I love my Surface Pro but that screen is just too small to be staring at it for hours on end. Ultimately I decided to get this monitor for a couple of reasons. It is reasonably priced for Under $200. It has a flat screen which makes working on excel spreadsheet easy and the picture quality is sharp and crisp. It is very easy to set up, basically took it out of the box and plugged in (bought a separate Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Display Adaptor to connect to the Surface Pro ). Even Though this screen doesn't come with a camera or speaker, I have external ones I can easily hook up. Very glad I got this screen. It has greatly improved this whole "Work from Home" experience.

4.5/5
Overall the best TV I've owned. Recently upgrading from an 8 year old 40". Very easy to connect to my home network and add my streaming accounts. Very lightweight so moving/mounting was rather easy. Designed with cable management in mind to has a clean look on stand (included) or mounted (sold separately). Living room gets more sun in the afternoon/evening but still has good visibility/clear image.
My complaints are minimal: a lack of manual buttons on TV means that you have to have the remote or download an app to control power.

Overall, very satisfied with theTU8000. It's light weight, easy to install and has many features to customize your viewing preferences. The picture is sharp and vibrant. The sound is adequate for my viewing area. My only reservation is the wide stance of the legs (seems to be the current trend with new TVs); I wish it were mounted centrally so you could rotate the viewing angle easily. Also, the current software (menu) does not allow you to add OTA broadcast channels manually. My previous SANSUNG TV did.

Bought this Samsung 50" 8 Series TV back in November 2020. It was extremely easy to set up - just connected my devices (AT&T U-Verse STB, Blu-ray player, and OTA Antenna) and it figured everything out. I.e., it automatically added AT&T U-Verse, the Blu-ray player, and Live TV icons to the home screen, and the TV (& remote) knew how to talk to those devices. It automatically scanned the OTA antenna for local channels.
It's taken a while to figure out how to use all of the SmartTV capabilities of this TV (this being my first SmartTV). I'm not thrilled with the Tizen screen interface, but it's fairly straightforward. You don't necessarily need a Samsung ID to use the TV, but one is needed to download apps from the Samsung App Store. There are over 1800 apps available in the Samsung App Store, and there were a dozen or more common ones preloaded from the factory (e.g., Netflix, Prime Video, YouTubeTV, AppleTV+, Vudu, etc.) One preloaded app is Samsung TV Plus, a collection of 150+ "free" (with commercials) TV channels.
This TV allows the use of a voice assistant to do various operations on the TV (and on apps). However, I haven't set that up and used it yet. The voice assistants can be either (Samsung) Bixby, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
The remote control is a "universal remote" that learned (at setup time) how to do most things on my AT&T U-Verse STB, including controling its DVR capability. It also automatically learned how to control the (5-year-old Samsung) Blu-ray player I've got. And it can deal with the Over-the-air (Live TV) channels and the various apps as well. This is in spite of only having a relatively few buttons - basically On/Off, 1-2-3 (for displaying a number pad), Microphone (for invoking the voice assistant), a navigation wheel (with buttons for up, down, left, right, select), Home (invokes the Home screen), Play/Pause (displays a control panel for controlling video playback), Return, volume up/down/mute, channel up/down/Guide, and a few others dedicated for invoking specific apps (Netflix, Prime Video, and Samsung TV Plus). It took me a little while to get used to it. It's tailored for navigating the Samsung Tizen screen interface and the various apps. However, I can control the basic/standard/usual operations of the AT&T U-Verse STB and the Blu-ray player with it as well, but there are several capabilities of those devices that are not available through the remote. (So I can't totally abandon those old remotes.)
Anyway, I'm still getting used to this TV - learning new capabilities, trying out various apps. The picture quality is outstanding (especially for a moderately priced unit). Sound quality is pretty good, although most people will probably want a soundbar or similar.

Only have had it for 3 years and it decides to go into a loop of a dark spot or pixilation, then restarting. Really disappointed because I trusted getting a Samsung instead of a Sony. Won’t make that mistake again. Pretty expensive item to only last 3 years.

