This the best SSD on the market for a general consumer. I have installed this in a desktop and a laptop with Windows 7 and the difference between a hard drive and this SSD is night & day. Windows 7 runs fast on an SSD. My workplace has purchased more of these based on my recommendation to upgrade the work desktops which are 4-5 years old. The new SSD makes them run as if brand-new. Can't recommend it enough.

This is hands down one if the best laptop upgrades you can make! I bought this Samsung SSD to replace the factory hard drive in my laptop. As a solid state drive, it is about 10x faster, much more reliable, and less prone to damage from the normal bumps a laptop goes through from being transported and moved from place to place. Installation was very easy and I did it myself. The whole process, from copying my existing hard drive to this one and then installing it, took less than two hours. It used to take between 1.5 to 2 minutes for my laptop to boot up, but with this SSD it takes less than 30 seconds! Well worth the price. Only drawback is that the drive does not come with the USB to SSD/SATA cable needed to clone your existing hard drive, but this is an inexpensive cable that can be purchased at Best Buy or any electronics store.

The Samsung EVO SSds are very fast and reliable. I have only had a problem once, and that may have been defective electronics in the computer. The included cloning software is a huge bonus.

I bought this to replace my regular HDD. This ssd is very fast and reliable.

Installed as a replacement drive for Dell E6520 Latitude laptop. We were installing Windows 10 Pro. We compared default BIOS setting (RAID) and then ACHI and the ACHI gives about 30% better performance on OS startup. Performance is awesome and we don't need to worry about crashing heads. Hopefully life cycle will be longer than the motherboard.

Samsung hard drives are reliable. Computer boots in 3 seconds.

Cloned this into my Lenovo Core-i3 laptop - I'd already maxed-out my RAM at 16 gigs, and figured that because of the modest processor in my machine, I might experience an incremental speed increase at best with an SSD. Boy, was I wrong, this laptop is a speed demon now! I'm not inclined to get a utility and specifically measure how fast, but for you quasi-technical types like myself, I think you''ll discover as I did that hard drive access times have a huge impact on overall system performance, and an SSD is probably the single greatest performance improvement you can make to your system. Wasn't initially quite sure I could justify the premium price of the Samsung EVO, but I'm extremely pleased with its performance. Based on its overall impact on my system, I'm glad I went with the Samsung.

Replaced but original HD in the laptop with the EVO solid state and cloud not believe the speed difference . Boots very quickly now. The EVO seems to be well rated as nearly best in my research. Easy install.

This SSD drive installed easily and has performed admirably. I was at first not sure if I was wasting money trying to rebuild my HP elite book but it was really worth saving. Glad I did it. Runs faster than ever.

What's not to like about this SSD? Easy to install. Easy to setup. Easy on the budget. Are there faster SSDs out there? Sure. Are there cheaper SSDs out there? You betcha. However, it's a solid drive at a reasonable price. I've had many Samsung products over the years, and this one has only reinforced my opinion of their products overall.

Although you pay a little more for the V-Nand SSD 850 EVO (250 GB) drive, the quality and performance is solid. My only gripe is the Samsung Data Migration software claimed I did not have a Samsung drive. I simply installed Easy GiG IV software that came with my Apricorn SATA Wire. and cloned the drive to my new Samsung SSD.

Replaced two aged WD Raptor drives running in Raid 0. SSD is so much faster it is laughable. Also much quieter. Quick easy install of drive and a clean Windows 10 from flash drive.

Actually, this drive (250 Gb) was too small incapacity to clone the hard disk of the target system. I exchanged it for the 500 Gb version (no opportunity to review that one, for some reason), which worked perfectly, once we figured out to change the boot drive in the computer's BIOS.

This is my 2nd SSD and I am just as happy with this one as I am with my old one (Samsung 840 EVO). This thing is fast and brings new life to any old device. May be a bit expensive, but getting this on sale somewhere else and best buy price matching it is the way to go, since BBY rarely has it on sale.

This ssd is really fast. I trust samsung drives and this one did not disappoint. I have this in a Dell Desktop, and my win10 system boots up fast and closes fast. No noise, and no problems.
