It's like a movie theater at home with the size and the perfect picture that just explodes your viewing experience!!! I did have a bad 1st set with flashlight issues but got it exchanged with a perfect 1 that does not have that issue!! The Best buy Warranty is a must for any new tv, I've had more than my share of all brand tv's and have had issues with alot, so don't ever believe just because u have spent thousands of dollars on a set that there can't be issues, because I'm here to tell u they all can and do! Buy the Geek Squad Warranty!!!! I love this Samsung 65'Js8500!!!!

Absolutely amazing color, definition and clarity. Sound could be better, so I added a Samsung sound bar. That improved sound quality somewhat.

Got this TV a week before the Superbowl, so had time to get familiar with the Smart remote and all the features this set has. We had company over for the big game, and everyone was impressed with the quality of the video. The 65" screen is perfect for our room, and I set it up to run the audio through the stereo, so we get excellent 7 channel sound, including the 15" subwoofer. Movies and concert dvds look great, too. We will be enjoying this setup for years to come.

Really hard to beat Samsung when it comes to great picture quality! Only Sony comes close and some Vizio's! I bought this tv for 4K and the few things I've been able to watch were spectacular! It's still early for 4K content but it's coming and it looks great! Sound quality seems better too! This tv does take some time to calibrate properly for the best picture! The other thing I can tell you is that it's bright! No problem in a brightly lite room! The remote takes some time to get used to but the point at screen with cursor is a nice feature! All in all I would give this tv a 4.8 score!

Great tv. I bought this on the second best sale price. I bought it for $2199 plus tax. Also I bought this one because I don't think Samsung will continue to add 3D to their future models. Their 3D apps are limited but it looks cool with PS3 and ps4 games. This tv has a separate box for use and extra hdmi hook ups. This might make it difficult for you to hang the tv on a wall mount. Mine is on a tv stand. 4K is also limited. You can watch YouTube on the smart hub, they have a 4K section. Also Amazon prime has a few 4K options that are free with subscription. Netflix has 4K options but you have to pay extra. I have this on tv in a small one bedroom, I sit about 7 ft away, the recommended distance is about 9 or 10. I bought the 65" because I know I will eventually move and will fit better in a bigger place. Overall great buy. Wish there was more 4K and 3D content out there to compliment the tv's features.

I was skeptical of purchasing a 4K TV because there isn't a huge market on it right now. I happened to buy this sweet thing at a SUPER price! Amazing picture very vibrant colors and it simply looks amazing! Especially when mounted on the wall.

Nice 4k HDR LED TV but it started fading on the left and right edges a few years after purchasing. The set was not left on all the time either, just to watch some TV occasionally at night. The 4k, HDR, and 3D capability are good. The other thing is the software is a little glitchy. For example, when trying to display the INFO on screen it doesn't always work. When you spend $2500 on a TV you hope for more longevity. Of course, the edge fading started happening after the extended Best Buy warranty ended.

Through the first year of owning this TV the quality, picture, etc. was great. Where this TV falls short is how just over a year it developed substantial light bleed in the left of the display. I have 3 other Samsung TVs in the house, all of which have outlasted this TV. Very unfortunate.

This is a 4K "Smart" TV. The picture was very good to excellent. Colors are very bright and the images are extremely sharp. The picture uses a 120Mgz refresh rate claimed as 240Mgz which works well with Auto Motion Plus enabled. I found the "Clear" setting to work best for fast movement. There are numerous adjustments available for "movie", "natural", "standard", and "dynamic" modes so good picture in most lighting is available. As has been stated in a number of reviews these Samsungs have a very bright screen capability. There is also a game mode and sports mode. The sports mode requires some significant adjustments to get a realistic picture, and doesn't seem to address motion any better than using "Clear" on one of the other setting modes. Overall very satisfied with the picture quality in either 1080p or 4K. 1080p looks much better with the 4k resolution due to the upscaling feature of the TV. So for quality of picture and resolution I would rate the TV as Excellent. The 4K is worth the upgrade from 1080 even if there isn't much content currently available due to the upscaling features. If you are buying the TV for internet connections and app viewing, I think the platform falls short. The Apps are far fewer than what is available from ROKU, and the WIFI connection is not always very good. Several times the TV would not connect to the Router or the internet. I have another Samsung, a ROKU and several WIFI enabled Blue ray players all connected with a Net Gear router and have no problems with the other units. So, if you are buying the TV for connectivity I would only rate it as average to fair. The TV does provide 4 HDMI ports and three USB ports most of which are located on the mini connect which is a unit that is connected to the TV but not a direct part of the back panel. It actually works well from the perspective of ease of plugging in cables and USB drives. It would seem to be an issue if you were trying to mount the TV on the wall. The only thing that brings this TV rating down is the sometimes bugginess of the WIFI and internet. For Picture and resolution the TV is excellent. Note, this is not a curved screen. My other Samsung is also a [smaller] 4k, JS6500, and the curved screen does appear to provide a wider viewing angle before color degradation, compared to the JS8500 flat screen. The JS 9000 is I believe the same TV with a curved screen, but is appreciably more expensive. So If viewing from a wide angle, this TV may show a washout of color more quickly than other models as the view moves to the side of the TV.

