Great TV without all the bells and whistles

We wanted a 65" TV without paying for all the smart TV features. We have a Playstation 3 so we didn't see the point in paying for something else to do the same things. This TV is great, but not right out of the box. You have to make some adjustments to the settings. I added pictures of the settings we used to the pictures of the product unless Bestbuy removes them. We couldn't be happier!

I window-shop TV's about every six months or so, looking for the right TV at the right price. I found this one on sale and the time just seemed right to buy. I can't say enough good things about the TV itself. Many modern TVs are very feature-heavy, with internet connectivity, and other bells and whistles better handled by other devices, such as a PS3, Xbox360, media PC, etc. This TV is exactly what is should be - a TV. I don't have to wrestle to turn on or off features between devices to have a good experience watching television. I do recommend investing in some Geek Squad assistance or a calibration disc if you are a less tech-savvy user though. The setup, while not overly complicated, takes a while to "dial in" a more natural picture. The TV itself seems to ship with picture settings more at home in a showroom; the picture is overly bright and saturated and far, far too sharp. That said, once you get it there, any HD viewing or gaming is absolutely impeccable with no loss in picture quality even under the busiest of conditions. The connections on the TV themselves are easily accessible though I do wish it had one or two more HDMI and maybe even another Component connection. Also, strange note, be ready to dust this TV OFTEN! It seems engineered to pick it up at an alarming rate. Just something I noticed over the last couple weeks, not a reason to reconsider the TV! I can't rate the sound to any degree since I use a home theater system instead. Overall this is a great purchase, albeit less so at full price; if you can find this television on sale, buy it.

I upgraded from a 55 inch Sony that is now in my bedroom to this giant. Really clear picture. Had it delivered yesterday and watched sports / blu rays all night. Used some settings found out the internet to tweak the the picture. I have the Geek Squad coming on the 30th of december to calibrate. They did the 55 inch Sony and it make a big difference. If you are in the market for a nice LED set, you will not go wrong with this one.

I was upgrading from a 46 inch flat screen. This TV is a great buy for such a large screen. Picture is very good, after making the adjustment I will describe below. I was very disappointed that it only has 2 HDMI ports. I have a cable box, a blu-ray DVD, and an appleTV. I had to choose which 2 would get HDMI, or get some kind of splitter. I was advised that using HDMI with the cable box will not currently provide any benefit due to the cable's compressing the hi-def signal. So, I hooked up component cables from the cable box to the TV and they seem fine. I was irritated for the first week that some shows looked like "soap opera" quality. This is very hard to describe, but it has a cheap video quality that is unpleasant. I searched the Internet and was surprised to learn of the "soap opera effect". This occurs when hi-def TVs attempt to smooth motion by interpolating frames in between the 24 fps that movies, etc., are broadcast. You can turn this off by going to the TVs Menu, then Mode, then scroll down to Picture Options, then scroll down to Auto Motion Plus -- turn this bad-boy OFF. After that, I really like the picture quality. I can't comment on the sound quality because I bought a sound bar for audio.

I had a Panasonic plasma before this and that was a great tv, had it for about 11years and just died. I got this tv for its size. Picture is not as clear and refresh not nearly as fast as my old plasma. But overall it is a good tv. Easy to set up. Need surround sound because sound is not the best either.

This TV is definitely a great looking tv. We have other brands and Samsung by far has definitely been a much more beautiful picture than others with great colors, especially on hd and blu ray dvds. Still heavy for a flat screen so you definitely will need help setting this TV up. They should have added at least 4 hdmi Overall a great buy for a TV that should last a very long time.

Good deal for the price (got it on Black Friday sale), but minimum features. Nice picture and sound, easy to set up. Wish it had more features and more inputs. Not enough connection options, only 2 HDMI inputs and one Composite. And no option to connect to the Internet or WiFi.

I wanted a LED TV with a good picture and nothing else and this Samsung fit the bill. You can't access the internet, no Wi-Fi, nothing. Just a good clear picture. And sound quality? Forget about it, but anyone buying a big screen TV like this should also be purchasing some sort of sound system. Easy, user friendly set up and in a few minutes you are good to go.

I'm really happy with this TV purchase. The picture quality is excellent (particularly after an ISF calibration by Geek Squad). I have a home theater/receiver system and have not tried the speakers at all. I was originally thinking about getting a 3D/Smart TV, but this model was literally half the price (and 5" _LARGER_ ) than the 3D/Smart TV models I was considering. Frankly, I knew I wouldn't use 3D much and with all of my set top boxes/game systems I wasn't likely to ever use built-in "smart" features. This replaced a 65" Mitsubishi DLP and my room feels so much larger as that TV was about 2 feet deep and this one is, of course, hanging on my wall. I hung the TV myself using the Rocketfish Tilting wall mount (linked below) and it's been great. If you aren't going to do an ISF calibration I recommend trying the following settings: --Picture menu Mode: Movie Backlight: 15 Contrast: 100 Brightness: 45 Sharpness: 0 Color: 48 Tint: G50/R50 Advanced settings submenu Color space: Auto White Balance: [see below] Gamma: +1 Dynamic contrast: Off Black tone: Off Flesh tone: 0 Motion Lighting: Off White Balance submenu R-Offset: 26 G-Offset: 24 B-Offset: 25 R-Gain: 24 G-Gain: 25 B-Gain: 20 Picture options submenu Color tone: Warm2 Size: Screen Fit Digital Noise Filter: Auto HDMI black level: Low Film mode: Auto Auto motion plus: Custom -- Custom settings: Blur reduction: 10 Judder reduction: 0 LED Motion Plus: Off

