This TV was a fantastic purchase! The picture quality is unreal in comparison to anything I've owned. It was my first high famerate TV, and it definitely takes a personal adjustment to get used to the higher framerate, but that's to be expected with anything new. The remote can be annoying at times as there is a mute button on the side right in the spot my finger likes to sit when I pick it up. The mute button is also pretty sensitive. Regardless, the TV is epic. I've been having a weird phenomenon happen with the smart hub where it randomly shuts off and turns on my bluray player, but this is relatively rare. The apps all work well. Haven't tried the 3D yet. All in all, I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

We've had this TV for about a month now, the picture is awesome! I think it could use a boost with the sound, we are looking at purchasing a sound bar to go with it in the future. The sound as is, is fine for now. 3D was an added bonus for us, not something we were necessarily looking for. It has been fun to play around with. The 3D glasses do go through batteries fairly quickly and may be something to keep in mind if 3D is important to you. This is our first smart TV and I don't know how we lived without it already! Love that You Tube and Netflix are so easily available. We had a chrome cast prior and had several issues with it. This makes everything much more reliable. Overall I'm very happy with our purchase!

I want to say first that this is the best TV I've ever had. I'm gonna be straight forward and give you the pros and cons of this set. Pro. 1. Samsung Quick Connect This is probably my favorite of them all. Samsung Quick Connect! OMG. So Samsung quick connect is a feature that can be used with Samsung phones, I'm not sure which models but I'm sure you can find a list with the power of the Internet. But I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and the quick connect feature allows me to stream content from my phone to the TV, such as music, videos, and pictures. But it doesn't stop there. You can mirror your phone display right to the TV. Got a favorite game on your phone? Guess what? You can stream it to the big screen! Wanna use your Web browser on the big screen? You can! Now this is my favorite. You can do everything vice versa! Yes everything on your TV screen can get sent to your phone. Not to be nasty or anything but your favorite TV show can be watched in the bathroom on the toilet on your phone. No pausing is needed. I've washed dishes and had my phone in front of me watching the NBA playoffs because I can stream the TV to the phone. I've played the Xbox one on my phone as well because the TV can stream anything that's on the TV to the phone. It's amazing. Don't wanna keep your partner up with the TV light in the room? Cut the TV off and it'll still stream to your phone while the screen is off! I love it. 2. The picture. We all know OLED is the future when it comes to TVs, but this is one of the best TVs you can find on a LED screen. This TV really shines while watching movies. It's mesmerizing watching the beauty of the display watching one of your favorite movies. 3. 3D I'm not a big fan of 3D movies. I think the glasses disrupt your peripheral vision and can be distracting to someone who doesn't wear glasses on the regular, but I must say I was impressed with the beauty of watching a 3D movie at home and looking just as good as seeing one in theaters. 4. Design. The design of the TV, is sleek and modern. Will look great in any room of the house. 5. Price. Even though it's kinda expensive for some. You get the value for what you pay. 6. Sound. Sound quality is the best I've heard from a TV set. I don't really use my soundboard anymore. But my soundboard isn't the best either lol. Cons. 1. Color options. It'll be nice to have different color bezels or maybe a skin for the bezel. Silver is the only option. Not even black. This can throw off the look of your room if you're going for a certain look in your room. 2. Picture in picture The PIP mode only work when your cable cord is connected directly into the back of the TV and not the cable box. So it's worthless to me at the moment without me having to add extra wires. 3. Gaming This set isn't the most ideal for gaming. But there is a game mode that will reduce input lag, but the picture quality will take a hit. 4. The remote The remote could be a lot better. I like the Wii style remote. But I'll take physical buttons any day over a pointer remote. It's cool, it's new technology. But it's not as productive as a physical button for simple things. 5. Sport Mode. I'm not exactly sure what samsung is selling here. But from my experience it look to me as if they just boost up the brightness and tone out the commentary of live sports games. I don't see any upgrade at all watching sports. But they do say it's for soccer. I may have to do more research. Overall I'm very happy with the my 4KTV set. I'm a new Samsung fan. Photo is me playing The Division on the XBOX ONE, streaming from the TV to my phone. The Galaxy S7 Edge

