I purchased this solid state drive to replace a hybrid drive in a brand new laptop that I purchased. Games were just not playing well with the hybrid drive. I cannot say if I had a good, bad or indifferent hybrid drive but I can tell you that this Samsung Evo has cured my problems. Excellent boot times (sub 10 seconds most of the time). My games are flawless, no more stuttering. I installed Windows 7 on this drive and had an amazing install time. I waited to review this item to ensure I gave what I considered to be a fair review over a period of time, It has only been a month or so, but "flawless" is the only word I can use to describe it at this time.

This is an amazing SSD for the price. You can only do better by getting the 850 pro. If your looking for an SSD to replace your current HDD then look no further. Install of fresh windows 7 pro only takes about 6 minutes to complete and boot up times of less then a minute, will make you appreciate what Samsung has brought to the Solid State community. After purchasing this drive and seeing the performance, I have converted all of my drives to the 850 evo.

2nd samsung evo that we have purchased the previous one being the 840 series. the 850 performs just as well and the speed difference is night and day vs our old hd! samsung migration software is very good and made transitioning our old hard drive data a snap! removed old hd, plugged in new sammy and we were off to the races!

Like SSD :)) . I highly recommend to buy SSD and Samsung 850 EVO one of the best SSD on March 2015. I have used Acronis True Image two times to clone OS on SSD - 0 errors.

I bought this to temporarily replace another SSD in my computer. It makes startup lightyears quicker, saving you time and money. I definitely recommend it.

had an old gateway lap top that needed a new hard drive and didn't want to spend a lot of money. This one works great, is fast ,and cheep!

I opted out of purchasing one of these when I first built my gaming rig back in 2007. They were very expensive. Now almost 10 years later they're practically free. My god this thing is amazing. Installed Windows on it and I'm to my desktop in less than 10 seconds where as before with my 7200rpm hdd it was a minute or two process. Hands down best purchase I've made for my pc.

A must buy. Excellent performance and durability.Have these in all laptop and desktop upgrades.

This is my first SSD so I purchased the best reviewed, most trusted brand. I found that it really speed up the starting of OS, but other than that I don't see much of improvement. If you have large software (ex: photoshop), this will open and save your program faster, but for average user, you will not notice big difference. And based on price of gigabits per dollar, it is quite expensive. But overall as SSD, Samsung deserves good rating.

Reliable, does the job, haven't had any issues yet.
