This dryer has been problematic. Had to replace the heating element. $100+ part. because they want to sell you the element in the housing and high limit switch etc.. luckily found an appliance parts store that let me buy just the element. Tested with multi meter. Old one definitely bad new one good. ever since replacing it, the dryer kicks the breaker in the house. Electrician tested and the circuit is good... dryer is causing it to trip. now making a vibrating noise. The extra features never work like they should. Should have gotten more than 4 years out of this. Last dryer (Maytag) lasted me 15 years. replaced shoes on it and tension pulley and worked like a dream. Only replaced it because the motor finally went.

DO NOT BUY. DRUM CRACKS AFTER 1 YEAR

You would think this would be a quality unit. At first everything was great. 13 months into ownership and the stainless steel drum has a huge crack in it. Come to find out this is a very common issue on Samsung dryers. Google it. Samsung is refusing to cover since I'm just outside my warranty period. My last bare bones GE dryer lasted 7 years with out an issue. DO NOT BUY!!

Works good. Holds a lot and drys great. There's a light inside which i like and it comes with the shelf thing to dry shoes or whatever. Only complaint is it keeps telling me the vent is clogged. Checked it 3 times nothing in the whole line. Not sure what to do.

    Long term Review

I purchased this about a year ago and the dryer is still going strong. Before purchasing the matching set, I found myself doing laundry throughout the week just to take advantage of off days. The combined capacity of the matching washer and dryer has cut 6-8 loads down to 2-3. Watching the entire hamper disappear into one load is something to write home about

Dryer works fine; however, Best Buy did not provide parts (specifically the parts needed to attach to a water source) that are included, per the manual. Not a huge deal, but frustrating.

Arrived from the factory with a cracked drum

Brand new dryer arrived with a cracked drum. Makes a loud thump-thump sound on every rotation. Very disappointed with Samsung quality control. Googled this and found out cracked drums are a common problem with Samsung dryers. I guess I'm glad this happened at the outset (within the return period) than a few months down the road. I am exchanging it for a different brand of dryer, but here are my observations from my few days with this dryer (about 10 loads so far): 1. Timed dry defaults to start out at 1:00. So if you want to dry something for just a few minutes, be prepared to press the arrow down button for a long time. 2. You can't select a heat level when using a Sensor Dry cycle. You have to use one of their predetermined cycles and, for some reason, there is no cycle which allows you to use low heat with Sensor Dry. This is one of my pet peeves, though common to most dryers out there. 3. No reset button, so if you accidentally hit the wrong button, you have to turn the dryer off and back on again. 4. I'm not too impressed with drying performance. On my first load, I mixed a heavy blanket with some lighter ones and though the lighter blankets came out dry, the heavy blanket was still quite damp. I dried some sheets yesterday and it took an extremely long time (2 hours) for them to dry and they kept getting twisted and knotted up in the dryer. Consumer Reports found that the sensors on the companion model (the DV52J5700, which I believe is substantially the same dryer) did not work properly and did not shut off within 40 minutes of the load being dry. 5. Unless you use high heat, this is one slow dryer. Eco normal mode took 1.5 hours to dry a regular-sized load of toddler clothes. 6. Did I mention that the dryer arrived with a cracked drum? Based on this experience, it's safe to say that I'm not a fan of Samsung laundry equipment.

You can't select a heat level when using a Sensor Dry cycle. You have to use the predetermined heat settings and there is no cycle which allows you to use low heat or medium-low heat with Sensor Dry. The only way to use those two heat settings is with Time Dry. There are seven different Sensor Dry cycles and five heat levels, so it seems very strange there is not at least one Sensor Dry cycle for each of the heat settings.

    DO NOT BUY!

I bought a washer and dryer set from Best Buy. You can read my 1 star review on the washer as well. Problem with reviews is most people write them within the first month of ownership. My review is owning the unit for 13 months now. This dryer is complete garbage. I've had the circuit board replaced, thermostat, heater, etc replaced - some more than once. The dryer will not dry properly. It will shut down after 20 minutes with an He error (heating element). GeekSquad sent out a guy to look at this unit over 7 times. We even went outside to verify the exhaust wasn't clogged each time. So basically after it shuts off I have to wait 15-20 minutes, turn it back on again, and let it dry until it fails again. NOT FUN! I'm hoping GeekSquad FINALLY calls it a lemon and replaces this unit. Luckily I bought their 5 year plan. DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT OR THE SAMSUNG MATCHING WASHER MACHINE.

    Lot of Cycles, Poor Design

It appears wrinkle away does not work the way I thought it should. Manual says 1-4 articles, which come out wet. Service says to use at least 10, even though you only want to remove the wrinkles from one article. Now saw a post from 6 years ago with the same problem. Also limited or no options when choosing a cycle. My old Whirlpool wrinkle release worked fine. I do not believe the company is consumer friendly. It does dry the clothes, but for the price it should work to my satisfaction on all settings. 'Would return it to Best Buy, but did not try the wrinkle away setting till my 30 window was over.

    Owned for 13 months

Another review mentioned the problem with reviews ... that being people that write reviews after a week or two of owning. We have owned this dryer and matching washer for 13 months. The washer had issues at about 9-10 months, so that was resolved no problem by Samsung. When the dryer barely hit 13 months it started making an ear piercing, grinding sound that is something awful. So disappointed. Our previous bare bones, cheapest whirlpool held up for 6 years with now issues. You would think that the hefty price tag on this unit would mean quality. Sadly, because the manufacturers warranty is up in going to have to pay to have it fixed. We are reaching out to Samsung for guidance, so I will update this review if possible.

    Horrible dryer, horrible service

The dryer started a loud vibrating/grinding noise within 6 months. It has progressively gotten louder and does not dry well, it takes at least two cycles even with a small load. I have been fighting with Samsung for a month to get it serviced under warranty. I am about to give up and just purchase something else, my time is more valuable than this dryer is.
