Delivered on time with COVID protocol. Installation was easy. Performed software upgrade and set up Samsung account. Screen mirroring was not working. Called Samsung customer support. They were able to login remotely and fix the issue. Samsung does stand behind their product.

My husband purchased this TV a little over a year ago and suddenly it stop working. The TV doesn't turn on, only fluckers a dark blue screen. I've tried every troubleshooting options provided on Samsung's site... no success. I am a die hard Samsung fan and can't believe Samsung invested time and money to create such crappy TV to sell to their consumers. And BestBuy on there hand for the sake of protecting your consumers, it's not every mediocre product a manufacturer is looking to sell you should participate in because it can put a negative reflection on you for selling such faulty product. At this point I'm not sure who I'm more disappointed in Samsung or BestBuy for selling such a bad product. Please people don't buy this TV you will spare yourself a headache and the pocket change spent to buy the headache.

The picture is great and the interface is easy to use. I was able to set the whole thing up in less than 30 minutes. My only issue is that the unit disconnects from the wifi in between uses. Most of the time when I turn it off I have to reboot the next time I use it to reconnect to the internet.

      TexasBBQ:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU6980 TV and for your review. I am very sorry that you are experiencing internet connection issues. You may want to go through these steps to check your network connection:

      1) Check the distance between the TV and your modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft. (15.2 m).

      2) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (WiFi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.)

      3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem.

Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test

      4) Try a cold reboot of your TV by pressing and holding the power button for 5+ seconds until the TV turns off and on again.

      5) Please also be sure you have the latest firmware update. You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

Budget TV and Quality Shows - Stay Away

So after having this TV for 3 months, I think it's time to give a review. So I purchased this on Oct 31, 2020 and was delivered and set up by Best Buy's services. Delivered Nov 22, 2020. No complaints there. After having the TV, for some time, I know there will be some disappointments for any new purchase as you realize the product has something or not something. I did some looking around, and I get that this is a Black Friday special build, so some corners will be cut and it won't have everything, but overall this was the best bang for the buck. It delivers a nice picture and has some okay features, considering I am upgrading from a 10 year old BB in house brand 42" TV, so yes significant improvement. One disappointment was that it only has 2 HDMI ports, now when you are utilizing a soundbar with ARC, you effectively have only one port, since MS dropped the optical on the XBOX Series X (different disappointment), you have to flip cables or add in something that can degrade the signal (I use a PC on here too) The PC has a hard time with outputting display because many times the TV tries to cycle through the video modes and gives up, so I get to unplug and plug back in the HDMI to force the TV to try again... On occasion I get distortion and garbling on the ARC though the soundbar being passed from TV to audio without even having any other input turned on. This is with different soundbars and cables on this TV, I plug it into my 10 year old Insignia, no distortion That wasn't the worst of it, no. So approx 3 weeks ago, I was watching a movie, and I started seeing white flickering in the lower left corner of the screen. I chocked it up to possibly bad quality from the stream or something like that, moments later a loud hiss goes through and the screen dies, the TV screen picture died starting from the right and 'spilled' over to the left. The unit powered off at that point. I pulled the power and waited 5 minutes and plugges back in and tried to power on the TV, no picture, I can hear the menu chime/sound, the backlight comes slightly on but no picture. Called BB and tech came out a few days later and believes the main panel was bad, so ordered replacement, which was a 2 week wait...so yesterday it was brought in and they swapped the panel and as soon as that was done, it died again...so not only the panel is bad but the mainboard and possibly the power supply too... If this had happened within the return window, I would of taken it back. But here I am, still waiting another two weeks to 'fix' it. Tbh, I can't wait for the mfg warranty to expire so I can just get it swapped with a different model (I bought the 5year for a reason) I'd expect cheap parts to fail 3-4 years...not 3 months. At this point if you are looking for a good and solid TV, stay away from this, Samsung makes great PREMIUM products, if you're gonna buy a Sammy, plan to spend $2500, otherwise if you are going to go budget line, then stick with housebrand BB (they generally use LG. Sammy, RCA parts anyways, the guts are all the same, its just the label) I'll consider revisions here down the road after a year or two but likely this TV would be disco anyways

I thought it was great, until the sound started to clip past 15 and would eventually not work. Kept doing it, had to return it. Picture was great, and the size for the money was great... just wish the sound issue wasn't an issue. Went with the Sony x750h, couldn't be happier honestly