The TV itself is incredible! Crystal clear picture, smart TV automatically recognized all of my devices attached to it such as Amazon fire stick and PlayStation 4, easy to use and access tv and movies from one centralized screen. The only drawback is one common with most televisions- The sound in the TV itself lacks. Definitely be sure to purchase a sound bar with the product, this will make the experience much better in the long run

I loved everything about this TV. The set up was easy and the picture and sound quality were great. That is until it stopped working exactly two years into owning it. I have a black screen - no picture at all. So I can give it two stars - one for each year it worked.

Color is beautiful. Picture is sharp. Haven't had any problems so far.
One negative is that my last Samsung TV had a speaker jack that resembled an Ipod cord. This set didn't have one.
This left me with having to buy a small conversion box which allowed me to use the optic audio cord to the RCA adapter on my music receiver which is where my audio goes to.
One thing I did find out after I bought the adapter described above is that the TV has a Bluetooth that can also be run to my Audio Receiver. It also worked nicely.
One really cool thing about most Samsung Smart TVs is that the speakers in the TV are great if you want to watch at lower volumes. Obviously it isn't like having a soundbar or audio system, but the speakers are reasonably loud enough.
Also included as a perk are the SAMSUNG TV SMART TV CHANNELS. I have Satellite TV, Android TV, Google TV, Amazon Fire TV and a Blu-ray player.
With only 2 HDMI JACKS I used an HDMI switch to accommodate those components. I also have a rooftop Antenna as well. So if you use an Antenna, you can tune from Antenna Channel 2 through 68 or higher in some cities by tuning your source to TV.
As you tune your Antenna channels you'll be happy to know that the tuner in the TV is sensitive. I picked up over 60 channels from Boston and Providence with my 100 mile Rooftop Antenna. As you surf and explore your Antenna channels you can find the SAMSUNG CHANNELS from Channel 1000 and above. Even though you might not have an antenna, these channels from 1000 and above will be there after setup. I have Fire TV and Google TV and have many of the channels, but it is a nice little perk if you don't have those devices. I found 25 channels I would watch including ABC NEWS, CBS NEWS and many others.
Overall this is a great set. The color is just so awesome and brilliant. You should adjust the Color controls, but don't overdo it too high on how much color you use.

Absolutely amazing quality TV in every possible way, even the back of the TV looks good! Lightweight and very easy to mount on the wall. Enough inputs for my gaming systems and you can hardwire internet to it if you don't want to rely on WiFi. Its quick to load apps, faster than anything similarly priced from LG in my recent experience. The remote is also perfectly sized and even though it only has a small number of buttons the menus and the settings are very intuitive and easy to use.

While I have only had the TV for a short time, I can say I have been very impressed. This purchase was to replace a Toshiba FireTV that quit working after 18 months and the difference between the two is huge.
Picture quality really is fantastic and is so realistic. It required minimal tweaking to get optimal output. The biggest difference is with on-screen motion. The Samsung is rock solid and presents a picture that rivals much more expensive TVs. This set made my Toshiba 4K look like a 720k.
Overall setup was quick. The wireless configuration prompts you to use 5GHz instead of 2,4GHz if both are available. The latest version of the Tizen user interface is intuitive, fast, and one of the best I have used.
Smart Home integration with SmartThings and Amazon Alexa is great and simple voice commands work well. A nice feature is tap view where I simply tap my phone to the TV and my phone's screen is shared.
Sound quality is average...as good as can be expected with built-in speakers.
Overall, this is a really great 4K TV for the money and far superior to the Toshiba 4K FireTV it replaced. I would definitely purchase it again.

Picture quality is very good; however not as vivid as on my Sony Bravia.
Sound quality is good.
Angle of view is very good.
The stand which comes with the TV should have been sturdier.
Use of remote has somewhat of a longer learning curve.
No buttons on the TV ; so safeguard the remote !

