I love this tv, the picture alone is worth the money it makes you feel like your in the show. The Samsung one connect makes hooking up all your hdmi devices a breeze. I have an older receiver and was worried about compatibility issues but this tv comes with all the conections you need. The remote feels good and has a cool built it universal remote. All in all if you are on the fence buy it you won't be disappointed!

I couldn't be happier with this TV. The picture is straight up amazing and the set is aesthetically attractive, which is always a great thing. The sound from the TV speakers themselves is even pretty decent, though I did get a soundbar with the TV for free due to a promotion at Best Buy. I'm not sure the 9500 is worth the extra money for the few features you get, and I'm not a fan of curved TVs. For me, this TV is perfect.

I have very little to not like about this TV. The picture, the sound and the setup are all great. The only 2 things I am not enthused about are the remote and the switcher box that all components plug into to connect to the TV. The remote has very few buttons, not even numbers for direct channel changing. It is a lot like a Wii controller as it is mostly motion controlling everything. As for connection to the TV it has a separate little box that it comes with that all components plug into and that plugs into the back of the TV. Overall if you get a different remote if your not into the motion control this is an amazing set to pick up for not a lot of money.

This is a great TV with an amazing picture. Not much 4K out there, but we've streamed some which has been great. The upscaling is also very impressive. It took some doing to get it set up, and honestly, Samsung support was a bit underwhelming, but the Geeks were helpful, and once I figured out what I was doing it went well. Very happy with the purchase, and looking forward to the football season!

There are some good, great and bad things most of which other folks have touched on and since I didn't read all of those other reviews I'll just go ahead and summarize by saying that the Nano Crystal provides very deep, rich colors that have the potential to skew the picture into the realm of totally unrealistic. The ultra high definition videos I have viewed are really great and I am unable to see pixels even at close range with magnification of reading glasses. The OTA tuner is fast and strong and here in my local programming area the 1080i programming performs extremely well with no problems associated with upscaling such as I've experienced with slower refresh rates on other televisions that I have bought and returned leading up to this which were a total of 3. I will not rag on those other brands but this television totally eclipsed those in picture quality. The negatives I have experienced in this set are primarily with the OS because it is not capable at this point of utilizing any app such as Flash Media apps and other streaming apps that unfortunately are not compatible such as FX Now and others. That may change with future updates however I am still going to have to go with something like the next gen of Apple TV which is 4K ready. The other slightly negative thing is that if you wish to view realistic colors then the movie picture mode must be selected but that is also a bit lower contrast due to the typical movie setting of brightness and contrast. The custom settings could be used to achieve a realistic color however I have not messed with that yet and am usually watching movies which the movie mode works well with. Had I had more $s I would have definitely gone with the LG OLED however it was way too expensive and there is little known about its long term reliability. All in all I would say that for a Black Friday sale price of what I paid there was nothing that could touch this television.

We did the research and decided on this TV. A great TV, easy to set up, easy to use. We really like the external mini external interface box. It was great to be able to mount the TV and run the cable inside the wall to the component stand. 1 wire replaced several old ones. And makes it easier to add devices later as we have a few open HDMI ports on the interface box. About the only Con is the remote. They try to do too much with too few buttons. Making channel selection a bit tough.

So I have owned many Samsung TVs and this TV is by far my favorite. The picture is fantastic. I moved my PS3 from my 67" Samsung DLP to this new TV and every game looks like it is playing on a brand new system! The iPhone app is easy to use and I have enjoyed showing off pictures to friends and family from my couch.

Have had a number Samsung plasma's and LCD's TV's over the years and this JS8500 does not disappoint. Beautifully bright picture. Motion control and dark blacks are so much improved on these new models. Have not tried any 3D yet but Netflix and all other apps used have worked perfectly. Highly recommended.

I've been a Sony guy for decades, but my kids all said the Samsung is better. I read all the reviews, went to the store and compared the picture. According to the results, I have to agree with my kids. As far as reliability goes, the Sony brand is pretty good, but not what I would call excellent. My Sony TVs have all failed (except a couple CRT types that are still going strong in various roles) . I come to the conclusion that I'm paying a premium for the Sony brand but I'm not really getting anything for my extra money. The picture on this TV is so good, even at 1080P, that it's almost as if the actors are in the room with you. Sometimes that is scary. Hopefully it will last a long time. So far, so good.

I love the new Samsung TV and the stunning difference 4k video makes. I have gone to YouTube and there are many excellent 4k videos that you can watch for free. I can't wait for the newly announced Samsung 4k blu ray player to be released and to be able to play 4k videos on it. I watched my first at home 3D movie, Gravity, and it was better than in the Movie Theater! Overall the TV picture and color and price just can't be beat. I highly recommend this TV.