This was a replacement for my 10 yr old 46" Samsung LED TV. Did a lot of research, and decision was between the 7100 and 8500. As the 8500 was the better TV and came on sale at the same price as the 7100, I bought the 8500. I used the CNET calibration/setup values and the picture is great. Initial delivery and setup was via Best Buy, and they know exactly how to unpack and setup the TV. They ensure everything is working, and don't leave unless you are happy. The remote is different from any I have ever used, but once I figured it out, it is great and easy to use. I have a Roku and BluRay hooked up to the TV via my Home Theater, and the Wii directly to the TV. All work seamlessly. #D works, but with limited content availability, doubt if I will use much. With the settings recommended by CNET, I have no action delay and no soap opera effects. Sports look great. The sound from the TV is very good, and I use the TV for local news, etc., to save having to power up by receiver. No blooming and the blacks are true. So far, I have no complaints. The only issue I have, is that the whites are so white, that at night, they can make you squint when a commercial with all whites comes on. I do not see this as a negative. Definitely recommend this TV.

I purchased this TV about 2 weeks ago and I can't say enough good things about it. The picture is so clear that it makes you wonder how you lived with 1080p beforehand. But I will warn you it takes some time of working through all of its features before you get this picture. Out of the box it looks good but give yourself an hour or so and you will not believe the difference. If you have a Xbox One or PS4 you will see a drastic difference as well. I play Destiny on Xbox One and it looks amazing. One thing you will have to do with FPS or action games is switch over to game mode every time. Without this switch you will notice a substantial lag that will make for a not so pleasant gaming experience. Once you switch over to game mode though it looks amazing. The vivid picture does change a little bit but im sure it is to account for the refresh speeds. I did an awful lot of research before buying a TV in this price range and through all my reading I saw that Hight Dynamic Range (HDR) was extremely important to future proof your investment and this TV has it. The other model I looked very closely at was the new Sony model in the same 55 inch set. Both had amazing picture but the HDR coupled with the slightly better picture in my opinion I chose this model. I know many people say there isn't much 4K content out right now and that is fairly true. But I have watched a fair number or blu rays the past two weeks and they look stunning. I turned on the UHD upscale and it creates a far better picture than my prior 50 inch LED 1080p TV. One that was particularly amazing was Lucy. The colors are so vibrant its hard to look away.

Impressive picture, especially vs Sony 850C

After spending days of researching TVs I settled on the Sony XBR65X850C as I have been a long time Sony owner, it was a well recommended TV by Best Buy staff, was in my budget range of $2500-$3000, and was supposed to have 0 judder. Well after 10 days I sent it back as the color washout on the Sony was terrible from side viewing angles. I'd even say it was to the point of being unwatchable, especially for the price. Straight on the picture was nice, but there are only so many seats in the house that are straight in front of the tv. After getting just 20 degrees off center you can start to notice the change in color. Now to be fair this is a known problem with all new flat screen tvs, but some are worse than others and the Sony was terrible. Why should I be disappointed with my new tv after investing so much time and money on it and not getting the picture I expected? I shouldn't, and that is why it went back. Best Buy staff said I was the first person to complain about the Sony and that a bunch of them personally had one and enjoyed it. Sure I was. Silly Best Buy staff and silly me for allowing them to persuade me to go with the Sony. Another thing, all the sample clips on the tvs in the store are a garbage way to make a decision. Try to see if the Best Buy staff can display a live feed through the tv. The picture on the live feed is a much better way to measure of the tvs typical performance than some optimized sample clip that can't be achieved in most viewing situations. Yes I understand this introduces other variables like signal quality, but if all the tvs are using the same signal in the store it should be a fair comparison. Best Buy could not do this for me before I bought the Sony so I had to wait until I got it home to test it. Ultimately if they just had a live feed in the store I could have evaluated the tv better from the start and maybe could have avoided the whole exchange process. I checked out the reviews on RTINGS.com as well and the Sony did not score all that well, really a middling review. So I started looking at the Samsung 65JS8500 as it had great reviews and was HDR ready. I read some good banter on the avs forums going back and forth on the Sony 850C vs the Samsung JS8500 which piqued my interest in the Samsung even more. Best Buy did something called an uninstall/ re--install where I paid the difference for the Samsung tv and the protection plan and the Geek Squad came to my house again, took the old Sony tv and hung the new one on the wall. Props to Best Buy on this for making the exchange seamless. The Samsung JS8500 will 'wow' you right away. The colors pop, really pop and the side viewing is much better/ less distorted than the Sony. The picture is just much crisper overall and for $500 more for the tv and $200 more for the plan, it was a no brainer. I'm very happy with the Samsung JS8500, football is amazing, movies and black levels are awesome. If you are in the market for a new TV, do yourself a favor and check out the Samsung JS8500, you won't be disappointed.
