Very good LED HDTV at a great price

I was looking for a LED HDTV that had a good color range and handled motion with very little to no blur. This TV fit the bill and was a great deal. The only negative is that the stand is a bit flimsy once the TV is assembled and allows the TV to wobble from left to right. Other than that the setup was great and it provides fantastic resolution, virtually no motion blur, and good color range when adjusted.

Overall the TV is great as a TV... as expected. Using the TV for web browsing is challenging at best. I bought this TV specifically because I thought that would be a great feature but it's slow and difficult to navigate. I tried TV's in the past for web browsing and thought things might have advanced but not really... leave the web browsing to laptops and tablets.

Though the price point on this TV is great, we're still in the early stages of "Smart" TV's, and this Samsung is an example. You can't do nearly as many things as you think, without an awful lot of trouble. The setup is simple, but the design has one major flaw: If you're mounting this TV on a wall, you're alright. If you're using the stand that comes with the TV, it has a very thin neck that cannot support the weight of the TV so it starts leaning back further and further the longer you have it. And when that happens, you don't see the picture well at all. Also, if you're even a little off to the right or left of the center when viewing this TV, you won't be able to see the screen without its being distorted. I had to do a lot of adjusting of the color, contrast, etc., before it really looked good. But to be frank, I sent it back because my Panasonic Viera with my streaming box works far better still than this Samsung "new" TV. Give the technology a while to work the kinks out. That's my take on it.

Got this smart tv for $540 (went to $499 as soon as I did so, grrrrr) And must say that it has a beautiful picture once set up. It unfortunately does not have and ARC hdmi so you must use an optical cable to set up your sound system with the included apps. Unfortunately the tv’s WiFi is very slow to connect to the internet which is annoying, and worse yet Netflix has a glitch in which the sound drops for a fraction of a second for no apparent reason. When I looked into this issue it seems this is a common problem with Samsung TVs, at least with older models. Seeing as your choices for non 4K TVs are very limited this is an annoyance you have to deal with. I use my fire stick and the problem is gone and connection issues are immediate. The tv is also fairly thick. Other than all that it looks great. I’m not ready for 4K and just trying to wait it out till I absolutely have to upgrade. Hope this helps.

After buying another brand 55" TV (Toshiba) and sending it back for an exchange 3 times because it/they were all flawed. We changed brands and bought our Samsung 55". It is wonderful ! The picture is crystal clear...Colors are vibrant and when watching a black & white program it is like watching a 3-D movie. The depth of the picture is amazing !! We love watching it ! Also have to say that working through the problems with the first 3 TV's, setting up the exchanges and deliveries was no problem. Best Buy is wonderful to work with. The customer service was excellent as was the delivery team ! The boys did all the setup and did a perfect job, with the customer being pleased was so very important. I would not hesitate to buy from Best Buy and will do so again !

I purchased this to replace a Sony KDS-55A2020 which was 10 years old but still had a good picture, it had a lamp that would need replacement and those were getting harder to find. I have always been a Sony person for my TV's but at this time did not want to spend that kind of money and got this for $580. The Pro's - Color is great, clarity and depth of the picture is good, deep blacks The Con's - Need better speakers (tinny sound), I have a surround system but don't want to run my receiver constantly. The in TV manual is not good, needs better explanation of what things do, better yet an actual manual that you can hold and read. This is trivial but still bothers me, the remote is too small and has a round bottom, if it's sitting on a table and you just want to hit a button without picking it up it wants to flip over. Overall it is a good TV for the money and a person would not be disappointed, but like I said I'm a Sony person and this is no Sony.

The Samsung TV shows vivid colors and sharp picture. The refresh rate isn't that great but it is an upscale 60hz with a technology Samsung is using to make it comparable to 120hz. It actually doesn't stand up quite as well. But is better than the more expensive Vizio that sported 120hz. Also missing some capabilities such as using your Samsung phone as a remote and no Bluetooth keyboard. Overall for the price of $700 for a 55 inch. It is a good deal. Just not the best on the market.

The picture quality on this TV is great, but the electronic features are minimal. I bought this with a Samsung HW-J450 soundbar, the two being sold by Amazon as a package. This TV does NOT have ARC on its HDMI, or Samsung Anynet+, so as a result the TV remote will not control the volume on the soundbar. (A Samsung TV with Anynet+ will control the soundbar from the TV remote -- ultimately I moved the soundbar to another Samsung TV where it worked just fine.) This lack makes it difficult to use this TV with a surround sound system, or even with a soundbar from the same manufacturer, unless you are happy using multiple remotes or you are willing to program a universal remote to work with the various components of your system.