Pros - Great looking picture. Sound is better than most. Size is easy to see and read. Very thin edge on tv makes it look good. Plenty connection options is great especially bluetooth for my headphones. Connects instantly. Lots of apps to choose from. Bought a swivel desktop stand because feet arr too far apart to stand on shelf. Plenty if great things with this tv. Cons - had to call support on first setup, spectrum app wouldn't install. Needed to reset the smart hub and reinstall everything again but it worked. Takes a bit to find all the options and settings and figure out what they do. Tap view i don't get how to work from their guide it beeps but doesn't change the screen. Small remote is horrible to hold and use for my big hands, it's also slippery so bought silicone skins for it on amz. The branded logo on edge of tv is rather cheap, supposed to be some kind of button under it but it looks unfinished like a trim piece is missing (expect better detail attention). All in all would recommend this to anyone for the quality and price.

We now have experienced our new Samsung smart TV for almost 2 weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Setup was easy and the color is vibrant right out of the box. There is no comparison with the image from our old 1080. It maintains the high quality image with all the connected devices and streaming services. Even the sound through our Samsung speaker system is better. I would definitely recommend this tv.

Very good 4K HD TV. It takes some getting use to because it feels like your right there. The 4K is so sharp that it looses a little of the mystical other world / dimension feel. That’s not a Samsung issue it is a 4K issue. The pictures is excellent, the sound is very good and Samsung usually stands up very well. I just replaced my original flat screen 1080p Samsung TV. It still worked well, but the color was a bit off so we upgraded. Must have been 10-15 years old. This Samsung 4K is great overall. A few minor flaws: it can blur slightly at high speed scenes, but those are a very rare thing. The remote, though voice activated, and its interface are awkward. Fortunately, our Comcast / Xfinity remote works seamlessly. I’ve also had an issue getting my Bose Sound bar to work. Yet, as I said, the audio is very good on its own. Due to a few reviews that said the legendary durability of a Samsung TV is not as good as it use to be I opted for the 5 year protection plan. I considered upgrading to a QLED version, but the reviews made it sound like Samsung hadn’t gotten all the kinks out yet. The difference between my series 8 and the series 7 Samsung TVs is a tiny bit better picture, one more HDMI port and the voice activated remote. You can decide for yourself if the extra $25-$50is worth it. I am planning on buying another one for my vacation. So, I would definitely recommend this TV.

We like the ease of set up, the picture is very good, and we might not even need to get a sound bar. That being said, the remote is hard to get used to as it is overly complex. We’ve had the sound disappear for a moment now and then and for some reason it doesn’t remember the additional feeds (like HULU and Amazon Prime) that we subscribe to.

Positive - You get over a hundred "I think" additional channels with this tv. Really good programs. The sound quality is great. Really easy to set up, just plug it in and follow the prompts. Negative - If you don't have subscriber service you don't get the 4K ultra. The picture quality is poor, even with HBO, Netflix Hulu, and a few others. The remote is difficult to use. It took a bit of getting use to. I still can't get the voice control to work tho. The tv "clicks" a lot when it is turned off, not sure why. I expected better from Samsung. I bought one 5 years ago when smart tv were bearly out, and that tv still works better than this one.

We wanted to replace our older 42 inch tv. This Samsung fit our Tv stand perfectly. It was fairly easy to set up, but took a little extra time to set up a Samsung account. It paired with our cable remote easily. Using the Samsung remote took a bit of getting used to. Not hard, but at times it takes several steps to get where you want to go. All and all a good upgrade.

I've never purchased a TV that was this simple to set up. I literally would have had to TRY to mess it up.
The click in place legs are great, and I'm sure that the cable clips are good, too. I just didn't really need them since I have only attached the power cable. Everything else is Wifi, and it works great.
The remote is a very simple design, but I haven't had any problems with its function.
The only real problem I have is a clicking noise that continues for several minutes after I turn off the unit. Forums have said that it's some kind of relay problem in the power system.
The forum and Samsung advised that the unit should be returned to the store, but I don't have the time.
I also own an LG Nano 8 Series with webOS. I wish I had purchased the 65" version of this TV instead of the 55" version of that one.
This seems to stream every service - Including HBO Max. For some reason, instead of streaming GOT, I've been binging Kitchen Nightmares on one of the included Samsung channels.
TV=Good, but Clicking=Bad