This tv replaced an old plasma that died on Super Bowl weekend. I love sports so it was important for me to have the 240 HZ motion rate. I love the picture! It's is so bright and even has a sports mode. Very easy setup with the one connect mini! The television is very thin so it looks nice since you are really seeing picture only. Would definitely recommend!

This unit was definitely top of its class when I purchased it back in the summer of 2016. It's 2018 now, and it's still an amazing TV compared to anything that my friends and family have. Beautiful display, amazing color range, and outstanding framerate (be advised that "Motion Rate 240" is not actually 240fps, but I guess it's like an upgraded version of 120fps...?). The design itself is also a sight for your eyes - very slim, and the small silver bezels are way easier on your eyes than the typical black that you'll find on most TVs. Also upscales just about everything as flawlessly as you can get; the only lag I've ever experienced is on my Nintendo GameCube (which is like 360p technology). Even the speakers are pretty quality (frankly, I probably don't need the Bose sound bar that I bought to accompany it). My only gripe is that I can't seem to calibrate the smart remote (it's off-center when using the pointer).

I have purchased this tv on sale and it is a great tv!! picture is amazing but remember the cable provider does not broadcast in 4k. Once you put 4k videos the picture is amazing! Really easy to set up and the remote is very easy - no problems at all here if you have used a computer before you wont have a single problem with it. I have purchased an extra warranty 2year plan from Geek Squad - peace of mind! Overall so far so good!!

It doesn't take 4K content to get sharp and clear pictures with this product. Upscaling does the job. The sharpness and clarity just blows you away. As an example, we occasionally watch H&G channel from Dish using the least expensive receiver they offer. Prior to the new set the picture was barely adequate. Now it is sharp and clear. Blue-ray disk content is particularly good. Overall we give this Samsung 4k set five stars.

Great picture and a really beautiful case. I'm not sold on the remote but I'm getting better at using it. The smart features are great. What little 4k programming that is available is awesome.

Was looking for a TV and came upon this wonder. An excellent tv with great picture and color. Love the pointer feature and all the other extras. It's my first "smart tv" and just love it. Sleek design. Best Buy price matched the competitor, which made it an even sweeter deal! And not to mention, it also came with a free 32 inch LED tv as well.

The Samsung JS8500 series High Definition TV is in a class by itself! The picture is unbelievably great -- with the highest resolution and clarity of any TV in this price range. It's razor thin and very elegant mounted on my articulating wall mount. When watching sporting events -- it's like you are right there with the teams!

After returning a Sony 4k TV which we did not like, I made it a point to allow my wife to choose our next TV. We wanted a different Samsung model but it was out of stock so she chose the Samsung 8500 4K 55" TV. Love the thin model of this TV, but not thrilled with the HDMI ports. The ports are located on a separate mini controller box that plugs into the TV. The mini controller box can handle up to 4 hdmi slots. The color on the TV is beautiful and vibrant. Can't wait to see what this TV can do when 4k channels are actually broadcasted in abundance. During setup, Avatar was playing on one of the Fios channels and I just stood there and starred in amazement. Xbox One games look amazing on this TV. I do notice one in a while and it is probably do to the channel broadcasting the show but it looks like it skips or tries to play catchup to the picture. I inquired about it with a Best Buy rep and i was told it does it to all TVs so it may not be limited to just this set. Other than this slight flaw the TV is worth it. It doesn't have a lot of settings like the Sony 4k TV does, but it does have a nice set of features that are not on the Sony 4K TVs. We got a good deal and only paid $1,499 for the TV and we are looking forward to years of enjoyment watching it. Take a look at the TV, hopefully you will be equally impressed with the TV as we were.

The resolution on this TV is phenomenal. 3D TV's haven't really sold well to consumers but I did want 1 and this was 1 of the top models Samsung offered. I already owned a Samsung but I wanted a bigger screen. I'm completely satisfied. Can easily switch from different modes with remote and remote can even control my cable box.

After much online research and in store comparison talking to experts at my local Best Buy (who by the way are extremely knowledgeable across manufactures on the merits of products carried) I decide to purchase a Samsung Samsung JS8500 Series UN55JS8500FXZA LED Smart 4K Ultra HDTV from BestBuy. Even through I found this slightly cheaper from other reputable dealers online BestBuy was happy to price match. The product was delivered promptly and with greatest professionalism. It was delivered as promised on time without any fuss. The Product itself is simply amazing and really is probably the best HDTV you can buy on the market. My configuration is the TV is wall mounted and connected to XBOX, Comcast cable and directly with my Home network via CAT6 cable. You have to try it out to believe the tight integration and the ease with which you can access live and networked content - simply brilliant
