Right side of screen went dark in less than 2 years of use. It was used every day most days, so I used it alot, but still no excuse. I am giving another Samsung another try since I like the features of the brand and hoping it was just a one-off bad example, but if this new thing I'm buying dies in less than 2 years, I'll be done with Samsung.

To my knowledge it would be considered the current model year update to the 2017 I previously had. The good: it has nice picture quality, is very slim, and the price can't be beat. The bad: the sound quality is severely lacking. All sound modes produce what I can only describe as a tinny experience - a sound bar is a must. The speed of the TV in terms of browsing through the menus and home bar apps is noticeably laggy and for sure slower than the 2017 model it replaced. In a silent room, while powered-off this TV also produces a tick-tock clock noise! I can't imagine what a 7000 or 6000 series gets you if an 8000 series is this lacking. Overall, this would probably be fine in a bedroom or guest room, but is not a main living area TV.

If you are experiencing slow response to the remote, please try Device Care option under the Support Menu. This service checks memory and frees up unused cached memory and closes background apps. Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Start Device Care
Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings > Support > Software Update.
Additionally, there are image adjustments you can make to optimize your audio to suit your preferences. You can select a sound mode that you prefer for a content type or your listening environment. Go to: Settings > Sound > Sound Mode
You can also customize sound with Expert Settings. Go to: Settings > Sound > Expert Settings
Please know, Samsung TVs use a combination of metal and plastic material. These materials are subject to expansion and contraction due to temperature changes. Occasional creaking, popping, or cracking may be heard. With this in mind, here are a few quick tips on how to reduce the expansion that can cause these noises.
1) Ensure that there is adequate ventilation. Some enclosures may not allow for proper ventilation. This causes the internal temperature to increase and the plastic to expand even more than normal. For recommended ventilation requirements, please see your user manual.
2) Make sure there aren't any heating or air conditioning vents pointing directly at the TV.
3) Verify that the TV is on a flat and level surface. Tilting or an uneven stand can increase these noises.

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty bad it’s very fragile tv, I had one and one day I clean the screen with a wet water wipe and then when i connect it back to power had streaks and lines from top to bottom on a side, so fragile cannot even clean the screen when it’s dirty because got broken and Samsung didn’t respond for it… it last only six months
