    Had to exchange...

Bought this model brand new and picture wasn't bad, but for some reason something felt off. Picture wasnt as good as I expected to be for a 4k even after I made minor calibrations. My 6 year old 55 in 1080p led flat screen picture looked just as good if not better. So I looked DIY calibrations and happened to find information about the so called "panel lottery" with this particular model. Apparently, depending on where the tv was manufacturered, there were a couple panels these tv are made with. Either the original samsung panel or a panel from a third-party. Most people had a panel version IH02 including mine, which isn't the original samsung panel and the reason why the picture didn't look as good as people expected from samsung. The original samsung panel version for this model is TH01 which is what bestbuy had on display in the store. My 55" has the original samsung panel which is the reason why the picture looked way better. So I ended up taking this tv back and exchanging it for the 65js8500 model(it was on sale and not much more than what I paid for the 7100 model) which, after some research, all are manufactured with original samsung panels. what a difference! I compared the display model and the model I purchased before I left the store to make sure I was getting what I paid for. Picture was way better and brighter and now im very satisfied with this purchase. I know the 8500 series is a more premium tv by samsung, but it was a dramatic difference from the 7100 model i had. Im sure if my 7100 series had the original panel by samsung it still be sitting in my living room. Im not bashing best buy ,just wanted to make buyers aware.

I specifically wanted a 65" TV for the size room it was going in and I tried 6 other TVs before trying out this one all within the $2000 price range. This is by far the best picture that this amount of money will get you I am extremely particular and tried out the Sony,Vizio and LG and was disappointed with all of them. I guarantee you will love this TV as much as I do.

Great TV with very good up scaling and i had 0 firmware problems everything works no problem including NETFLIX and AMAZON .The remote would be fantastic if Samsung would have done just a wee bit more research like the picture mode being vital and a mute button .Possibly some direct buttons but it works great for the most part . At least the TV doesn't have the ugly silver bezel like the JS9500 the sole reason i would not make the purchase and for others as well , a shame .

I love this TV, hats off to Samsung, I love it so much I am thinking of buying another one for the bedroom. I would like to mention how others leave negative reviews because the color is off, or the box was damaged, how is the fault of the TV, so come on folks, I will give this set 5 stars all day long, love it.

By far the best TV I've ever owned. The picture is astounding, the colors are breathtaking, and the overall viewing experience is unforgettable. I've found myself re-watching a lot of my old movies and playing a lot of my PC/PS4 games all over again, just because they look like I've never seen them before (on this TV). I really like the HDMI hub that the TV uses; it makes it so much easier to connect all my devices and not have to squeeze behind a TV that's wall mounted with little clearance. The hub is very convenient! I also like that I can watch video files etc off my flash drive; they plug right into the USB hub (2 ports). The Samsung Smart View app is also really cool; makes it so much easier to view files from your smartphone. Lastly, I've been really enjoying Netflix and YouTube on the TV. YouTube connects via wifi to your phone, which is common these days, but the TV app works and looks really good! Overall, I'm really satisfied with my purchase. I'd like to get another for the living room if possible.

Purchased this TV right after Christmas while on sale. I looked at a lot of reviews and seems like this is one of the best TVs for 2015-2016. I've streamed some 4K movies from Directv and Amazon and you can tell a difference! As others have mentioned the speakers are not great so I recommend a Sumsung soundbar.

I can't believe how awesome this TV is and that it's in my living room. The picture quality is unreal and the colors really pop. It was an easy setup and makes everything I'm watching look better.

The TV is great and performs as advertised. It was easy to assemble and set up, but I was most impressed with the customer service at the Reno store. Thomas was extremely helpful with our purchase. With so many purchasing options available to us, we're very happy that we chose Best Buy.

We love the TV. Great pic, setup was a breeze, and sound is good although we don't use it. The Soap Opera movie affect seemed a little weird to us but it was easy to turn off. I considered buying an OLED but couldn't justify the additional cost, And now I'm glad I didn't.

I purchased this 4K UHD TV back in January and I could not be any happier. The picture on this is just flat out incredible. The colors are bright, the lighting is just perfect and the apps that comes with the TV is a definite plus. My only gripe about this is that the TV did not come with a power adapter, I guess they forgot to pack one in. All in all this TV is a 5 star TV and this will make me happy for a very long time. Kudos to Samsung for making a great 4K TV.

