I purchased this TV on the recommendation of a store associate. I just was not impressed. At all. Very disappointing for a Samsung. If you’re in a room with poor lighting, then maybe it’s a good tv. I just could never get the tv calibrated or the color to look right. Tried many different ways, just was never impressed. Put it this way, we have a TCL 4 Series in a bedroom that looked as good, actually better than the RU9000. I returned the Samsung and got the Sony XBR900H. The Sony is 10x better of a TV.

It's been two years since we purchased this tv and now there is a vertical line in the middle of the screen that doesn't go away. :-(

The picture was not worth the price. This screen maybe has a $400 picture. Movies were ok, but standard tv (hd) was really bad. Everything always seemed washed out and out of focus. Tried many settings. Didn’t help.

Impossible Remote

My 1 star rating applies only to the remote that came with the Samsung TV. It was impossible to remove the back cover on the remote to install the batteries following the user manual instructions. I called Samsung customer service and they seemed to be aware of the problem. They suggested going on Utube for a solution. The only Utube solution that worked was using a butter knife to pry open the back of the remote. I made another call to Samsung and they are sending me a replacement remote.