Some people I see are commenting and complaining about things that are their fault and deal with their lack of understanding rather than the fault of the TV. After trying a Vizio M series, a Sony x830c, and now this, this is by far one of the best TVs I have ever seen a d clearly beats the competition. I saw complaints about the remote and no mute, or that the painter was inaccurate. That is completely not true. The pointer is very accurate and there is a mute button on the side of the controller. I also saw people saying they couldn't control their Sony sound system or their cable box with this TV and remote. That is also untrue. You have to have your sound system connected through the ARC HDMI, and CEC must also be enabled on both. I'm running this TV with a Sony HTXT1 and a Time Warner HD cable box. I have no issues controlling sound, channels and the TV with the Samsung remote, its actually quite easy. This is by far the best tv I have ever owned and is great for gaming with my Xbox one and watching movies or sports. 3D mode is also exceptional. Btw, I'm an electronics and comms engineer, this is a solid TV with just about every feature you want to stay future proofed for the next few years.

A soon as I opened the box of my new Samsung TV I noticed the quality and the modern design of the frame, but nothing compares to the features and intuitive menus and the really nice and simple smart remote. The image is so clear even the old regular DVDs look better and the blue ray DVDs amazing!, they also have improved the sound from prior flat screen TVs, now is so powerful and crisp. This is about my 5th Samsung TV and I plan to keep on buying this brand only. Keep it up Samsung!

This TV is a great value. It has all of the features you could want in a 4K set: great UHD and HD picture, Smart capabilities, convenient motion-controlled remote, tons of display customizing options, a plethora of inputs for external devices, and very decent native sound (and even 3D). Works great with Xbox One as well. The best part is it's still holding up its value from near the end of last year when I purchased it. Overall, you get a great value for your money and it will certainly last you at least 2-3 years as far as tech is concerned. Only the super expensive OLED beats this in my view. If you want big and want 4K, this is the TV for you.

I can not believe the picture quality of the 4k TV. The colors are so nice and it has excellent picture in 3d as well. Makes you feel like your right there in the TV. It is so lifelike with 3d that i watch my son's reaction to the 3d. I think he feels like he is in the action also. Samsung is an excellent company for all the items they produce. I have more of their products as well. I am totally sold on Samsung.

This TV is a purchase that's really hard to regret especially if you got it at the $1500 holiday price. I remember when HD was new and a TV like this probably would've ran somewhere in the low 5 figures. Once you play a reference quality blu-ray disc (Pacific Rim, Avatar, Dark Knight Rises) it'll feel like you got the TV at a mismarked price at Best Buy's expense. The only issue is the cost for the upcoming 4k blu-ray players. It's basically like buying a game console but with less capabilities. I don't think playing 4k is a reason to charge an extra $200-300 for a player. I'll wait till 4K discs are a little more seasoned and the players drop more in price. Overall, still a beautiful tv both with design and picture. The current lack of 4K content (although it's growing) is somewhat excusable for now given that 1080p content looks sharper on a 4K screen through upscaling, especially with video games. I honestly don't think I'd be happier with any other TV in this price range and this is coming from someone who did about half a year of browsing and research before actually making a purchase. But it was undoubtedly worth the wait.

Very good picture quality! Like the different picture modes built in to TV. Set up was fairly easy with our existing whole house audio, but if we can do it so can you! The remote control takes a bit to get used to, but once you realize it works like a mouse, it is easy to get used to. We looked at this 4K vs. the ultra thin Sony and went with Samsung because we have two existing Samsungs and are happy with them and because we have our TV on a stand, not wall mounted and the Sony stands were very flimsy, felt like if we walked by the TV it would fall over!

This is one of Samsung's top of the line tv's and, personally speaking, the picture is much better than the 7000 or 6000's series. The blacks are very rich and the quality of movies are cinematic to say the least. The remote control is sleak, easy to use, and very well constructed. Got this on sale and couldn't be happier with the tv. I actually made my decision based on comparing both the 8500 & 7000 side by side at my local best buy store and I could clearly tell the difference in the black colors between the 2 models. Although the 55" was the same price as the 60" 7000 model and both are beautiful looking tv's, I wanted to go with quality over size.

