The bar is quite large and cumbersome, but so long as you have the space it's fine. The details from the center channel are particularly impressive. Music also plays well. If you can find this in stock, even if refurbished, get it.

I’m no audio expert but after getting it all setup, I went right to the battle scene in Endgame and was blown away by the detail in the sound. It felt like you were there. This was installed in a room with vaulted cowlings which I’m not sure if that effects the upward firing speakers, but the sound is still amazing.

Controlling Subwoofer and surround speakers are limited. Subwoofer sound is not as good as my cheaper soundbar. The surround speakers are larger and worthless as controls for them is so limited and only on occasions do you even get anything out of them. For the price this system isn't worth what you pay as there are cheaper systems on the market that offer just as good or more. I have been on the help line several times trying to resolve surround and subwoofer issues.

Thank you for purchasing the HW-Q90R Samsung Harman Kardon Soundbar with Dolby Atmos and true 7.1.4Ch sound from 17 speakers, including 4 that fire upward and 2 that fire from the side. The HW-Q90R includes wireless Rear Loudspeakers and an 8" Wireless Subwoofer.
I am sorry that you are not happy with audio performance.
Please know that by design, the surround rear speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.
However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:
1) Make sure that the source (i.e., TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not capable of surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
2) If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote. Choices are STANDARD, SURROUND, GAME PRO, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.
3) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.
4) Press the Sound Control button on the remote (looks like a gear) to adjust TREBLE, BASS, SYNC, CENTER LEVEL, SIDE LEVEL, FRONT TOP LEVEL, REAR LEVEL, REAR TOP LEVEL, and VIRTUAL ON/OFF.
5) Press and hold the (Sound Control) button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.

Also had trouble syncing the soundbar and tv voice and sound. Once I got the bugs out, system works great. Wish the remote had more controls and you should be able to access the soundbar menus on the tv!
