Worst experience ever. We've purchased a lot through best buy as we remodeled our home. Until now we had not had an issue. We purchased this TV may of 2020 with the goal of putting it up on a wall that we were building. Due to other remodel efforts the build took 2 years, just in time for the warranty to expire. For the first time we turned this TV on, immediately noted issues with dark banners randomly appearing on the tv. Contacted Samsung, and they indicated the tv is out of support, same with Best Buy. The TV was never connected and not moved throughout the remodel. So the fact that the TV finally gets turned on and doesn't work out of the box is a huge disappointment considering it cost: $4,113.49. What a waste. This randomly happens and moves around the screen as you will see from the pictures, I included two that highlight the issue, vs when its normal.

This TV is gorgeous. My previous 82" Samsung Q8 developed a dead pixel after about a year of ownership. I NEVER pay for extended warranties but for some reason I did on that TV so it ended up paying off. The technician that came to my house to look at the problem told me that Samsung would never warranty a TV over 1 dead pixel but to Samsung's credit, they did. So this was the TV they gave me to replace my Q8. I of course had the TV calibrated by Geek Squad. My Q8 was calibrated by an independent calibrator because Geek Squad for some reason was not able to calibrate my Q8 in HDR mode. Honestly the outside contractor did a much better job than Geek Squad but he also cost $600 so you kinda get what you pay for. I am a Total Tech Support member so the calibration only cost me $50 so I really can't complain. But after calibration this TV does look very good. I honestly feel that the Q8 was a little brighter than this Q80 but it still looks great. SDR content looks fantastic but HDR is where this TV really shines. The contrast and vibrance of colors is astounding. My only real gripe with this TV is the same one I have with ALL LCD TV's and that is motion blur. Motion blur drives me nuts but I also can't stand the "soap opera" effect you get with any motion smoothing technology. Sometimes I will turn the setting to "Auto" and with certain content it can look pretty good. Other times it looks really weird and fake so I keep turning it off and on. I do feel that my Q8 was a little better than this TV but this TV is also 3" bigger and does indeed look amazing.

The 85inch Q80T is new at my home, but so far it's great.  We previously had a 75" Samsung 1080P.  We are enjoying the bigger size and the improved picture.  We are seeing detail on shows that we've never seen before.  We played Skyrim on an old Xbox 360.  The picture was astonishingly good.   The upscaling capabilities are impressive. Best Buy delivered the TV and put the stand on.  My husband and I carried the TV in and later removed the stand and then wall mounted the TV.  I was worried about handling the weight of the TV beforehand and I had been working out some.  I am a small lady of 59 years and I was able to do this. I ran the HDMI cables and ethernet cable from the TV to the devices rather than through the AV Receiver, except of course for the eARC HDMI cable.  I did this because the TV is more advanced than the receiver; namely hdr10+. We had a couple technical hurdles getting everything setup, but they were quickly resolved.  I did upgrade all ethernet and hdmi cables.  The TV is quite sophisticated. I debated over the choice between this and the Q80R in the 82 inch.  This TV has the bigger size, better upscaling, better chip, HDMI 2.1 on HDMI 4 (game.)  It also has the enhanced eARC HDMI for the audio return to the receiver (or soundbar.)  Dolby Atmos is also capable. The Q80R had more dimmable zones.  However, I read three professional reviews on the Q90R vs Q90T.  The Q90T had received a  drastic reduction in dimmable zones and yet the Q90T had the edge in the comparisons. All I can say is that we are happy with the performance of this TV.  I feel that the upscaling capabilities will bring great benefit as we continue to watch a lot of content in lower resolution (1080P).  Lastly, bigger is better!

When I first was looking for a TV I did thorough research and landed on the Q60/Q70T models. I read several reviews and went with the Q80T model. With the direct full array I do not see the issues people were complaining about in their negative reviews. This tv has a great picture, supports HDR such as HDR10 and HDR10+. The game enhancer-+ mode is a nice add to help with games on my PlayStation. Ambient mode is pretty cool. Can even play music and has animated backgrounds/artwork to display. Lastly Airplay on the TV is a sweet perk. Especially being able to do picture in picture or just split the video game or movie you are watching with airplay from a laptop or phone.

I decided to upgrade my tv this summer. I Was looking into 8k but this one caught my eye due to the size. I’m glad I went with it. Pros: -Screen size is amazing. Can still see the whole screen but everything fits perfectly -The colors are incredible. I barely had to adjust any settings, was great right out of the box. -Easy to set up - 4 hdmi slots so you can plug all your favorite devices in Cons- -Price is a little high - very nitpicky but the remote doesn’t have a settings button, you have to search for it through the menu every time -bixby is hit or miss for me

We have been very impressed with the TV. Setup using the SmartHome app on our phones couldn’t have been easier, from connecting to our network, to stepping up how you watch TV. Extremely easy to set up ... simiply follow on screen prompts. The picture quality is amazing. We haven’t owned a 4K TV until this one, and the picture quality makes it feel like you’re right there. The refresh rate is great for watching sports and action movies, as it refreshes

This screen looks amazing and is a noticable difference from my old edge-lit 8000 series from a few years ago. Interface is a little laggy, but functions just like every other Samsung TV interface. It's a heavy boy and needs two people to hold it while a third person plugs it in from behind (if wall mounting). Sits lower on the wall mount than my 8000 series, so I'll be moving the mount upwards up the wall.

Overall, a good purchase for us. This was a purchase for our basement where we wanted to put in a large screen tv and have a set up for the family to watch tv and play games. We’ve had it about a month and the kids love it for gaming. Almost makes it feels like you are in the game. For movies, it’s slightly less spectacular. The edges can be dark but otherwise it’s great. Set up was easy and intuitive. Viewing is really nice and it makes me wonder how we managed on our previous 60”. Originally we wanted to wall mount this, but ended up using the pedestal. I would purchase this again.

Very easy to set up by following screen prompts. Picture clarity is fantastic. Sound from TV speakers is good but much better with a soundbar. Had minor problem with voice and picture being out of sync but one call to Samsung support resolved the issue. Very satisfied with this TV

I really like the features of tv, like it doesn’t have much reflections, auto play when you connected an external device and the remote works seamlessly. It’s very bright and the colors are very good. I streamed movie through firetv in game mode and the pictures were stunning, it really makes a difference when playing movie in a game mode.

Beautiful picture, fits the space great and very user friendly. I had the Geek Squad install it (way to big for me to want to try), it was worth the money to have it done. The were fast & very helpful, had it up on the wall & running so fast. It would have taken us all day to do it ourselves.

I bought this tv for my mancave, primarily for gaming. So far, I've been a little disappointed in the picture quality. It is still a good TV, but I would be returning it had I not purchased it at such a good price(it was onsale for 3100). The software issue ive seen many complain about has been nonexistent for me so far. Overall, I'd rate the TV about 8/10. Very solid, but not worth the full price. Buy on-sale!
