I like the TV very much. BUT I think these companies should include instruction books with the TV. When you get as old as I am I am electronically challenged,

I really wanted to like this tv is thin and light but has very limited features for optimal adjustments, Also the interface looks great but it froze from minute one and even though I did a reset it did it again. I’m hoping this was a definitive model because Samsung it’s all I own and never let me down. Still a great budget 4k tv.

      Hi DonZ

Thank you for purchasing Samsung’s AU8000 TV and for your review. We appreciate your feedback regarding the issues you are experiencing with your remote control. You may first want to reset your remote by pressing and holding Return and Enter (the center of the navigation pad) for more than 10 seconds. After performing this reset, you will need to pair the remote to the TV again. To pair, press the Return and Play/Pause buttons simultaneously for at least 5 seconds or until a message appears on your TV indicating that the remote is now connected.

Please also check to see if your remote is charged. You can check remaining battery by going to: Settings > General > Power and Energy Saving > Available Remote Battery.

Check if the remote is sending an IR signal. If it is sending an IR signal, you will see a red colored light coming from the remote control. If the remote still will not work, it may be faulty.

Please ensure Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is enabled on your TV. With Anynet+, you can control external devices that are connected to your TV with HDMI using your TV remote. To turn on Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC), go to: Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC).

If your cable box does not support HDMI-CEC, you will not be able to use Anynet+. You may want to contact your cable company to see if an upgraded box is available. If an upgraded box is not available, you will simply need to enable the Universal Remote feature on your TV’s remote with these set-up steps:

      1) Press the Home button on your TV remote to access the Home Screen. Using the directional pad on the remote, navigate to Source. When the selector is placed over Source, the Source menu will appear. Press UP on the directional pad to access Universal Remote.

      2) Select Universal Remote on the Source screen. Next, select Start and make sure the device you want to connect is turned on. When your desired device displays, select it. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup and register the device. The instructions may vary, depending on the device type selected.

      3) Your TV and the remote will memorize the external device and its connection port (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.) to make controlling everything even easier. Occasionally, the device may not respond after it's registered. To make sure the connection is made, you need to re-register the device.

I hope this helps. For further assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support at:

      1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM -12AM EST M-F (9AM – 6PM EST Sat). Or text HELP to 62913.

So I wanna start this off by saying this is not my first 4k tv. But I have paid much less for TV's that have all of the features this TV has and while being a solid tv I can't help but think the price is not justified. The screen is beautiful and delivered a good picture. The smart tv features are responsive enough to where you don't mind using it. Unlike most smart tvs being incredibly slow. The speakers on this thing are absolutely horrible, there's just no way to ignore how bad they are. I think this is a very solid tv if you find it on sale. The screen does not get as bright as I'd like. The contrast is absolutely horrible. It's pretty solid with latency for gaming and haven't noticed much on that end. But if I where shopping for a tv again I would look towards Hisense for TV's in this size. My previous tv, a 2019 Hisense 42 inch delivered almost the exact same experience as this TV all be it ten inches smaller for almost 300$ less. I got the Hisense TV on sale for 180$ and honestly was expecting this Samsung to blow it out of the water given the price and was pretty disappointed. All in all I'd say wait for a price drop or go with a different brand. It's just okay , and if I'm spending 400$+ on something it better be better than just "okay". Still enjoying it , but pick up a speaker bar if you're deadset on this model.

Nice TV for the money, great pic but the sound leaves a bit to be desired with downward speakers, like most have, so a sound bar makes the difference but with few sales associates available to answer questions and do demo's I was left to fend for myself. Purchased a sound bar elsewhere and have a better experience now. A package deal would have been nice to offer!
