Installation was plug and play although make sure you are in the 6GB/s SATA port. I did a clean install of Windows 10 and installation alone was much quicker than with a traditional HDD. All major programs and the OS are now installed on the Samsung SSD and my system (which was good to begin with) is crazy fast. Next move will be to upgrade my son's desktop to an SSD.
