Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this TV for my mom and there was a little learning curve for her to operate all the menus and start up procedure. once i got her all set up and showed her the functions on the remote, she loves it. the picture quality is great, I like that the edges of the TV are small, sound quality is great. overall a good TV and a good price.

Samsung - 50" Class - 8 Series

I bought this model because it was the only one that had HDMI and Composite inputs. I don't know why Samsung does not have Composite inputs in the lower series, but if you are like me, than this is the TV you will need for older equipment. I have tried converters, but I don't like using them. The picture and sound on this 8 series is very good !!

Took a while to figure out to move app icons around but finally worked it out. Doesn’t suffer from the issue they series 7 has where it needs a hard restart after a couple of weeks. But does need a hard restart to allow some eg hbo apps to be installed. Screen mirroring from iPhone works great.

Samsung Picture awesome, software could use help

The picture quality is great, and the price was just right while still have the connections i was looking for. I took 2 stars away because the OS interface and functionality left much to be desired.
