Have samsung n650 soundbar but this sound bar did not do Dolby atmos. Been checking out some other brands but keep coming back to this model. Easy to setup and it came with back speakers. The sound is very good, run the sample of the Dolby atmos and you can hear every sound all around. Perfect for my house. Con: expensive and wish back speakers are lounder when watching normal TV

First, the most important thing to note is that this sound bar sounds amazingly good. But not for every kind of audio. If you primarily watch music, especially loud music like rock, metal, etc, then this is not the audio solution for you. Large speakers with 8 inch woofers are what you want for that. This sound bar was clearly designed and optimized for dialogue based watching. It absolutely knocks it out of the park for movies and TV shows. Audio is super clear, you never miss a word. Background music appears to float around you. Surround is amazing. This is a massive upgrade from my NAD/Klipsch based 5.1 system I used on this system before relative to movie watching. But for concerts and music videos, it's a step backward. Rock and metal are muddy and the punch is completely gone. Even jazz and pop dont sound very good...kind of tinny and full of mids with no clear punch. But I'm ok with this...I mainly watch Movies and TV on this system anyway.

Very easy to setup and it sounds amazing. The only negative so far is it only has 2 HDMI ports. It’s expensive, but worth it to have such great sound and truly wireless rear speakers.

Was looking at Surround Systems that would fit my small-medium sized living room. Ended up at theses after months of research. Glad i went with theses due to the simplicity of hooking it up and compatibility with my existing samsung tv. only complaint is the small number of HDMI in the unit. had to take down one of the gaming systems in order to use my tv set top box and ps4 due to the unit only having 2 HDMI ports to plug into. Sound out of this however is amazing

I’ve always been an audiophile. Was a DJ/Musician/Lover of Music. As I grew up I had to go without for a long time.. adulthood.. so couldn’t keeping up with tech for a long time. Point is.. this was my first new audio purchase in a decade. I gave it four stars because I can’t can’t turn it up due to being considerate of those that live above/below me. But if I could... 5 stars. I’ve had Harman Kardon for a long time. Even have 20 year old speakers that still beat most out today. This system does not disappoint. I would however will share this info I wish I would have known prior to blindly purchasing during lockdown. It is a large sound bar. I thought it’d be something comparable to what a friend had.. hell no. And If you have an LG OLED CX you’ll need to get a tv riser to lift it 3-5in. And lose the sound scoop. Hope this helps at least 1 person. :)

It was very easy to set up. I am especially liking not having wires all over the floor. I live Arizona and I had been trying to locate this sound bar to no success. I wanted to actually get a demonstration and to listen to it. I was at Disneyland for my birthday when I went on line and found it at the BEST BUY store in Cerritos. Your salesperson took me in a room where this sound bar was set up. It did not take me very long to be sold on it. THANK YOU very much!!

Very rich and clean sound. We haven’t had a chance to watch (or listen to) any Dolby Atmos content as yet, but overall are very satisfied with the Soundbar. We were contemplating buying this unit when it was priced at $1699 but the price dropped to $999 and we literally ran to the store immediately to buy it! Not sure why the price was reduced so much (maybe a newer model is in the works?), but a great bargain at $999. Highly recommended.

dont get me wrong, this thing sounds pretty good, but you can certainly get way better sounding equipment from a component system, for not much more money. This would probably work great in smaller rooms, but could definitely be a little cheaper

Has some issues with the Bluetooth, looses connection ever so often and subwoofer has a very annoying thunderous low distortion when watching t.v. Through Bluetooth. System works good directly wired to a Samsung 4K hdr video player with music cds but almost always has that annoying low distortion with blue ray or 4K movies. Rear speakers sound very low so you have to adjust the volume to the center sound bar to be lower and the rear all the all the way up. Overall system is ok but not happy with it because of the price. I could of got something better that’s too bad because I love Samsung harmankardon and jbl! Big fan! But not really in this case unfortunately.

This is an amazing sound bar. While the price is pretty high, it is worth it given the quality of sound that it produces. In order to get the best quality sound, it is important that the system is optimally located, particularly the subwoofer. Overall, I would highly recommend this unit.

I bought this Samsung 7.1.4 Soundbar to go with my 75” Q80R tv . The Soundbar sounds great but the rear speakers are weak I’ve tried adjusting them but still very little sound from them . Might have to take it back before my elite plus time is up.

      RMC54:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar System.

You can adjust the volume of each of the speakers in the HW-Q90R Sound System by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button on the remote. Then select CENTER LEVEL, SIDE LEVEL or FRONT TOP LEVEL in Sound Settings, to adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

You can control the Surround Speakers by pressing the Sound Control button on the remote (looks like a gear) and then selecting REAR LEVEL or REAR TOP LEVEL. Use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

Love the new sound bar, haven't even installed rear speakers ( there are on end tables) but the sound is all I hoped for. Of course not all stations are keyed into this sound, but some stations, movies and Netflix are terrific. Son in law installed the system by researching on line. It took a couple of hours, but saved installation costs. Happy to be able to use just the Dish remote. We do have the Samsung Q TV so maybe that is why is was so easy. We paid more than average, but I wanted top of the line sound and got it.

Bought the Samsung 82” q60 television. Speakers were at 60 and was somewhat muted. Bought this sound bar and at level 30 the floor is vibrating. I’m going through my movie collection to find movies to test the sound bar. The sound bar is awesome with 7.1.2 surround and Dolby atmos surround sound, combined with the television it is as close to a theater without leaving home. The system was too easy to setup. No wires all you do is plug the speakers and woofer in and the sound bar does all the work. If you’ve got the money, definitely buy it.

purchased this as I had a receiver plus 5 speaker surround system that was awesome...but due to a relocation and subsequent move to a smaller apartment it was not reasonable any longer. purchased this soundbar for a smaller space but the sound is absolutely incredible and could easily fill a full size living room. rear speakers and subwoofer are wireless but all do need to be plugged in. Will sync automatically with Samsung products and Dolby Atmos is flawless. def worth the money compared to full surround sound system

This might be my best purchase of the year. Built new house and old Samsung surround 3.1 just seemed to struggle. Caught this on the biggest sale and took a leap after checking reviews online. My livingroom now sounds like the theater during this pandemic. Amazing sound, adaptive sound feature and Dolby + are the complete package. Voices is totally clear, 3D sound effect is crazy all around you and everything is clear, not loud. So glad I got the last one in the store!

Pros: Great sound quality, DolbyAtmos, eARC (after July 2020 firmware update), DD+, DTS, Surprisingly powerful sub, WIRELESS sub and rear. Cons: Wireless subwoofer unpairs itself, distorts (rf interference), and too loud at night (even on the lowest level of -12db). Not compatible with Q90R QLED because the TV doesn't support eARC, which creates a sync issue where the sound doesnt' sync with the video. No Aux. SmartThings App could be a lot better. I'm somewhat satisfied. Great sound above 15 except when the subwoofer either loses connectivity, distorts (it sounds like rf interference), or the action films get too boomy at night. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE BASS and I want to feel every explosion, punch, bass line, etc. but, I live in a condo and I'm mindful of my neighbors. A Night Mode would be GREAT and an on off for the sub would be even better (but it tends to unpair once evey couple of weeks or so). Last but not least, I purchased the 65" Q90R QLED tv to go with this soundbar. Because the TV does not support eARC yet, I recommend one that does (LG OLED). My conclusion, I would not recommend unless the disconnects are fixed in a firmware udpate.