    Not the one for me.

I really wanted to like this one. For starters it claiming to be 'silver' is beyond deceptive . Is there silver detailing? Yes but the rim of the very front is a dark gun metal near black color. When you are in the store you are swarmed with the SUHD line that is rimmed in a bright metallic nickel, gorgeous! Yet those TV'S are labeled as 'black' online. What is this about Best Buy?! Next the stand. As meticulous and careful as I am, I made sure the stand was screwed together in the utmost delicacy and ensured every screw locked in tight, not tight enough to crack the plastic. I set it up and the thing is lopsided, forums online say if you screw the screws tight this happens? 3 thousand dollar TV, you bet i'm screwing tight! Eventually this somehow leveled out but not perfectly leveled I pushed down on the right side to lower it little by little which felt like I was gonna crack something. The remote I kinda love, love how it feels in the hand, the curves of the bottom the cold metal plating top, BUT when you are navigating in the dark something about the up down side by side and middle button where I trail off and keep hitting the play button under the bottom arrow, buttons are TOO close together, a blind person would be confused navigating this. OK so the screen, the picture. I was excited to scour through the menu and find those delightful 4K demo movies displayed in the store. Without ANY 4K content it would be fabulous to just play those movies to anticipate whats coming. Test the 4K quality at home; WELL. NOTHING. I couldn't find any of those beautiful field, city, man in the boat, gorgeous imagery that should be included in the TV. Especially in this no 4K content period. Searched the net how to turn on what may be called demo mode but every is asking how to shut it off on their TV's are you kidding me?! Give me that please. Could not find no demo store mode for the life of me... To add insult to injury, wait for it. OCD, finicky, high maintenance needs aside; The TV keeps AUTOMATICALLY shutting off! The LAST thing you want your TV to do is decide when you are done watching it. Unbelievable! Man i'm talking like every 30 minutes, just 'clicks' off. Rest in peace the days a tube TV would stay on all night with no hiccups. No, the auto timer was not on, nothing was on, google this issue its pretty evident with other users. This is my fault but at the same time not really, while laying TV on its face to put on stand I apparently did not correctly estimate how thick the end frame was and if anything my finger tips must have lightly pressed into the front screen at the very tippy top, which still had that spongy cover sheet over it and tape, I turn it on and 3 days later STILL are these evident bluish marks in the TV. I couldn't believe it!!! How can a 3G huge TV be T H A T fragile, my laptop is on its last legs and no press marks are seen in the screen when you observe it from the sides. You look at this TV from the side and you can see them on the top, like i pressed it aggressively hard. Its 2015 how is there not a way to fix or prevent this quirk. Shouldn't it be more durable like a laptop screen not like you can bend it. WHY WHY WHY. This is my third day with the TV and this model is absolutely not for me. :( I'm saving up and getting the SUHD model in actual SILVER hopefully the extra money along with better features but I feel i'm still going to encounter an overly fragile screen, no 4K demos, cheap stand design, crammed remote buttons, and TV that decides when to shut off... Beware of these quirks you guys... And go for the free delivery, let the pros set this up, since a feather can damage the screen. UGH.

I purchased the 65"UHDTV 7100 yesterday and have nothing but issues with the Smart Hub and the remote. It took 4 hours of resetting the tv multiple times just to get Netflix to finally load and Amazon prime and PlayStation still have not loaded. The smart hub still says "Smart Hub being updated please wait while your apps are being prepared. I can't download my applications because of this. Multiple sources online said to try manually loading the software. It took an hour to download the 1.7g file. I also downloaded the tv software update and tried to load it through USB but the tv says there are no updates available at this time. The software in the TV was the same as the software I downloaded. The remote control also did not work only Power worked. I scanned multiple websites trying to find the issue and found one not on Samsungs website that stated try paring the remote. There were no instructions on Samungs website or in te manual on how to do this. There's a little tag etched inside the remote that says pairing with the play pause symbol and a little dot below it that looks like a reset button. That is, no instructions. It's not a reset button so don't attempt to push it.. What you have to do is hold play pause and arrow down button and aim it at the TV for three seconds and it will pair the remote. It took two hours for me to findout how to do that. Overall a terrible experience with this TV. I have three of their TVs in my home and this is the first Samsung Smart TV I purchased and will be the last. Customer service was terrible they had some idea what was going on only to state their may be an issue with that TV and the Smarthub. And they are working on it. It would've been nice if they posted in a war on the website stating this instead I spent the entire night and half the morning trying to get this TV to work. If you request customer service and select I want customer service soon they will not call you back. The picture it looks great everything else about it has been a terrible experience.