I will say, my boyfriend and I moved apartments and had his Samsung tv that was about 7 years old and 10 inches less. We took a look at this tv and couldn't turn it down, even though it was an out of the box display. It came out about $200 less then the box models, but despite that the color is amazing, works great with different viewing settings and custom visual changes. We're so happy with this purchase and the team from Best Buy in Parker Colorado that helped us get it in the car (barely fit!). Thank you Best Buy

Did my research on the 50" model, got to store & decided to go with the 55". The picture is really great and we only have antenna tv. Taking my time figuring everything out, but +++ on the guide that shows what is coming on that night, still checking out smart hub. We got this tv as a replacement for a different brand (V) that had major issues that could not be fixed. I want to give a super A++ to Tamika who went over and beyond to help us out, great customer service. !!

I've been using Samsung products for many years, and in my experience they offer some of the highest quality electronics on the market. This TV is no exception. The picture is clear and crisp, and continues to look great regardless of viewing angle. This is my first smart TV, and now that I've experienced the quick access to streaming content that it offers, it's going to be difficult to ever go back! I love having the TV on my home network. It's a snap to stream content from my mobile devices and PC. I couldn't possibly be more pleased with this purchase!

I found this TV as an open-box item at the Springfield, VA store for only $606!! High quality images on dynamic picture setting, decent sound despite the small speakers to keep the TV low profile. I didn't need the 240Hz refresh rate for this particular purchase, so the 120Hz was just fine. The streaming services work seamlessly on this TV as well. I do wish this TV had 4 HDMI inputs instead of 2, but it's serviceable enough to be well worth the price. If you have a receiver with multiple HDMI ports or an HDMI switcher, this issue becomes a non-issue.

GREAT TV FOR VERY LITTLE MONEY

I had a need for an LED HDTV that was 500 dollars or less and my max size was 60" based on wall space available. I am a loyal Samsung fan, so Samsung is all I looked at. I was able to get this 55" TV for less than 500 bucks even after 8% tax, which I calculated ahead of time. This is a Smart TV, with built-in WiFi. Amazing. This TV would be like triple this amount 2-3 years ago. I have no need for anything better than 1080p and that's the very best my cable TV provider offers anyway, so I steer clear of those TVs that are truly incredible, but are ahead of their time in my opinion (Ultra HD, 4K, etc). This is the best bang for the buck.

We bought this to replace 5-year old plasma. Initial setup is very easy. This model has only 2 HDMI plugs and we're aware of this. We have it for only 3 weeks and we're happy with our choice (quality vs. price). We use it for watching tivi and movies only, so it's very good for these purposes. It's in the living room and we have no problem for the bright (as we did have with the old plasma).

I got the floor sample for I think $500 altogether. Was missing the box, remote, but fortunately -there is an app for that (manual not the box) and old smartphone has now a new life. Smart functions work fine, bit slow if you are used to quick computers and latest smartphones, but does the jog. Fiddled with picture adjustment and calibration software (THX) - short of going to 4K - I do not see how the LED can do any better than this.

This is the fourth TV of various size from Samsung that I have bought in recent years as our home has grown to need more TVs in more rooms and I continue to be very satisfied with their products. My only complaint is that the default contrast setting is high, which I hate - I think this makes the picture looks like a Telenova - and it always takes me a while playing around with the setitngs to get it where I like. A nice feature on this model, however, that I don't recall on the others is the ability to set your video preferences for all sources at once so the Blu-ray on HDMI2 has the same settings for contrast, etc. as the cable box on HDMI1.

I bought this tv because I was looking for something bigger than my 40" that I had previously. I have now had this set for a little over a month and could not be happier with the purchase. I was originally going to get the 50" but a sale made the 55" cheaper. Picture quality is impressive, sound isn't bad for most shows. I don't really use the smart function as I have 3 other devices hooked to the tv that can stream. I did however try the smart function and everything seemed to work great. All in all, this was a great purchase as far as quality, picture, sound and price. I would recommend this model to my friends and family.

We love the picture quality and built in applications like Netflix, Amazon and HBO Go as well as built-in WiFi and wired Internet connections. The only downside we've found is slow response time to accessing the apps menu (samsung calls this smart hub) The delay can be frustrating causing a repetitive loop of pressing buttons thinking perhaps you didn't access the menu, only to find you've pressed the button twice and now the menu will close. Solid picture quality though so this is why only 4 out of 5 stars for us.

The TV works for my bedroom. I didn't care about the smart features as I use that in another room from another TV purchased at Best Buy a few months ago. Great picture color and quality and great sound (I did have to adjust the volume up a little from factory set volume). The only thing I noticed was that the feature to change to a full screen was not an available option for one of the channels I watch (has the black space above and below the picture). Not that big of a deal but I'm not sure why the feature was greyed out so that I could not select in the settings.

The Samsung is a really good value for the price point. When comparing it to other models, it was hands down the top choice. I only gave it 4 Stars because I have a Samsung 8500 that is truly a work of art and is a true 5 Star TV. When you are looking at this TV be sure to cycle it through all of its viewing modes before you make your selection. This model has a really low energy setting and the TV screen is entirely to dark in that mode. You can change modes to sports or movie and the picture becomes best in class.