This TV has the best color and the sharpest picture image of any TV that I have ever owned. Samsung TV's are awesome. My old 46' Samsung 1080p has a great picture but the 4K SUHD technology has the brightest picture and best 3D images of all of the TV's that I looked at before my purchase. I am a meticulous researcher and a picky buyer, and I have no doubt that I could not have purchased a better TV for the price. I have owned this TV for about a month and am still finding new features to enjoy and use.

If you're looking for an upgrade to an older tv and want a fun new experience, you should definitely try this smart tv. This is my first smart tv and I have to admit it has been a really fun experience. This tv replaced my older 46 inch Samsung. I bought it for two primary reasons: One was that my older Samsung has been the best tv I had ever had up until this one, both picture and build quality (it's still going strong and has become my tv in the bedroom). The other is because this tv looks absolutely amazing with its thin frame and brushed silver and chrome accents. The tv looks almost as good off as it does on! Other reasons it impresses me is that it is future proof. This tv will last through the years as gadgets change so I shouldn't need to buy another tv for a long time, which is great, because I usually only buy one about once every 10 anyways. The picture is phenomenal! 3d is fun but I don't use it often. It sure makes Playstation 4 games look great! In fact, the only minor complaint I have about the tv is the game mode function is somewhat buried in the options and I actually had to go online to find out where it is located. There may be a way to set it up for easier access, but I have not found a way. I wish this was a simple button push, or at a minimum, have it in the picture menu. All in all, if you aren't going to hook this thing up and test it's hardware and pin it up against the best tech out there right now, I think you will love this tv. If you do plan on doing this, I bet you will still find it as a top contender for many of the quality tv's in this price range.

I have 2 other Samsung TVs and have been pleased with the products for years. Excellent picture and great color. Since the audio is average I used a sound bar to enhance the sound. Only came with one remote control which requires internet connection to operate all functions except the on/off function which will operate all the time. Very pleased with the TV.

I reviewed 4k televisions on-line for some time before purchasing this television. I had intended to purchase another brand. When I went to BestBuy the salesman showed me the differences between the 4K I was intending to buy and also other 4K televisions. He then showed me the television of his choice last, showing the difference in clarity, color and lack of motion blur. He highly recommended this television over the one I had intended on purchasing that also had a much higher price. I feel he introduced me to a better television with more advanced features for less money. Bottom line we love this 4K TV. We love the internet accessibility with the ability to easily watch anything from Netflix to Facebook. I like this Samsung so much I intend to purchase another to replace another television in my man cave.

I had very high expectations for this TV. Those expactions were all exceeded. The picture quality is great and the 3d is amazing. (Though there is little 3d content available, but that is another story). I watched Prometheus 3d on blu-ray and was amazed. Regular HD tv on Uverse looks incredible. UHD 4k on Netflix is amazing. The only thing I wished it had was a way to display the resolution of the input. I am always wondering if I am really getting 4k from Netflix because my connection speed is a little bit below what Netflix recommends. 100% recommend this TV over any other 55"

I recently upgraded my tv from 2004. I had an old Mitsubishi progression tv that i also purchased at Best Buy then. I did a lot of research on the new 4k tvs and found this model to be one of the best. There is a huge difference between the true Samsung panels and the cheaper ones. This tv at the price point was a great buy. The colors are so rich and deep. It's incredible when watching Blu Ray movies. Haven't used the 3D function as of yet. Only drawback was not buying during black friday and cyber monday as the price was at $1499 which was a great deal. The week after Cyber Monday, the price jumped to $1999, which i ended up paying. It went on sale shortly after to $1799 and Best Buy refunded me the difference. I do recommend delivery as they bring it in and set it up for you and haul away the old one. It is a beautiful tv for the price point and the SUHD is a step above and is highly recommended.

I bought the 55" version of the tv and could not be happier. The colors are amazing and the blacks are dark and rich. Lots of great apps built in, and the controller is the best I've ever used. Initially I was very skeptical about the mini connect box, but it has proved to be very convenient and helps with wire maintenance.
