Had read reviews of this TV which noted comparable image quality to the UN65JS8500 which we had seen as a display model and were intending to buy. When that unit was out of stock, we opted for this one, but I was really disappointed with the picture. There was noticable darkening around the edges that got better or worse depending on your viewing angle and the picture just did not seem sharp as expected from 4K or as we had seen on the other model. We exchanged it and ordered the JH8500 from BestBuy online. When we took it back to the store, they mentioned that lots of these were coming back.

Good tv. Has more judder than I expected. Not sure how to set everything to minimize this but still working on it. As far as ease of unpacking and setting it up with DTV, it was a piece of cake

So this is my 4th 4ktv. I started with the Sony xbr850b (great picture and color but really bad corner flashlighting). I returned for LG UF8500 (great 3d! but poor contrast and blacks, would do better in a well lit room. This set also had some vertical banding issues as well). Once again, I returned after a week for Samsung JU7500 (Loved this tv, but had bad panel uniformity and didn't care for the curve). Returned for the JU7100, the flat version of the JU7500 and I am finally happy. My panel has great uniformity and no clouding or flashlighting. Their are some bad reviews about this tv. I say give it a try! The picture on this TV is amazing right out the box. I also am a happy owner of the HU8550. In my opinion, I disagree with the people that say the HU8550 and JU7100 are identical, the JU7100 is a HUGE step up in picture quality. I cannot stress how good this beast looks with a little tinkering! I am still getting used to Tizen OS, starting to grow on me. Samsung should have kept previous version or included a full remote control.(FYI you need to do firmware update for smart remote and tv separately. I love the customer service by Best Buy. Each store I had to deal with was very helpful and understanding of situation.

I initially wanted to upgrade from a 60 inch LED 1080p to a 75 inch 1080p monitor. My lamp on my bedroom tv (projection w/ lamp) needed replacement (for the 3rd time) and since the screen shifted up enough to where I couldn't see the ticker tape score on my sports games, I decided to retire the tv and move my family room tv (un60eh6003 120hz samsung 1080p LED) to the bedroom...and bought THIS 4k model for the family room. That said, the differences between the picture of both LEDS are significant. I don't have anything that displays true 4k YET, but the pictures are vastly different. This tv puts out GREAT COLOR. The color contrasts are great and as long as the settings are set appropriately, the brightness and clarity are awesome. The beads of sweat from a tv character, the details of a tree bark or the wrinkles on a person - face, texture and subtle imperfections on the stitching or fabric on a man's sweater....the details are impressive. And these are not 4k videos! My older model is about 2 or 3 years older, and the refresh rate is 120hz less. Although it's picture is clean and impressive as well, there is a big enough difference between the two that warrants me addressing it. 1 other difference is my older model is a "dumb" model. It was sold for the model ONLY, only had a few source inputs and no audio outputs. It did have a USB input or 2, but that's it. This new model is built with an ethernet /wireless hookup with a built in browser and a few video/audio provider apps. It has adio fiber optic output ports, as well as source inputs and a remote that provides a remote cursor pointer and microphone for interactive functions. Since I just bought this, it's all I have to describe. One last thing to note. The price difference between the 75 inch and a 65 inch (for the 7100 model) is at least $2500. As much as I wanted a 75 inch upgrade, the price difference just appeared blatantly ridiculous and imo, unnecessarily marked up...just because they can. I chose the 65 inch because well, at this point, the features alone was enough to get me to "pull the trigger" on the item. Would have been nice for that exta size, but TOTALLY wasn't necessary for an additional 2500 buckaroos, that's more than 400 supersized McDonald's combo meals! I don't eat much Mc Ds but you get the picture.

    Simply Amazing TV!

PROS: Absolutely gorgeous image, upscaling of broadcast 1080i/p and 720p to 4k, price CONS: Getting the contrast setting just right takes a little work I originally wanted to purchase the SUHD version of this television, but (as silly as it sounds) I did not like the look of the silver frame. Strangely, I actually purchased a Sony due to the oft mentioned superior native up-scaling from 1080i to 4K; however, after reading about the light bleed and seeing it first hand at the Best Buy store, I exchanged it for the Samsung before I even left the store. I took it home and placed it right on the wall mount where my 55" Samsung plasma had stood minutes before. I LOVE my plasma, it just was not big enough for the location - it is perfect in our guest bedroom now. Once I conected the few wires I fired it up and my wife and I stood in silent awe as we seemingly watched our favorite programs for the first time ever. The picture and upscaling are absolutely fantastic. And that is on regular 1080i or 720p cable broadcasting. We purchased the NetFlix 4k upgrade as all NetFlix original series are filmed and streamed in native 4K. I can't explain what that is like - it just has to be seen. It is like being at the movie theater. This television is absolutely fantastic. I see is currently $1999 (just got my PriceMatch Refund!): you would be crazy not to pick it up at that price before it is sold out. Be sure to mount this TV (like any LCD/LED) at eye level as the wash-out at any large angles detracts from the image. The only thing that is a little tricky is the contrast. The contrast is SO dramatic that it needs a little tweaking, both by the normal contrast setting and by the Samsung contrast mode setting. But once you find your sweet spot, wow! I can't review the audio as I have a 7.1 system running through a separate reciever.

