Did a lot of research from Consumer Reports, and rtings.com. This model breaks thru the pack. Easy setup, excellent picture and pleasing 3D performance. Got on sale @ $1500 - worth it at $1700. Have surround sound but tv speakers very good.

First off this is a very nice TV and I am still happy with my purchase. However I don't think I saw a review about how bad reflections are on it. It is Very obvious compared to my older 47" LG. It is not the best TV for the living room with lights on if you tend to notice reflections. I notice that now at night time I am turning off ALL lights in the house instead of just worrying about 1 directly in front of TV..... I sit slightly off to the left of the TV laying on couch and can see my kitchen (right of TV 5 ft behind where my head is.... if that makes sense) very clearly IF the light is on in there. Never noticed b4 with old LG. I also didn't like the fact that during a football game it likes to ask stupid questions (at about halftime) Likes to ask How does X quarterback compare to Y quarterback. First time I saw this it was a Patriots-Titans game and asked me "How does Zack Mettenburger compares to Tom Brady" and made me answer "WTF.... THEY DON'T! You stupid TV!" I'm sure I will be able to turn this function off but after a few months I haven't tried yet. Oh and the "Sports mode" it makes most NFL fields look neon green and blends the grass into a consistant color which is weird (Players and ball still look fine though)

My 10 year old plasma tv finally bit the dust. I found this to have almost the same rich blacks I was used to watching. The colors are great, and the upscaling of 1080p content is a plus. I can't wait to get the 4k player, and some 4k bluray movies.

When I decided to move up to a 4K TV I chose Samsung because my last TV was a Samsung HDTV which did a great job. I waited for the "J" (i.e. 2015) Series to come out because I wanted to make sure I got HDMI 2.0 connectivity (in preparation for 4K Blu-ray players). I bought the JS8500 because it was the best non-curved screen Samsung TV. Pros: - 4K (i.e. 3840x2160) resolution - great colors and black levels (nanocrystal display) - pretty good 3D (it still looks a little dim to me) - 4 HDMI 2.0 ports (on the OneConnect box) - no picture flaws (i.e. no dead or stuck pixels) Cons: - The OneConnect box connects to the TV with a proprietary cable that was about a foot too short for me. (My TV is wall mounted with shelves below it.) - The TV provides a setup feature which is supposed to turn on external devices when their input is selected. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I decided that my "cons" were not bad enough to remove a star.

No doubt the very best picture, by far, that I've ever owned! Went to the store to buy a very good HDTV. Was not even considering 4K, and absolutely no interest in 3D. (Still have no interest in 3D.) Was comparing sets on display, when a sales associate (who knew his products, which is extremely rare at Best Buy) pointed this one out. The picture was so much better than regular HD. That and the sale price got me--had to have it! I must get some 4K DVD's and a 4K player.

Great tv for the price great picture really clear and crisp I am glad I went with the suhd 3D 4K over the Sony...

Upgraded from a Sony 1080P LCD and the difference is exceptional. The Sony for its time had a great HD picture but had ghosting problems with the LCD. The Samsung LED Ultra HD has no problems that I can see after the first month. Got the faster refresh rate that solves the moving problem and with the Ultra the colors and contrast is superb. 100 percent recomendation.

The picture on this is amazing. I shopped around for a couple of months deciding which tv would would suit me better. This is the best picture I could get at this time and let me tell you it is great. Colors are amazingly vibrant, the preset picture modes are great and with very little tweaking, the picture is phenomenal. I can't get over how great the picture is.

I've had this TV about a month and could not be more happy with its purchase. I love it. So here's the highs and lows. Amazing picture, very easy setup, the simplicity of the remote (but it does take getting used to) and finally the smart hub that is utilized by the TV. My only complaint is sound quality is thin at best. That can be remedied by a sound bar, something I would recommend. Bottom line, you won't be disappointed with this TV...

This tv is absolutely clear. Bright colors..picture on the tv is amazingly clear. I also use the smart tv options and I love everything about my tv

Great picture but when it comes to typing in desired channels I miss having the numbers on the remote.

first, let me say - i did a LOT research before i purchased this tv. most expert reviews said the curved tv doesn't help the picture and can often hurt it - so i only looked at non curved. among non curved this tv had the best average review for my price range (around $2,000). plus, it came with a free sound bar (which also got great reviews and was valued at something like $350). the blacks aren't as black as an old tv but oled's are much more expensive and have faults in other areas. overall, a good tv for gaming (has a, "game mode"), movies and sports. one last thing, i recommend going to a pro website to calibrate the tv so the colors and modes are perfect. the websites are easy to find and it only takes about 15 minutes to manually do that. great tv for the price. i highly recommend.