This is one of 5 Samsung TV's I own. I already have one 55" Samsung Smart TV, so wasn't looking for another one with internet connection. This 65" model offers amazing visual clarity, good sound (even without adding separate sound bar) and easy set-up. Very happy with this purchase, and as always, Best Buy pricing is highly competitive. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting best possible large screen without wanting or needing internet access.

Purchased from BB on Black Friday. Is quite heavy to lift the box and requires at least two people. Upon starting up my tv for the first time, there was a grey oblong circle shape imprint. It cannot be seen when there is vibrant colors on the screen. However, when the screen is black (ie starting a blue ray or changing between sources) it is definitely noticeable. It is particularly noticeable during dark scenes (ie Dark Knight) on blu-ray movies. I wish there was more HDMI connections.

I own quite a few televisions - 3 of which are Samsungs. My other two big screens are Samsung LCD televisions. I would have rated both LCDs 4 out of 5. The picture on both of them was great with the exception of an issue with the smoothness of the 120 hertz. Sometimes the picture on them will have a slight skip/jump even after trying all of the motion options including judder control and blur controls. By the way, those controls are good enough to keep me coming back to Samsung every time as you are really able to customize the motion to your liking. While both of my 120 hz LCD tvs had issues with smoothness, this television does not. Samsung has figured it out. It may be their new 240 Trumotion option that is built into their televisions that addressed this problem. Whatever they did, it worked. That fix combined with the beautiful, big picture on this television is enough for me to rate it 5 out of 5. One thing I should mention is that when I first bought this tv it had some sort of weird shadowy, blooming area in the bottom 3rd of the screen that would appear from time to time. Best Buy came to my house and picked it up without any hassle and brought me another one that has been perfect. I will continue to buy from Best Buy as they are so easy to deal with and have recently offered some of the best pricing out there (I am an everyday online dealshopper, so I know) and have a great price matching policy. The only downside is that you have to pay tax versus some online places, but it's so worth it for piece of mind. I know this after having issues with two out of three big screen televisions. One of the ones I bought from an online retailer left me dealing with the manufacturer. I was without a tv for about a month. With Best Buy, they just bring you another one. I may sound like I work there, but I don't. I also don't do a lot of reviews, but this tv is great and so was Best Buy after I had an issue.

when my samsung 2006 dlp died and a repairman said it would be at least $400 to fix I decided it was time to get a new TV. After lots of study and research I had 2 or 3 in my price range so I went to town to see what I could find. Mainly I was after the biggest screen and best picture that I could get for less than$1700. I didn't have much luck finding anything. The last place I stopped was best buy and I didn't expect to find a good price there. I showed the TV guy my list and he took it to the manager and came back and said they would match the internet low price plus they would deliver and set up for free. So in a week I had a new samsung 65 eh 6000 for less than $1700. I dont have any complaints with this TV. After a little adjustment it has a gorgeous picture. I intend to mount it on the wall because the base is flimsy. This TV doesn't have extras like 3d or internet. I get the internet through my blueray player. works good.

My wife has been wanting to get a bigger TV in our family room for quite some time. No, really. We had a 46" Samsung in there from 2008 which we loved. We finally saw this one at the store near us, on sale, and discounted further for being a display model. We simply could not pass up the deal. In our 17'x21' family room, this TV is perfect. We have it on a long wall with the couch on the other long wall, and we absolutely love it. The only two things I noticed were once on a black screen there were some squared-off artifacts, and twice while panning (once in a video game) there seemed to be some image jumping on-screen. Besides those, we could not be happier with this TV. My wife randomly raves about it. I love watching Pittsburgh Penguins hockey on it. Seriously, it was her idea. I swear. You can ask her.

A friend of mine has this tv in the 60 version. I was impressed with the picture. I had 3 Panasonic plasma tv's before purchasing this model. After seeing my friends a few times and given the fact that I was looking to go bigger in my living room I decided to go and get one. I spent a week tweaking the picture myself. I thought I had it but I kept noticing when dark object moving quickly with a light background there was noticeable blurring or a halo around the image. I almost took the tv back as I thought maybe this was a characteristic of led tv's. Luckily I looked online for picture settings for my model number which solved all my picture complaints.