This TV is fantastic. Picture is undisputable. Remote could be better, and have more buttons. Not sure I like WII type setup to run TV!! Buying TV was great. The guy gave all the facts I requested before purchase. My real complaint with Best Buy is when I found the price dropped $200 2 weeks later. I called to get my guarantee @ 7pm on the 15th day. The guy was so forceful about getting the Geek extended warranty that I tip toed around declining it for fear he would not put in my $200 credit correctly, and I would be past my opportunity to claim it. REALLY BAD FEELING on the HARD SELL for GEEK SQUAD!!!!! You all may do what you want. TV Great, Best Buy purchase & rebate Great. Geek Squad Hard Sell to claim my price match SUCKED!!!

Very Happy With This UHD TV

I am extremely happy with my purchase of this 65" Samsung 3D SmartTV. The picture is fantastic right out of the box. I also like the built-in browser when wanting to go back and find episodes of my favorite shows I missed that can be streamed from the network websites. I have viewed some 3D content, only watching a few 3D clips but I am pleased with how it renders . I was disappointed that no 3D glasses were included with a set this expensive, but I had two pairs that came with my other 3D 46" Samsung model. Overall, very happy I purchased this model.

I had this tv for 5 months now and it is the best tv for the money. I had the Sony 850c but returned it because the quality was not worth the money. I have to say I love the extras like being able to use blue tooth headphones. The picture quality I have to say is amazing. The blacks won't be as good as an oled but even comparing this to the higher end sets like the js8500 it's hard to tell any difference. You can't go wrong with this TV.

While there is not too much 4k content available, the content I have watched is great. Like any Samsung product it takes a little bit to get used to the operating the system. I was a bit surprised by the separate box for the HDMI inputs etc. I like it though now that I have it that way. It is much easier to get to the inputs etc instead of them being buried in the middle of the tv which is hung above my fireplace.I actually used Velcro to attach it to the back on the side I needed to. I originally bought the LG 65uf8500 but I wasn't completely sold on the pic. Directv said that had a bug issue with it too so I could not get their 4k programming. Well I switched to the Samsung and guess what, the new 2015 Samsung models don't work with Directv yet either!! UGH! Very happy so far! I will admit I would rather have the LG remote and 2.0 though

I bought a panasonic TC-65AX800U in May but was very disappointed by its poor picture quality. BestBuy did a great job to pick up the panasonic from my house and dilivered the Samsung 65JU7100. So far very pleased with this JU7100. Great picture quality, easy to set up. 4K streaming looks amazing and so does 4K upscaling. In my opinion, this is the best 4K value for Samsung this year.

I bought this TV 7/11/2015 and it is now 2/22/2017 and this TV has a glitch on the screen where it flashes after it gets warm, about two hours. A quarter of the screen flashes and makes it very hard to watch. I am not sure if I will buy another Samsung product again.

I have had this TV for a little over a month now. And the picture is GREAT. Love it. It was easy to set up almost did it itself. I would have given it 5 stars but the stand is a joke. It leans to one side by almost two inches. You can straighten it out but always goes back to leaning. Other than that it is the best TV have ever had.

I purchased this on July 4th weekend, but waited until now to write a review so I could use it and know more about it. Before I go into any details, always remember that the source of what you are watching is going to vary greatly, which is obvious, but my first impressions were not that good due to the actual source I had first chosen. We have DirecTV, Netflix, local channels on DirecTV and a new matching Samsung DVD player. The local news claims to be HD, but does not compare to other quality sources. I honestly was not overly impressed the first couple of days but understand that with my job I was away from home and unable to watch it much. Since then, without question, viewing on Netflix is incredible. Yes, it is a 3D television but I have not attempted to watch 3D and am in no hurry to do so. But the quality on Netflix is almost 3D. As we are watching an old movie right now, 1989's "Driving Miss Daisy" and you can see the individual hairs on Morgan Freeman's head better than if he were sitting in the room, and the color of the sun shining through the bedroom window onto Jessica Tandy in the rocking chair is of as realistic color as you will ever see. I also recommend watching the first 30 minutes of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the new "Daredevil" series, and you will not believe the clarity of the 1973 Clint Eastwood film "High Plains Drifter," not on Netflix, but on some channel on DirecTV that I ran across while surfing. Not that I watched the movie, I stopped because I could not believe the clarity. Laugh if you want to, but wait until you see Andy Griffith in black and white on Netflix. Hear me now and believe me later. The only thing I changed in the Setup was an auto-dimming feature. We were watching Daredevil one night and I thought it was just a dark scene, which it was, but the entire rest of the episode was too dark for us. I turned the auto-dimming feature off a few days later, and we like it much better. The Smart Hub that all the cables connect to is also an outstanding asset of Samsung. The remote is also so simple, and I was surprised at the minimal number of buttons, opposed to another remote or two I have that has more buttons than you can imagine. I also purchased a Samsung 3D DVD player for $129, but have not tried it out yet. My job has kept me on the road a lot the past three weeks, but there will be plenty of time to go to RedBox this Fall, in-between watching Auburn football lay waste to opponents with the 240hz motion rate. I am not that guy that purchases a television every three or four years. My previous TV was a Sony flat-screen from 2006. Needless to say, this was a major upgrade. There are others that can write more eloquently about the technical aspects, but all I know is that it looks outstanding. That is all for now, as I must return to "Driving Miss Daisy."
