Blacks are deeps, colors vivid, it's great. That being said, there are some drawbacks I would imagine will be handled by software patches. The sound sensor is absolute garbage and goes completely berserk when a soundbar is plugged in. The television also won't recognize the Xbox One being on and will sometimes turn it off when trying to play a blu ray disc. The picture is great and that's obviously the most important thing but when you spend 4k on a tv, you want all the bells and whistles to work too.

You can run a sound test for a better understanding of the sound issue.
Go to Settings> Support> Device Care> Self Diagnosis> Sound Test
If the TV plays the Sound Test melody without distortion, there may be a problem with an external device or the broadcast signal's strength.

Best TV we ever owned

It was on sale for $2999.00 and it was well worth it. We have the JBL soundbar connected, so I cannot say anything about the TV sound. We are in love and thinking to get a second one, because the 65 inch in our bedroom looks so small when coming from the living room.

And I am entirely satisfied. Goes perfect in my apartment. Not too big at all. Price also played integral role in deciding to upgrade. Was $800 less in November so I made sure to upgrade. Easy setup and I like the apps that are already installed. This is an outstanding tv and will be a great transition to an 8K tv in a few years.

We used it along with a SONOS playbar and it feels like you are in the movie theater. The only draw back is the remote is not illuminated which makes it difficult to operate in the dark but I am sure the more we use it the easier it will be,

The picture quality is amazing and it gives us so many options of how to find and watch our favorite shows. Coupled with the soundbar, movie watching feels like we are in a private theatre! I highly recommend this TV and soundbar! The price was reasonable and of course we were thrilled with the Best Buy salesmen and Geek Squad!! They are the Best!!

OK Picture software sucks

TV would lockup when switching sources. Had to turn TV off and on. EARC would turn the stereo off but not on. My 8 year old Sharp with Aquoslink would turn on the satellite, TV and stereo with 1 button. Samsung unable to fix. Setup appointment with their local repair shop Teknition. They said without looking at TV it needed a main board. Ok?? Setup appointment to replace. Received a call before appointment from Teknition that they did not have the part and had no idea when it would be available. Sent TV back. PS. Based on my research the issue with EARC not working well is a known problem with no fix. Yes, I updated the software to the newest version. Still busted.

Once I had it on the wall it was off to the races. Got a few devices plugged in (satellite tv, surround sound, and PS4) and no need to change any default settings, since the tv automatically did it for me! All the built-in apps ran smoothly with no hiccups and the image quality is amazing! Definitely a worthwhile purchase!!!

I decided against the Q90 based on it being a grand more expensive. Three days after I got this model, it went on sale for 300 less. Then another week or two and another 200. Coupled with financing and I could not be happier. The picture is very sharp and the contrast is excellent. Sports are amazing to watch. This is for a large living room or media room.

My only issue I have is the Samsung software requiring you to unplug the TV every once in a while to reset itself in order to download new apps. Aside from that, this TV has treated me very well for the last two years!!
