me ducking a few times. Overall pretty happy. The only two setbacks i have is 1) No sound from rear speakers during music and 2) Nowhere in the manual, or on the website does it state you need a audio cable if your TV isnt a samsung (I have a Vizio) HDMI cables WILL NOT WORK. Overall a good system.

My husband and I had a criteria that had to be satisfied before we bought a new surround sound system. 1. It has to have decent to good reviews - Check 2. It has to have 3D - Check 3. It has to have HD - Check 4. It has to sound good in the store - Check When we brought it home it was easy to set up and sounded great right away. We had a small problem with the settings but I think that is because of the way we set it up. We have had it for months and it has worked great. I would recommend this to anyone.

Bought this to replace our 10 yr. old 5 Disk DVD/VHS Recorder AM/FM Stereo Home Theater System after it started acting up and not opening the DVD trays (different brand). We have had this new Samsung for a little over a month. This new 2015 model works great, newest technology, 3D / Smart Blu-ray Home system with FM receiver. This up converts DVDs to give a great picture, almost don’t have to spend the extra money to rent a BD disk, if you have a 42” TV as we do. It was easy to set-up connection to our home Wi-Fi. Make sure you check for and update the Firmware on the system. We had one update on ours already. The small speakers produce a really great sound for a home system in this price range. The wireless rear speakers are not 100% wireless. You have to plug the rear surround speaker wires into a 110v powered wireless box. Accordingly, if you want those speakers mounted on a wall, as we do, you will see the wires, and be limited to the spacing and placement distance from the 110v powered box. The biggest Dislike I have about this system is that I think Samsung made a design mistake by using Proprietary speaker wire Plugs for connection of the speakers to the main and surround speakers rear unit. They should have used speaker wire spring terminal connectors as they used on all of the speakers – Why use half one type connection & half a different type connection? The spring terminal wire connections are very easy to use – you have to use them anyway on the speakers! This design totally eliminates the use of heavier gauge better wires (included wires are very thin), unless you cut & splice the included wires! This also restricts the distance you can place the speakers from the main unit (wire size / gauge too small) plus the proprietary plugs on one end. Our rear surround speakers were placed on two sides of an open arch / wall span, so the design eliminates the use of my hidden wires for the rear speakers! According, we can’t place the new ones there now. Overall I feel this is a good system, would recommend, not sorry I purchased, but just be aware of the above speaker wire complaints that I have.

I bought this Samsung open-box (saved $50) for my sisters apartment. I'm an audiophile and videophile so the sound quality was nowhere near what I would be satisfied with, but my sister was fine with it. Setup was pretty simple, it's all dummy proof with the wiring. The wireless surround speaker setup was fully automatic, works well. Make sure you connect to Internet and download any firmware updates before you bother digging into the settings during setup. By default, all the speaker channels are set to 0db, so the surrounds volume levels are WAY too loud and the sub is WAY too low. An SPL meter will be necessary to balance all the channels with the built in speaker test (you can download an SPL meter app on your phone for free). Two reasons it didn't get 5 stars: 1) It says it's HDMI output has an Audio Return Channel (ARC) but it doesn't work with my sister's 42" Vizio with ARC. Everything was plugged into the correct ports, cables were brand-new HDMI 2.2, ARC was enabled on both devices...it should've worked. So I had to back to the store and buy an optical cable to get sound for her FIOS tv. Annoyed... 2)Within a week, my sister is calling me telling me there is no dialogue when she plays BD/DVDs. After burning an hour of checking it over, I found that somehow the system was sending the subwoofer channel to the center channel and the Front L/R to the surrounds, and completely lost the front channels. This only happened when the internal disc player was in use...when using the optical input (for FIOStv) everything was fine. Turning it on and off did nothing, so I yanked the plug while it was on and left it unplugged for 2 minutes, which seemed to reset everything. Hopefully nothing else silly like that happens again. Annoyed again...

Was really looking forward to this and my boyfriend (who is all about sound) was actually excited too. We found this at a great proce because it was on the open-box area and decided to take a chance. Pros: the sound quality is pretty good. The first night we purchased this, we watched Jurassic World and the surround sound was awesome considering this is a smaller theater system. We especially liked the bass. Also, set up was easy. Cons: Although the sound was great, we can tell that this would only last about a year, max. The L/R speakers sounded like they were cracking a bit already. Another thing is that at random times, the Wi-Fi surround sound speakers would fail to connect and stop working. This happened every time as we watched movies and I have to tell you that it was frustrating. Lastly, another problem we had with the Wi-Fi speakers was that for some strange reason, they would not work whenever we played music. Again, this was an open box item so maybe that had a lot to do with it. Hopefully this helps and you find what you're looking for.

I got a great price for this system around black Friday, plus I had gift cards and certificates. So I purchased this as an early Christmas gift for myself. The main reasons I got this system was because it was Samsung a trusted brand, the price point and it was 5.1 and 1000 watts. Now that I have had it several months, I can give my honest opinion. The sound quality is pretty good. The first night I purchased it I watched the first Marvel Avengers and the surround sound was good considering it is a smaller theater system. I did like the bass, but there was a little bit of crackling with one of the speakers during certain scenes. The bass was not bad. Set up was easy. Bluetooth is nice. I have connected my 6 TB HDD to the system and I can play content from it with not real problems. Some of the AVIs aren't supported though. Plays blu-rays well. Processor it pretty good. The black color is nice, but does attract a lot of dust. The EQ settings suck. Music doesn't sound good in the music mode. You have to turn the system up very high some times to hear some conversations, the voices aren't clear enough. Music sounds very washed out. Doesn't come with an optical cable, I had to purchase one separately. I would not recommend. Save your money and you can get a much better system for around or a little more then what this retails for.

Daniel, who assisted me in my purchase,was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in my selecting the right product. The entire sound system from speakers to receiver to dvd player are far more than I expected. It was easy but a bit time consuming to set up but well worth the effort. Many thanks to Dan and his expert assistance and advice.

I went in for a soundbar and walked out with this. Alot more system for basically the same price, PLUS a 3D bluray player? Perfect, however getting it to work with the TV was not easy, I followed the very simple directions but still ended having to buy an optical cord to get it to work with my cable. :/

I was looking to update my system since software updates stopped and blue-ray technology has advanced to the point that I couldn't play some of the new ones. I am not an audiophile, I just want more than what the TV provides, plus I don't have a smart TV so I wanted some of those functions like Amazon. This is a good system for the money (less than $400). Set up was pretty easy, except the speaker cables got left out, so I drove back to Best Buy thinking it would be easy to just have them give me a set. Believe it or not, the employee asked that I re-pack my equipment and bring it back then he'd give me a new complete box! Quickly thinking, I said, "well why don't you open that box you are going to give me and let's make sure there are cables in it." So he does -- he's carefully unpacking everything when a supervisor comes up, asks him what he's doing and when he finds out, instructs him to give me the &#@$ cables. Unbelievable! But I'm living happily ever after.

I use every feature of this system. The speakers are amazing. The apps on it work flawlessly - Netflix, HuluPlus, Amazon Prime, YouTube. I can control YouTube via my iPhone, it has a Bluetooth feature and let's me play my music off my iPhone through its speakers. It plays CDs, DVDs, and bluray without a problem. The quality is 100%. I do have an HD, 3D, smart tv, with high speed broadband hooked into the TV. This system compliments my tv and makes it run even better. I'm perfectly happy with it!!!

This system is easy to setup and sounds great for the price. Size is awesome for the room.