    Not Samsung Worthy

Long time Samsung customer - TV worked for 2 weeks then failed to turn on. Had to wait a week for Samsung to service who replaced main board w/out much trouble shooting. TV did start and ran through its test cycle, the serviceman left before I was finished reconnecting to the cable box and other components (samsung blueray). When I attempted to turn on to watch TV it was dead again, same symptoms as before. It has now been 1.5 weeks w/out TV and now the Geek Squad are going to repeat this dance, hopefully with a better outcome. I must say that this is the most disappointing purchase I have made in a very long time and the worst experience Ive ever had with a Samsung product. I was happy to pay extra for a quality product but now regret buying Samsung. Don't bother with the Samsung chat/phone support unless you seriously don't know how to plug your device into a wall outlet as that seems to be the extent of their product knowledge. Waiting for a week was also not expected, the guy was 1/2 hour late for a 4 hour window, and didn't stick around to insure it was actually repaired.

    4K Ultra TV w/ 3D. Great Picture

    - Has a faster refresh rate with 2160P than base models. Great when watching sports. - Separate Mini-HDMI hub included. Only downside is the TV itself does not have HDMI ports & comes with a relatively short proprietary TV to Hub connector cable, which makes it difficult to use for concealed installation. If your equipment is not close by then this is an issue.

    Better Than the Sony X900c

I bought the Samsung UN65JU7100 after returning a Sony X900c. This Samsung hands down beats the Sony in terms of picture quality. Is it perfect? No. The picture still can't match my old Pioneer plasma, but it's pretty good for the money. The blacks are neither uniform nor dark enough on very dark scenes or solid screens, but for the most part it's not that noticeable when you're watching a movie. Soap opera effect is somewhat noticeable even with Recommended calibration settings found online, but again, not a deal breaker for me. Overall, this is a nice television which will work just fine until the day OLED TVs drop in price *sigh*!

    Horrid Samsung Experience

My mother in law purchased a Samsung 4K 3D 7100 series Samsung tv's from Best Buy that resulted in not one but two shattered screens out of the box. After a month and a half of searching for a new tv, my mother in law decided to buy a new 65" inch Samsung 4K 7100 series. I have a 4 year old Samsung 55" and a 3 year old 40" tv that I absolutely love and would consistently talk up the Samsung brand to her during her search for a new tv. She decided to go with the Samsung 65" 7100 4K 3D smart tv because she really loved the in store display and because she had confidence in the brand based on my experiences with Samsung. She purchased the tv and called me over to her house to help set up the tv (as she is not to tech savvy). Upon removing the box and the Styrofoam padding from the corners of the tv, we notice a spiderwebbed defect stemming from the top left corner of the screen. After plugging the power cord in and turning the tv on, it displayed like a shattered phone screen. No big deal she purchased the Magnolia warranty so we call the rep at Best Buy, he said to bring it in and they will swap it out. We package the broken Samsung up and headed back to Best Buy to exchange tv's. It took us roughly 45 minutes to exchange the tv, the magnolia reps took the newer tv out of the box to check the screen of visible defects before we left (they did not plug it in and turn it on). We got back to the house carefully unloaded the new Samsung 7100 4K TV. I set up the tv stand, plugged the tv into the power strip, turned it on and again a another shattered screen. At this point the mother in law is fuming stating "we should have never bought a new tv". Again she calls the Magnolia reps at Best Buy and swiftly informs them she is fed up, wants them to come pick the tv up and give her money back. The rep is very apologetic and informs her that they will swap it out with a Sony 4K 3D which was $100 more and would throw in a couple of 3D glasses for the inconvenience. Which they did and she is now satisfied but mentioned to the rep that she really wanted the Samsung but no longer had the capacity to tolerate her experience with the product. Without a doubt Samsung lost a customer (in my mother in law) as the Samsung experience was horrid and has me, a fan of the Samsung products doubting the current state of the Samsung product
